The one about the va who played Porky Pig is actually really messed up! They used a disabled persons disability to make the role what it was, and then when they got tired of accommodating that disability, they just hired an abled person to take the role he made famous, all while imitating that same disability in the role? Thats just so messed up and such a frustrating example of how disability and disabled people are treated sometimes. Sorry if this sounds too serious or if Im missing something in the context that would make it less egregious, but Im Autistic, ADHD, and learning disabled, and stuff like that is why Ive never been able to hold down a job. Employers are eager to say they hire disabled people, but the second that person actually shows signs of disability and needs accommodation to function in the same environment as their abled peers, suddenly theyre just too much trouble to keep around.

Honorable mentions include Chris Latta (Starscream/Cobra Commander) being replaced by Hank Azaria & Harry Shearer as Moe & Mr. Burns on The Simpsons. Sterling Holloway was succeded by Hal Smith (Owl) as Pooh's voice for Winnie-the-Pooh & A Day For Eeyore & the live-action/puppet series Welcome to Pooh Corner in 1983 before passing the mantle to Jim Cummings in 1988. Cummings also succeeded Paul Winchell both as Tigger and Zummi Gummi of Gummi Bears. Grey Griffin would replace the late Russi Taylor as the voices of Martin Prince, Sheri & Terri on The Simpsons. Also Kevin M. Richardson would replace Harry Shearer as the voice of Dr. Hibbert on The Simpsons for ridiculous reasons.

My Honorable Mention has to go to Rob Paulsen filling in for Jim Carrey in The Mask Animated Series as Stanley Ipkiss and The Mask.
Paulsen gave his own timid preformance to Stanley and a very dominant and manic presence to the green-faced goon. He did a remarkable job carrying on Carrey's legacy to the characters, and debatingly, possibly did the role LONGER than Carrey even did in the first place!
And the less we talk about Son of The Mask, the better.

#10 Mila is better
#9 never watched the show. no opinion
#8 Rob was better
#7 Christine Cavanaugh was better
#6 Tough call but I say Alan was the better Fred
#5 Dan was good and didn't try to be Robin, but there's only 1 Genie and that is Robin
#4 Tough act following Mako's passing, I preferred Mako
#3 I prefer Jim Cummings over the OG
#2 Mel Blanc is the GOD of voice actors. the old Porky Pig was lame
#1 I prefer Wayne over Disney

Daphne from Scooby-Doo had her first voice actor swapped out during Scooby-Doo Where Are You? In the first season (1969, Daphne was originally voiced by Indira Stefanniana Christopherson, who left after the first season to move to New York and get married. For the second season (1970, Heather North Kenney voiced Daphne and continued to voice her until 1985 and came back in 1997 and 2003.

This shouldve been a top 20 list cause The legendary Paige o hara being replaced by julie nathanson as Belle which they clearly dont sound nothin alike is a travesty. go look up Sofia the first the amulet and the anthem even though it was mutual agreement amongst o hara and Disney at least have someone with the same maturity and worldly voice as Belle, thats what made her standout

For the role of Genie, Dan was not the only one to replace Robin there was also a man named Jim Meskimen who voiced Genie in some Disney games starting in 2008 before Williams passed away (or in other words committed suicide) Jim did an impression of Williams for Genie's role while trying to bring his own style and respecting Robin.

Uh, I thought Wayne Allwine started as Mickey in the 80s. Wasnt it Jimmy Macdonald that immediately succeeded Walt Disney? In any case, Waynes tenure as Mickey remains legendary, and it was upsetting to hear of his passing in 2009, by which point I barely began to notice Mickey had a new voice thereafter.
reply

Wayne Allwine is more Mickey Mouse than Walt Disney was- Pretty much all of us watching this video know Waynes version of Mickey and call it Our Mickey It still breaks my heart that He as well as his Wife Russi Taylor (Who was actually the voice of Minnie Mouse) are now both gone. Its just not the same.

