You dont condone hunting? Though I personally dont enjoy it, one could argue humans hunting animals is a FAR more humane and natural method compared with our modern methods of industrial livestock farming. This toxic notion that hunting is barbaric is indicative of an ignorance that effects urbanized individuals, a willful ignorance many continue to adhere to even after exposure to rural processes. They believe hunting for sport is a silly activity reserved for the elite, and hunting for food is barbaric because their world view comes through urban glasses an individual who hunts, only feeds their own family, whereas industrial farming breeds, grows and slaughters livestock tenfold in one cage in a concrete barn, feeding all of the masses in the cities. So any process that doesnt suit their world is depicted as obsolete and barbaric in North America we experience this same cognitive dissonance, those in urban areas patronize hunting and guns in general because from their world view there is no need and they only bring carnage, but from a rural perspective they are quite necessary and the problems guns present in urban areas are nonexistent. Urban dwellers need to develop the capacity to try to understand and empathize with concepts and practices that are not meant to serve or adhere to their pompous lifestyle. You are not the whole world, yes you have stacked thousands or millions on top of one another in your cities and you have the majority, but you cannot continue to force urban policies and procedures on rural populations.

The trouble with the Crown and I blame the producers, writers and directors not the actresses is that neither Claire Foy or Olivia Coleman captured the joy and fun of the Queen. It was just all doom, gloom, and stiff upper lip all the way and of course it is as about as historically accurate as a Disney cartoon. Talking posh, wearing period costumes, filming in historical settings with emotive music does not make the series remotely truthful or historically accurate, which is unfortunate as so many people have been taken in by the nonsense and believe it depicts the truth.

Seems sad that this woman has gone through so many trusted family members and a few trusted friends, and has outlived them all (Her father, her mother, her sister, her husband, Porchy, some of her prime ministers, and whoever else we dont know of. Who does she have left to truly confide in and bounce thoughts and ideas off of? Regular people can find new friends, family members and other outlets, but for the Queen of England, it has to be a difficult position to be in.

In the fifth ranking, you missed the part where Charles says the exact same words as his mum did to queen Mary in one of the first episodes of season one. It is so powerful to see how her mind changed completely after carrying the burden of the crown for so many years that now she is the one affirming everything she was criticizing! The power of this series is amazing because of details like these

In the Fagan episode, when he has left and she sends the maid away to get her some tea and she is finally alone and we see all the fear and shock take over, that moment gave me chills, I felt so much for her even though she wasn't really showing a strong neediness for comfort, but even more so I just wanted to giver her a hug (and roll her into a blanket burrito) O, o Beautiful acting!

You might not condone hunting, but on Scottish estates, hunting deer is to keep populations under control, otherwise, they end up damaging their own feeding grounds due to overgrazing - to the detrement of other species as well as themselves. There are no large predators to naturally keep the deer population in check naturally, so it is done artificially.

Dont feel too much pity, she wouldve become Queen even if her Uncle didnt abdicate. He had no children, when he died it wouldve went to his fathers second oldest second, the spare, and that is Elizabeths father. If her father was already dead, it wouldve went straight to her like in the case of Queen Victoria and her uncles.

Out of all the actresses to play HM The Queen, Olivia is the BEST, as well as Claire Foy, I've watched every series, movie about HM, but these 2 actresses do an amazing portrayel. Love Olivia. what an actress. They should really take the crown until the end of HM's life as a tribute and because we all LOVE THE CROWN

The favorite child episode is interesting in that it's the first time we even SEE Andrew and Edward. And without HER SAYING anything we SEE it. Andrew is the only one who can make her laugh (supposedly Harry can now. With recent events, this episode amplifies how in real life he must've just crushed her.

I hope her passing last year will finally be made public- her double opened parliament 3 times in civilian clothing and recently this week no one lowered her flag when she allegedly was gone- now the flag is flying when the COURT is there? NO those in current power really believe we are obtuse

This scene after Margaret's suicidal behavior, when the queen coming with a tear in her eyes telling her sister how actually she cares about her despite everything around them, made me cry. Just the simple and strongest emotional moment in the show I think

Claire Foy was better in every way, the subtlety and the quietness, and the strength of character. Olivia Colman played her as a common, shallow woman, exactly as she plays all her roles. I like her fine as an actress but I think shes very overrated.

When The Queen had the intruder enter her bedroom, she did in fact keep him occupied with small talk for a number of minutes. A simple search of the papers at the time would reveal this to anyone. Please don't make statements which are not true!

I think I could watch The Olding nearly every night, it is brilliant; and the coal mining disaster in the Welsh village is one of the episodes with very little liberty taken with what actually happened, which makes it even harder to watch.
reply

Olivia should still be the queen, the latest season seemed sooo boring, I don't know if it's because of the plot, about the fact that the queen's main concern was her ship or because she was played by another actress

The scene where Elizabeth and Philip talk about their favorite child and when Philip leaves the room without answering for her who her favorite is. The way she calls out his name Philip! cracks me up every time.

The Queen was always going to be queen. It wasnt ever doubt what her future role was going to be. Except it might have not been till the 70s that the crown would have landed on her head.
reply

The scene with the guy that broke into her bedroom, it was widely reported at the time that this is pretty much exactly how she handled it. Maybe not so calmly. but she kept him talking.

Margaret Thatcher was a racist and an ultra conservative. The Queen has a much more open heart. So, Thatcher stepping down brought England back into reality and democracy within it.
reply

Ive said it before if you went back and told all thoes fans of Peep Show
Her, shes going to play Queen Elizabeth and shes going to do it really well!
Theyd never believe you.

reply

The queen did actually speak to the man that broke into the Palace for a few minutes as one of the cleaners was outside her room hovering and didn't hear the bell for help.
reply

Olivia Coleman is an amazing actress. She took on the role as QIIR & ran with it. She knocked it out of the park! & her work as Queen Anne in The Favorite Just Brilliant!
reply

Save us from Thatcher. well, maybe hadnt the government veered so hard left and quit with subsidies for non-producers the country wouldnt have veered so much further left.

Dear MsMojo, I was about to play a game two hours ago and then I got hopelessly stuck in the Mojo-Swamp of incredibly entertaining Crown-Videos. Thank you for that haha
reply

The problem with The Crown is that it pretends to tell the truth when it is factually inaccurate. This can impact real people's lives and is both cruel and grossly unfair.
reply

Actually I find the late Queen Elizabeth amazing. Her life is not easy as others would think. She is always at the middle. I hope Charles really learned from her
reply

14: 44 This reminds me of Queen Gorgo's ironic echo near the end of 300: This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this. I am not your Queen.
reply

I'm also kind of fascinated by how at 15: 02 Olivia Colman and Tobias Menzies don't break eye contact but their hands find each other so automatically.
reply

Any scene where she has the upper hand over Margaret Thatcher is a good scene. Also calling her son a spoiled immature man is pretty cool.
reply

My favorite episode was Aberfan. Knowing now about the full extent of the tragedy it must have been extremely difficult to play that part.
