As much as I like T. H. U. G. movie & book (yes I saw them in that chronological order) for exposing African-American issues, the ones who weren't displayed in previous movies, to us non Americans I still feel that, albeit condemning the murder, police force actions trying to justify the act, racist karen former friend & the racist murderer policeman, movie tried to justify Khalils murder. Like in a you know he was a dealer, didn't listen to Starr (part that wasn't in book, & was a bit vain way. That seems wrong since that wasn't in the book

As someone who went thru the same thing as Charlie, saying he was mistreated. is honestly disgusting. That movie helped me come out abt it and go to the police, like you said, these are teen movies, not kids, it's not Disney Princesses, say it as it is, it was rape, molestation, grooming and SA, pls have enough decency to not sugarcoat it and downsize it. It's a rough and tough subject, but ignoring it isn't going to make it nicer or shinier.

Charlie realizing what happened to him as a child by his aunt in The Perks of Being a Wallflower is so heartbreaking. I watched the movie first before reading the book and I was shocked at what happened to Charlie. It was so sad to watch. As well as seeing the part right after where he calls his sister and then after talking to her, he thinks of harming himself.

Say the actual words, molestation, murder, abuse, rape, death, suicide. You are making light of such heavy issues. These things need to be said! Either make a video and USE THE ACTUAL WORDS or don't make a video at all! YOU ARE INVALIDATING PEOPLE WHO HAVE SUFFERED THESE TRAUMATIC AND TRAGIC EVENTS!

The domestic violence in Black Balloon after the brother with autism exposes himself to his brothers teen girlfriend, traumatizing her, and the following fight is graphic and brutal between brothers followed by the autistic brother self harming by bashing his own head

I'm actually reading the hate you give and had no idea that there was a movie adaption. I almost started crying in the middle of class when I read about him getting shot. It's surreal to see that the way I pictured the scene in my head was somewhat accurate to that clip.

What about Cyberbully? Cyberbully 2011, with Emily Osment, Kay Panabaker! Cyberbully is about a teenager (Emily Osment) who is a victim of Cyberbully and tries to commit suicide. Its a deep emotional movie that has a lot of depth.

Was Thirteen an upsetting movie because Holly Hunter and Evan Rachel Wood were fighting intervening with each other but was Precious a laugh-out-loud funny movie because Mo'Nique and Gabourey Sidibe were fighting with each other?
reply

They didnt even show the part theyre talking about. The perks of being a wallflower where he breaks down is so hauntingly beautiful and crafted well. If youre going to show a montage of dark moments actually show the moments
reply

The same thing happen to me like it happen to Charlie in perks of being a wallflower. So I cant watch the movie because of a triggering thing about child abuse. Im 29 and I still have mental health issues about my trauma
reply

I don't think Heather's should be on this list, or at least swapped with one of the earlier entries. It's a dark comedy, it's meant to be shocking and horrible for laughs. But every other entry tackles serious issues
reply

In the future, can you give trigger warnings for these types of videos? Many I have not experienced but I still think a trigger warning would be a good thing to have on this Chanel and not just spoiler alerts.
reply

more like dramatic gut wretching heartbroken moments in teen dramas way too many deaths in yet jd and heather should've gotten arrested instead of not even though no one knew wrong for all of it this entire list
reply

The outsiders. man. it was hard to see dally and Johnny's death when I was 13 (it's been 10 years in October since I first watched it. I owe two books and the movie but I will always be part of that fandom.
reply

Darkest moments being fairly common experiences that a lot of people have to deal with, from abuse to PTSD.
They arent dark, they are far kinder than the actual experiences we live through.

If you're gonna talk about dark elements. When Veronica burned herself, and JD used the burn to light his cigarette. Highlights how JD is a monster who did not truly care about Veronica.

Where's the ending to Rebel Without a Cause? And why are we not calling the scene at #10 what it truly is. Charlie wasn't just mistreated as a child, he was raped by his aunt
reply

I can never get through perks of being a wallflower without sobbing, Charlie is the first character I have deeply resonated with and everything he went through
reply

Top pick being- omg we have aids
Honestly Id rank literally ANY of the others and even honourable mentions as harder to watch and more emotional than that.

I'm so happy the Outsiders is on here it is my favorite book and one of my favorite movies I was so surprised to see it on a list stay gold Ponyboy stat gold
reply

Dang I forgot that doughboy didn't survive.
I've watched perks of being a wallflower 2 times, great movie.
I forgot about dally's death too.

reply

If you thinks Perks of being a Wallflower is bad, NEVER watch Mysterious Skin (or precious. They are both some of the most horrific movies Ive seen
reply

I wld personally put perks a bit higher since what really happened to him was so much worse it's heartbreaking and you want to hope he's okay.
reply

I never understood why Dally did what he did when I read the book or saw the movie but I'm guessing he was trying to commit suicide by cop.
reply

I feel like this video should have a trigger warning. Like I know the title is kind of a foreshadowing of some of the contents but still
reply

Also Bully should not just be an honorable mention and where was Rickys death in Boyz n the Hood? Replace perks and elephant plz
reply

I think you dont get how bad assult is, you treat it like its the most normal out of it when its the cruelest besides murder
reply

Dear Lord, Precious doesn't need a specific dark moment.
It IS a dark moment.
One of the most hearbreaking movies.

reply

You know if you were considering international movie I think Rang De Basanti, a hindi movie, would make the list as well.
reply
