I don't understand Disney's reason for any of their content not being on Disney+. They already have tobacco and stereotype warnings on their content. What makes these any different? Something not having a big enough audience also doesn't make sense for a reason to not put something on Disney+ when movies like: Chicken Little, The Black Cauldron, and the straight to VHS/ DVD movies are on Disney+.

When I was younger, I actually had a teacher bring in a copy of song of the south she had (vhs thats how long ago lol) and the whole class went through it learning what was true/false and what that time really was like. And yes, she was African/native american, so we got taught on both fronts.

It's weird how in the Simpsons movie, they still let the skateboard scene with Bart's dick shown in the movie not censored or skipping that scene.
Same for X-men Days of Future Past when we see Logan time travel and see his butt. Yet, in Splash, they added CGI long hair to the mermaid

1. I really need them to put In Search of the Castaways, Starring Hayley Mills, on there
2. It would be fun if all the old sing a longs were put on there as well
3. Please don't tell me that they censored Us Against The World in Lizzie McGuire? That was an epic epic moment.

I wondered why the good Muppet Babies wasn't up on Disney+. I actually saw Song of the South in theaters. I was in kindergarten or first grade at the time so 99% was over my head anyway.
But what I really want to know is why Disney won't put up Aladdin the series?

reply

Aren't the first 2 Muppet movies on Disney+? They may not have gotten the whole family but Big Bird made a cameo in The Muppet Movie and Oscar in The Great Muppet Caper and I don't think their scenes were cut from the Disney DVD releases.
reply

11: 19 I wish they would get the whole family. I've personally been pushing for this one, and after all the other stuff they have done with the Henson company lately, I'm hopeful they will sort things out to get this one on the service.
reply

Hunted up Song of the South ages ago. Don't bother. Aside from the animated versions, the movie is tedious to the point of actively boring, and the main child actor is 'He must have been someone important's kid' levels of bad acting.

The Western-comedy movie Hot Lead and Cold Feet. Along with the original Parent Trap movie, it's one of my favorite twin-swap films. Plus it has Don Knotts as a bumbling sheriff side character. No idea why it's not on Disney Plus.

6: 03 - everyone forgets the ninth, unspoken rule of fight club - you do not mention the Star Wars Holiday Special! EVER! Even 43 years later, I keep desperately trying to forget it, so quit bringing it back up! Please!
reply

The Star Wars Holiday Special is the jewel in my late husband's DVD collection. We never watched it but finding it at a sci-fi fair was the highlight of our marriage (and that's a pretty tough choice.

One film, or rather short, that will most definitely not make it onto Disney+ is Mickey's Mellerdrammer. If you don't understand why or what this short even is, give it a search and you'll see why.
reply

This is why I hate Disney+. They keep censoring everything and keep trying to pretend the past didn't exist, but even though these weren't the most PC they shouldn't be forgotten.
reply

Roger Rabbit is probably a hard joint effort between Disney and Warner Bros. It's a cult classic, but It's probably unlikely we'll ever get to see Roger Rabbit in the near future.
reply

I've seem song of the south its both worst movie ever made in cinema, I do agree it should be open for viewing for study and research, I can name movies far worse than this
reply

It bothers me when they cut things because of a problematic actor. It doesn't make an episode change in quality, but it does remove possible conversations about behavior.
reply

Congratulations! If any of these are NOT on Disney Plus! Then they are not Disney!
They are now Anti Disney!
Welcome to the resistance!
REVOLUTION!

Did you know Disney is planning to release The Ringing Bell? It is based on the book by Takeshi Yanase. I cant wait! I do believe its 2023 probably.
reply

Dude the brave little toaster deserves to be in disney movie since it was confirmed to be a disney movie despite it switching companies.
reply

The suite life of zack and Cody episode with cheetah girls and chris brown, I loved that episode but bc of Chriss past they wont play it anywhere
reply

At least Bear in the Big Blue House isn't on this list. If they do a reboot, I hope they at least release the original along with it.
reply

sees Star Wars Holiday Special, then sees it on Disney Plus I think you may need to revise it now that it's actually on Disney Plus
reply

I wish Disney would bring John McClane to Disney Plus fly in the ointment monkey and the rench pain in the ass yippee ki-yay mother.
reply

Splash Mountain is being re-themed to The Princess And The Frog for obvious reasons (it was originally Song Of The South themed)
reply

There's only one thing that Disney will never send her out of any of their movies and that is death. Has anybody else noticed that?
reply

I don't see why Disney+ didn't include the Proud Family episode giving the fact Destiny's Child actually performed the theme.
reply

I am sorry, but that michael jackson episode on the simpsons is a classic, and the birthday song just brings so many memories.
reply

The Proud Family episode was actually my favorite one! Had a good lesson about using your parents' money without permission.
reply

I wish the Buzz Lightyear of Star Command tv series was on Disney plus. It was the original origin story of Buzz Lightyear.
reply

Controversies and scandals I can understand, but WHY must music licensing issues get in the way when it comes to streaming?
