I agree with the picks, but in a different order. #1 is a biggie, because it feels almost too real, but the sheer emotion in #10 is breathtaking. I never fail to get a lump in my throat at that scene, and I hate like hell that Karen didn't get _her_ happy ending.
Actually, I kinda give a lot of side-eye at LA, because it really does seem to be mostly about guys getting their happy endings, and when the women do it almost seems incidental. To this day I don't know why it still appeals, LOL, except maybe because it successfully captures a lot of contrasts -- highs and lows, pragmatism and whimsy, and just enough will-they-won't-they to keep things interesting. Also, the cast is fantastic and the filming is top notch, so add that to some catchy tunes and you maybe have a holiday classic? Maybe. Time will tell.

I absolutely love that Emma Thompson/Alan Rickman scene in Love Actually (their entire plot is the best part of the film, actually, especially the moment when Thompson's character breaks down, whilst she plays the Joni Mitchell song. But one thing I don't get is, why did she have this breakdown on Christmas Eve? Was that her only present? It's possible that her husband could have given her the necklace on Christmas morning (I mean, we know that's not going to happen, but how does she)

That scene from Love Actually makes me cry/sob so much every time I watch it, and sometimes just from listening to the song (Both Sides Now. I still remember how I felt thr 1st time I watched it and how I related to Karen so much because I had gone through something similar around the same time. I also adore Emma Thompson and think she's a wonder actress

i haven't seen the movie with the miscarriage scene. I think they depict it well, but i kind of resent that the couple who didn't want the baby end up losing it. It's like devine fate, you got what you deserve and i hate that! Women blame themselves irrationally for a miscarriage so often anyway. this is a subject that should be treated very delicately

Rom-Coms are to young women what P0rn is to young men. I have seen women waste away their youth and healthy opportunities at starting a family in their younger years trying to find that Prince as seen in these movies who will sweep them off their feet and no one is ever good enough the more years go by. And its only becoming more too often.

Wow, I'm just realizing having read the comments that I completely overlooked Emma Thompson's character's name in Love Actually, Karen. And I'm looking at her haircut. Damn. That sucks but not more than what her character goes through. I just kinda want Professor Trelawney to punch Professor Snape right now. May Alan Rickman rest in peace.

I know this is waaaay off-topic, but did ScarJo have a body double in He's Just Not That Into You, or did she do something special diet- or exercise-wise for the role? Because her figure is totally different in that film. Like, I had been searching for that scene, and I had assumed it was a curvier actress in the role.

Now that And Just Like That has premiered, I feel this list can easily be updated and the end of the premiere episode (Even though the scene is mentioned basically everywhere, it's still only been out for a week so I'll leave it un-spoiled here for now) could bump that scene right up to number 1

I really cant watch Love Actually anymore because of how dirty he did Karen. I dont know what it is but it feels so real, and based on the other comments a lot of us can really feel her pain.
The pretty woman scene was just disturbing. And I wish he got more than a punch in the face.

Matuschek's attempted suicide in THE SHOP AROUND THE CORNER: Lucy dumps Cecil in A ROOM WITH A VIEW (he was quite upbeat about it in the book); Linus talks about his suicide attempt in SABRINA
a bit of a stretch to call BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S a comedy? - most films have funny bits.

Every woman felt that moment with Karen. Allow yourself a minute to feel it and cry, then build the wall up, put the smile on your face and perform happy. That definitely should have been higher on the list. Reading the list category, it was the first thing that popped into my mind.

As soon as I saw the title for this countdown, the first thing that came to my mind was the egging scene in never been kissed. I cry every single time I see that scene. Im so glad you didnt forget about it, and that it was so high on the list because it is absolutely devastating.

The Love Actually scene is devastating but also highlights how selfless some Mums and Dads are, to be feeling that amount of pain but to brush it aside to protect the children. I definitely see my Mum in that scene. And the orchestral version of Both Sides Now is just beautiful!

The thing about Sliding Doors is that she meets James at the end of the movie when she's leaving the hospital after falling down the stairs in the first parallel. So it shows that no matter what life turns out the way that it's supposed to.

Emma Thompson's acting was absolutely brilliant. Though I feel like 2 scenes from About Time (Domnhall Gleeson and Rachel McAdams) should've been here:
The table tennis scene and the main character's sister getting into a car accident

In Love Actually, it does not seem like his secretary was in love with him. He seemed like she was seducing a guy to get higher up in the company, and he fell for it. And he betrayed his wife to pursue an unethical relationship

One moment that should've been on the list was Mr. Waddlesbrook Assaults Jane in 'Austenland'. Honestly, that guy deserved to be demoted to garbage collector at the end (only wish the equally-despicable Martin shared the same fate.

Cheating actually wasn't necessarily out of character for Steve. Even the most passive men may at times feel emasculated by a successful woman. No. I'm not saying that justifies cheating. But it is what it is.

Karen in Love Actually should be at number 1. It breaks me, and has broken me, every time I see this scene. I was only in my early 20s when it came out but I felt her pain as I deep as I feel it today.

One dayshouldve been on this list, after years of playing cat and mouse with each other they finally decided to be official and serious and try to have a family all for it to be snatched away the way it did.

The first is the best. Emma Thompson played this role with so much empathy. What I missed is the bathroom scene from the Mirorr, mirorr by Barbara Streisand. I felt there, my heart would be divided.

Sliding Doors is such an amazing underrated movie. That ending gets me every time. The fact that she's pregnant and ends up miscarrying in both timelines makes it so much worse. Poor Helen.

The secretary was always flirting with Harry and making him feel good about himself; we didn't see Karen doing any of that. I can't work up that much sympathy for Karen.

I hate love actually! This scene that she discovered the affair was at the same time we found out my father was cheating my mom with a 19yo. Don't like the movie at all.

I think Karens scene from Love Actually is by far the most devastating scene. One feels her frustration, her bitterness, but she smile for the sake of her children.

Karen was a true mother, she did what she needed to for her children. I respect her for what she did. I don't think I would have ever been able to do it.

I really hope someone mentions Love Actually and how it should be higher up on this list. I know reading the comments I would be upset if no one did.

Nothing can be worse than Fleabag and the Priest, this literally ripped my heart to pieces and left me wanting to throw myself out of the window.
