Saddest Pixar moments
There are couple Pixar moments that Was really heartbreaking for me to watch and made me really cry.
Merida apologizing to her mom when her mom was a bear. Brave
When she loved me/ Jessies backstory Toy Story 2
Buzz Realizes He Is a Toy, Toy Story
The core struggle of the first Toy Story is that Buzz Lightyear thinks hes. well, the Buzz Lightyear. The famous character has been turned into a toy that doesnt realize its anything more than just plastic, no matter how many times the eternally frustrated Sheriff Woody (Tom Hanks) tries to explain this to Buzz. Late in the film, after the two toys have been trapped inside the house of a destructive boy named Sid, Buzz stumbles into a room where a TV is playing a Buzz Lightyear toy ad. Though he wants to believe otherwise, during a scene scored to Randy Newmans downbeat I Will Go Sailing No More, Buzz tries to take flight with his plastic wings and winds up falling to the floor, losing an arm in the process. Its a bracing, sad moment that only served as the foundation of future Pixar weepfests.

Idk why Mcqueens crash was just an honorable mention, and why the kings crash wasnt on here at all. When Lightning Mcqueens crash happened, the entire theatre was in tears because as Cars relates to real world events, people couldnt stomach it because it probably reminded them of when their sports idol or hometown teams star had that one injury or moment where you knew that it was all over for them and that it would never be the same. That was a career, almost a life thrown out the window. It lets you know to enjoy your gift while you still have it, because one day its gonna be all over. Where everyone lost it was when the ambulances surrounded Maqueen who was almost dead and Sally watching in despair as she may become a widow, and then cuts to Maqueen sitting in a shed with his paint job scrubbed of and looking at how doc crashed and accepting that it was over for him. Reminds me of Dale Sr. Crash in 2001.

Okay, but most pixar movies follow the same plot:
Really happy main character loses someone close to them in the beginning. They get depressed and or bitter, and in their journey to recovery meet the really funny, cheery side character that everyone loves.
THEN IN INSIDE-OUT
main character/s have no tragic past, meets Bing-Bong. A really happy movie overall! THEN BING-BONG DIES!
Like, that cut really deep pixar! You killed the happy loveable character!
And he didn't come back like Olaf in Frozen 2, he stayed dead, and forgotten by Riley!
I remember watching the scene, and I realized what he was about to do, and. he was SO HAPPY when Joy made it, like, permanently scarred, Pixar!

The first one will always make me cry. So my mom died 3 days before the release of finding Nemo and when I went to go see it I completely lost it because my mom was supposed to have another baby as well. So the whole Coral and the babies getting eaten just reminded me of my mothers and the babies death. May 27, 2003. Was when my mom and the baby died.
And I had my dad watch the movie Up for the first time last year. And I was sobbing so hard. (My bro even warned me about the beginning when I wanted to watch it the first time) And he didnt do anything he just let me go through the course of crying because I have cried in each Pixar film and theres no stopping me.

For me, Jessie's story was ruined by the song, which was blatantly manipulative. It would have been a lot sadder with a simple instrumental. Also, while Bing Bong's end was sad, it didn't make me cry. Riley's breakdown near the end was what did it for me. I also have to admit that I cried a little harder than I really should have during Toy Story 3. I watched it with my husband & 2 daughters on the day my husband came home from the hospital, where a severe infection almost killed him (the doctor told me at the beginning that they were giving him a 35% chance of going home; 15 days later he beat the odds, so my nerves and emotions were already a little on edge.

I think people should revisit the emotional impact of Soul, because there are a lot of moments that really hit me hard. Towards the beginning when he sees his life in review, all we get are the images drowned in blue light and ethereal music, and he simply says, My life was meaningless. It's the same effect when he says to his mom later, I'm afraid that if I died today, my life would have amounted to nothing. And then in the piano scene at the end, he realizes that his life had so much meaning under the surface that he never stopped to realize. This might hold the crown for me

My top 2 would be one, that once scene with Merida. Im not that good with my mom either but imagining myself losing her to a bears soul still a lifelong nightmare. And for number 2 is that one flashback scene in inside out where, while Riley confesses and comes clean, we see her memories of her life back in Minnesota and growing overtime. Now that was heartbreaking

Thing about the scene in coco that breaks me is Mama Elaina's reaction. If you've ever experienced a close relative slowly dying like that, you'll understand what I mean. What's wrong, miha? Nothing mama, nothing at all. and I'm gone. ;_; .
In Up, I find that the reprise with Thanks for the Adventure scrapbook hits me even harder than the opening montage.

If you haven't cried enough, there're some of Pixar's lowest blows, like the cherry at the top that's saying here you have, cry a little more, betch:
-Andy playing with his toys for a last time.
-Coco's photo being put at the ofrenda.
-Seeing how the house landed perfectly at the Paradise Falls.

With Inside Out I think the most tear inducing moment was when Joy realizes how much Sadness is needed and let's her take control of Riley. The transition of Sadness slowly taking control to Riley kinda staring off and finally letting her sadness out was just gut wrenching

Underrated one: Cars
When Radiator Springs is forgotten for the introduction of the interstate highway and the decommissioning of Route 66, sad because its actually kinda true because towns and communities were basically erased
P. S the music is SO touching! our town

I mean it's not like caring for robots was unique to WALL-E, there were many robots. We grew to care for before and after, like The Iron Giant who we thought died. I'm not saying anything against that scene, it was great, but it's not a solely Pixar thing.

I think the music and the voice acting is what gets me every time and what the characters have been through together, I know the good dinosaur isn't pixars best movie but the ending of that and the ending of luca and onward get to me every time.

As much as that opening scene was a tearjerker, I feel like the scene later on when he goes through the adventure book and sees Thanks for the adventure, now go have a new one, hits even harder. It's bittersweet and healing.

Even just seeing the smallest clips of when Rylie expresses her true feelings to her parents in Inside Out brings me to tears, and it amazes me on how Pixar can always just tug at our heartstrings so badly like this!

I love this list but I think when sully and mike reunite in monsters university its so true and sad, because even though you want/try for something you cant always achieve it, but theres always another option.

When Riley tries to leave her new home man that freaking feeling of just giving up and going back to her comfort zone, that for me is still the most sad Pixar movies moment.

They shouldve added Lotsos backstory, too. He was hearted at first and then he turned evil after Daisy lost him. Hes Toy Storys darker villain than Stinky Pete.

I still don't get why both of Cocos parents are young in the afterlife but Coco is an old lady. That makes no sense to me unless Cocos mom died young too.
