I unfortunately was in labor for 4 days and I swore never to do it again. They kept making me go back home from the hospital because even though my contractions were pretty close together I wasnt dilating fast enough. My water finally broke around 4am on the fourth day but my baby wasnt born until 930pm. Women who like to say youll forget about the pain of labor once you see your baby are completely nuts. Its been 22 years since I gave birth yet I still remember like it was yesterday. I promised myself Id never go through that again, which I one of the reasons my daughter is an only child. As a person who unfortunately has lived in pain for almost 30 years I still feel that my labor experience was the worst time of my life. On the flip side with what I went through as a measuring rod for pain Ive learned to live a fairly normal life even with daily pain because nothing else has ever been as bad as the 4 days of labor I suffered through.

I will always remember the Malcom in the middle episode. It was hilarious especially because they spent an episode before that with Louis pretending all her kids where girls so youre laughing as you think back to that one. Then to the whole story line of the episode of the birth or before it where Dewey outs his mom and dad (or just his dad since mom wasnt home) about the day they chose to have the baby. Or in this episode exactly because 1. Crag tries to help 2. After Frances helps her give birth she says he can go puke and he does.

As usual, Mojo snubs Star Trek! TNG AND DS9 each had a great delivery scene
TNG: Very inexperienced Worf winds up delivering Molly O'Brien in the episode Disaster
DS9: O'Brien and Kira's boyfriend Shakaar can't stop fighting over getting the better view/position during the birth when surrogate Kira delivers the O'Briens' baby Kirayoshi
Shakaar: The next time you decide to have a baby, leave my girlfriend out of it!

How could you not include the scene with Miles on Murphy Brown? When they are walking together down the hallway and Murphy stops during a contraction. Miles does not notice until he hears Murphy groan. He turns around and dives under her with his arms outstretched as if to catch the baby falling. They flashed it at the beginning of the video but left it out. After all these years I still laugh thinking about it.

I really wish Marlow's birth scene from Psych made it on here. With her giving birth in a food truck while she's screaming bloody murder and Henry driving the truck, Gus fainting, and her almost breaking Shawn's hand, it's absolutely hysterical. Also the scene where Chief Vick gives birth in the first season is pretty funny too because Lassie doesn't do a very good job of helping her through it xD

Its stuff like this that had the nurse at my L&D class telling us, it never happens in real life like it does in the movies. You are not going to have your water break and suddenly go into active labor, have to rush to the hospital and give birth soon after. That just doesnt really happen.
So, I bet you cant guess what happened to me for my first birth experience. ..

All in the Family should be on this list; it was the first TV show that had a camera in the delivery room. I think that the Flintstones deserved better than honorable mention.
Does the episode of Quantum Leap called 8-1/2 months count? Sam Beckett leaps into a very pregnant woman and feels her labor pains.

I think Superstore should've made the cut.
Amy: Do you have room in your van? I think my water just broke.
Jonah (BF and coworker, but NOT baby daddy): ALREADY? But you're not due for another three weeks!
Amy: (Sarcastically) I'm sorry, my mistake.

so many hilarious labour scenes from many of my favourite shows - Shirley's labour scene was freaking hilarious! and the fact that the group was surprised that Abed delivered a baby earlier made it even more brillant!

What about Pamela on Army Wives Season 1 Episode 1 what could be more funny than giving birth in a bar on a pool table than in the season 4 finale Denise goes into labor while on the phone with her son.

The absolute BEST & FUNNIEST will ALWAYS be Murphy Brown. I still need an oxygen tank to breathe when I see Miles dive under Murphy when she has a contraction while walking the hallway.

I had a feeling I Love Lucy would win. Though there were a number of funny births like the two Friends births, The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, How I Met Your Mother and The Flintstones.

Definitely needed to add Debbie from Shameless, cuz that whole scene was crazy from when she first goes into labor, to seeing everyone's faces, and hearing all the screaming

I think Full House and The Nanny shouldve been higher on this list. Also, the two part episode of Friends where Rachel gives birth has always been my favorite of the series.

Labor and birth doesn't happen that fast. I started contractions in the morning my water had to be broken later in the evening and gave birth the next morning

There was a zack's and cost Christmas special where a woman has 2 give birth at the elevator with mr. mosby. It's so funny what happens but very sweet.

Sherry from Gilmore Girls. her being mad that she gave birth a week before her planned C-Section for 5 PM and Christopher almost not being there again

I was hoping that Raymond was going to be mentioned. That part when Ray fights Robert to stop looking and with their awkward pause always cracks me up!

I'm currently rewatching Superstore and both the real and fake birth of Cheyenne are both so hilarious to me. Anyways i agree with this entire list.

159: Ugh, the bell sound. Reminds me of the episode in Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness. Shifu was ringing it nonstop and drove Po crazy!

Love the episode of Murphy Bown where she delivers, Cosby Show when Sondra delivers and Fresh Prince of Bel Air when Vivian has her baby

I love that Good Luck Charlie and I Love Lucy made the cut. They're both such classics to me, especially the ladies who were infanticipating.

JJ off of Criminal Minds was my favorite. And who could forget Garcia saying that she's not a doctor but she thinks JJ is going into labor.

If their baby was shown grown up in the future.
Friend: Thats a cool name
Other Friend: So, youre going to wait for everything?

As soon as I saw the Jane The Virgin scene it brought me back some memories of the show because Im not allowed to watch it anymore

Rachel Green's giving birth just doesn't make sense. If the baby is breech, you don't push a little harder. You get a C-section.

Charmed
Leo: What did I miss?
Piper: A LOT!
The funniest line after that
Piper: I'm sorry about your demon wife.

The episode A Funny Thing Happened on the Way Home from the Forum of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air was a funny one as well.

You need to watch better quality television shows that accurately depict birthing scenes. BBC's Call the Midwife is one.
reply

The one that should have been on the list is the episode of My Wife and Kids where Michael delivers his grandson.