Following the passing of RWBY voice actor (and series creator) Monty Oum, his brother Neath Oum took over the role of Lie Ren. Not to speak ill of the dead, but I always found Monty's performance flat and dull. Neath has brought more depth to the character, helped by better writing for this character.
reply

Actually, Wayne Allwine is the third actor to voice Mickey. Walt gave the role to Jimmy Macdonald because he was too busy to play the part anymore. Mickey and The Beanstalk was the first cartoon with Macdonald's voice. It wasn't until Mickey's Christmas Carol that Alwine ends up playing the part.
reply

Finding out what actor did what voice for what cartoon always interested me. I'd love to have gotten into voice-over work. I lived in Phx for a time and a day drive to L. A. and and seen what I could have gotten going in that direction. Just saying. Have a great weekend everyone

The original actors has hard to replace, especially Robin Williams which nailed the Genie and actors like Will Smith ruined the character for me. But few voice actors like Wayne, Mel Blanc, and Jim Cummings could take over the role and still make it great!
reply

Mila Kunis v Lacey Chabert
Katie Griffin v Katie Leigh
Chad Lowe v Rob Lowe
Candi Milo v Christine Cavanaugh
Henry Cordon v Alan Reed
Dan Castellanetta v Robin Williams
Greg Baldwin v Mako Iwamatsu
Wayne Allwine v Walt Disney

reply

THANK YOU! Now was that so hard? You can say it's sad we didn't have Robin as Genie in the second film and STILL give Dan his due. He did his best to replicate it and since he did the voice for the TV series too. He had to do it for longer.
reply

I know of another replacement:
Rob Paulsen replaced Frank Welker for the role of Spike in The Land Before Time movies. Frank was Spike for the first movie and then Rob was cast for the next movie and he has been doing the voice ever since.

reply

You missed Matthew Lillard replacing Casey Kasem as Shaggy from Scooby-Doo. Lillard previously played the character in the live action 2002 Scooby-Doo movie but when Kasem died Lillard replaced him as the voice of the animated Shaggy
reply

Robin Williams is and will ever be the true diamond in the rough that cant ever be taken or replaced! Otherwise, if so by one of the two will face the tigers punishment. Jk on the tiger part but Im serious about the first part.
reply

For Dexter: Christine Cavanaugh
For Fred Flinstone: Henry Corden
For Genie: Robin Williams
For Winnie the Pooh: Jim Cummings
For Porky Pig: Mel Blanc
For Mickey Mouse: both Wayne Allwine and Walt Disney

reply

I may get torn apart for this statement but I love both Robin Williams AND Dan Castellaneta as the voice of Genie in Disney's Aladdin, both did very well. I know it's in the minority but I stand by it ardently.
reply

Nancy Cartwright was voiced by Bart Simpson, but also did the voice of Charles Chuckie Finster in Rugrats and All Grown Up! (a role she assumed in 2002, following the retirement of Christine Cavanaugh.
reply

About No. 5, Dan Castellaneta is my all-time favorite Disney actor for voicing Megavolt. And about No. 3, out of absolutely countless Jim Cummings roles, my all-time favorite is Don Karnage.
reply

The animated Aladdin movie is still awesome(Robin Hood, The Little Mermaid, and other animated Disney movies should be left alone instead of getting the dumb live action/CGI treatment.
reply

I was quite expecting to see the times when Nancy Cartwright replaced Christine Cavanaugh as Chuckie Finsters voice and when Dave Coulier replaced Lorenzo Music as Peter Venkmans voice
reply

Ok you guys screwed up again.
Jimmy Macdonald took over mickey mouse from walt disney. Wayne alwine didn't become mickeys voice until after McDonald. Get your facts straight

reply

Matthew Lillard replaced Casey Kasem as the voice of Shaggy Rogers in the Scooby-Doo Franchise. Sure, he's not the first replacement, but he is probably the best one yet.
reply

Something that was left out of the Meg Griffin part: In the pilot episode Meg was voiced by Seth MacFarlanes sister Rachel, after that Lacey Chabert and then Mila Kunis
reply

I never watched the second Aladdin movie because there was only one Genie. I did watch the live movie and Will Smith was good but still not as good as Robin Williams.
