Im really surprised Annie Hall is not on this list. At first, I thought it was because of Woody Allens involvement, but Vickie Cristina Barcelona is mentioned in the honorable mentions
Also, if youre going to include La La Land, which would then qualify musical comedies as romantic comedies, there are quite a few more that should be added to your list, such as An American in Paris.

Romantic Comedy. Romance HAS to have a Happily Ever After (or Happily for Now) ending. La La Land lacks that requisite feature. And Silver Lining Playbook and The Apartment are not comedies. They are dramas (with some laughs) that dip hard into tragedy, but pull out a happy ending by the time the credits roll.

Richard Gere's character in Pretty Woman would have hired a high-class girl, not one from the street. It makes no sense that he hires her for a ridiculous amount of time, then puts so much effort into classing her up. For less time, money & effort, her could have hired an already classy girl.

Saving Private Ryan was robbed. Shakespeare in Love was an okay movie, but it did not beat Ryan. Every time I watch Saving Private Ryan, I do think about the Harvey's and how Spielberg was cheated. I'm not a Rom Com gal. My fav is Grosse Pointe Blank. I'm all about John Hughes.

Im so happy you included Silver Linings Playbook which I adore. Its full of crazy in practically every scene but full of heart too. Best Romcom of the 21st century for me. Cher totally deserved her Oscar, plus Moonstruck has many lawyers and its an excellent movie.

How does a classic like When Harry Met Sally only get an honorable mention but La La Land is number two? What in the world? No one quotes La La Land but everyone knows I'll have what she's having it. Do better, Ms. Mojo. smh

I dont think this one was nominated for an American Oscar but I still really love fFur Weddings and a Funeral! It did; however, win a few British oscars. Such great acting in chemistry between Hugh Grant and Andie MacDowell!

they didn't make movies like this anymore, i still think Tom Cruise should have won the oscar instead Gooding Jr and what about Terms of Endearment Shirley MacLaine & Jack Nicholson won the oscar for that great movie

A lot of people complain about Cher's Oscar win and say Glenn Close should've won for Fatal Attraction instead, but I applaud the Academy's decision. Cher really did deserve it that year. So did Olympia Dukakis.

Snap out of it! I had the pleasure of viewing Moonstruck recently, and it's definitely one of the most charming rom coms I've ever seen, with excellent leading performances from Cher and Nicolas Cage!

Seriously? La La Land is not a rom-com. sure, the movie has some comedic moments, but its mainly a musical romance drama. And the same (minor the musical part of course) goes for Jerry Maguire.

Moonstruck is a wonderful movie where all the players were on point. Just to say, Cher was seriously righteous in both Moonstruck AND Mermaids - both being two of my all time favorite movies

I was hoping The Goodbye Girl would have a nod. Not necessarily top spot, but it's one of my obscure favorites! Richard Dreyfuss definitely deserved that Oscar in 1978!
