Mostly like the list, but I'm not sure that the Witch in Into the Woods or the prisoners/Velma Kelly in Chicago are actually villains. Great songs, but not villains songs. For sure Stars from Les Mis and Don't Nobody Bring Me No Bad News from The Wiz should have been on this list. Other contenders might have been Gun Song from Assassins or Whatever Lola Wants from Damn Yankees.

I'm sad that 'The Pitiful Children' placed lower on the list, but I'm really happy that the SQUIP and Be More Chill has been recognised. 'The Pitiful Children' is such an amazing song that really helps describe the manipulation that Jeremy went through and I love how you talked about how Jeremy was manipulated! Honestly love this video, thank you!

Hold on, is that Nardole as master of the house
Edit: you missed the part where Cell Block Tango has one innocent woman who can't appeal because she doesn't speak English, thus highlighting the injustices brought upon foreigners.

Dude I love Lonley Room. My senior year we did Oklahoma and the guy playing Jud has the best voice for the song and with the lighting we set up, it was my favorite scene and the first time I saw him sing it it gave me chills

I just watched my teammate play Regina and she sang this it was so amazing that my whole team was crying and when she finished everyone gave her standing ovation cause when I tell you world burn is nuts it's nuts

Little Priest will always be the best villain song in my book. A song with simple rhymes, dark humour, cannibalism, while at the same time serving as social commentary on Victorian england? Yes please.

my favorite broadway villains songs are these 4
tradition from fiddler on the roof
I see it all on TV from willy Wonka live
telly from matilda the musical
and liver from oilver the musical

reply

Not me being confused bc Phantom is not an antihero imo he a villain. A villain with a tragic backstory yeah but the dude hypnotizes and kidnaps a young woman bc he thinks she sings pretty
reply

How is Confrontation from Jeckyl and Hyde not on this list? That is one of the most epic songs from any musical! Also, Lord Farquad from Shrek the musical should be on here too!
reply

I'm sorry CBT is a villains' song? And it was the number one pick! For real?
the girls are not the villains in the story though? The lawyer is a bigger villain than them

We're excluding songs that bgan on the silver screen. number one from Mean Girls. . then Carrie, and Legally Blonde Who puts these together? A bunch of 15 year olds?
reply

Hello Little Girl is the best villain songs ever and back in 1988 Chuck Wagner sings that song too and Robert Westenberg did wonderful voice and so is Chuck Wagner

Just replace the Heather's songs with, Smell of Rebellion, You've Been Playing with Fire, and A Freak Like Me Needs Company. Then your list is much better. ++

I love how they continued the line from 'Candy Store'. Instead of 'Welcome to my candy store', they went 'Welcome to MsMojo'. Honestly brilliant. XD

Sweeney Todd had to sit there and sing with the judge preparing him for his daughter he hasn't seen since she was 1, that's kinda sad
reply

Most of the characters in Oliver are bad guys in some sense, but Bill Sykes puts the rest to shame. His song, My Name, should have been included.
reply

564: Doesnt surprise me that I see Patrick Page singing that song in HadesTown. He played the villain in the musical Spider-Man Turn Off The Dark
reply

I love the amount of Heathers in here. I do think Smell of Rebellion from Matilda shouldve been In here. AND I agree with Cell Block Tango as 1.
reply

I LOVE Meant to be You, Candy Story, Freeze Your Brain, World Burn, You'll Be Back, and Cell Block Tango. I see this as an absolute win: D
reply

I dont know if Shakespeare is considered an anti-hero or not but I absolutely think that hard to be the bard should have been mentioned
reply

The current 50th anniversary tour of Superstar has Harod in a full gold cape and black sparkly over the knee boots. It's quite spectacular
reply

Surprised that Those Were the Good Old Days from Damn Yankees wasn't included. Can you have a better villain than the devil himself?
reply

You forgot
Dance With Me Darling from Bat Boy
Falcon in the Dive from The Scarlet Pimpernel
and Wonderful from Wicked

reply

Idk if this counts but I'm way too obsessed with Percy Jackson so like. The Last Day of Summer from the Lightning Thief Musical.
reply

No Javert? No Audrey II? I understand no Judas - the anti-hero clause, but Feed Me or Mean Green Muther should totally be here!
reply

Chicago is a great musical, but for me the number one is The Phantom of the Opera! So I disagree with number one election.
reply

566: Might sound weird but the musical Carrie is one of my favorite musicals. My dad liked the song When There Was No One
reply

Alive is probably my favorite one on here, but I also feel like parts of Confrontation where Hyde sings should be on here
reply

Throwing Erik/the Phantom in here as a quote unquote villain is a. really reductive interpretation of the narrative.
reply

569: The best thing of a villain, a villain song. Ive heard of the ones I grew up with but others, Im impressed
