You're a pro when you can pull off these difficult dance moves. For this list, well be looking at the most complex maneuvers from all genres of dance. Our countdown includes cabriole, headspin, grand adage, and more! What do YOU think is the most difficult dance move?

When ya'll put grande adagio before grande jete, I think I burst out laughing, but yeah, seeing as grande jete is one of the first things we learn and every ballerina has learned to DREAD adagio, I think that those should be swapped, but that's just my opinion. But I geneally agree other than that. Some other hard dance moves are italian fouettes, toe hops, adittude turns, and pretty much any petite allegro combination. This was so fun to watch. Thanks!

Fun fact, those videos alleging a grande jete? More than half of them actually show a saut de chat. Theyre very similar moves, but the saut de chat is FAR easier. The distinction lies in whether the dancer drives their front leg upward with the knee locked from the beginning or if the leg flicks up from bent. Its a lot harder to get height with a fully straight leg.

The only reason I know how to do a few of these is because I started young. After years and years of training they become muscle memory, so long as you keep up the body strength to do it. I have a huge respect for dancers of all genres, especially late starters. They spend hours and hours practicing to get a single move down. Incredible dedication.

I would bet that most people watching will find something they have done themselves much harder than something they else, looks. The break dance moves, which I am sure are very difficult, dont look that hard when you have no idea! Just spinning around? On the other hand, a Grande Adage, a series of 32 Foutte? No contest!

I feel you guys didn't speak to actually experienced dancers before making this list.
I am pretty disappointed I was click-baited into watching this. if you had said hey - here are some kinda difficult dance moves we've seen on film. fine.
Not MOST difficult.
Also En Pointe is a style not a move

Ive been doing ballet for over 10 years and peches fuattes and grand jetes arent very tricky(sorry for the spell mistakes) there are so many tricky ballet steps and combinations but not really these i can do most of these steps ( the tap ones included) and Im only 14

Yeahas a dancer myself, I feel like whoever created this list has never made it past a beginner dance class in their lifesorry, but I couldnt disagree more with this list and actually burst out laughing a couple of times keep trying though Ms. Mojo

I am a dancer, and:
1: Paddle and roll is SO SIMPLE/EASY
2: Grand adage you need strength, flexibility, and resistant's
3: flare, you must be a super human cuz I could NEVER
The rest you really need like 3-5 years of dance training

Its also very funny to see how the non-dancers are praising how hard these moves are, but the dancers are like uh. This is the basics. (nothing mean by saying this! I love that people are recognizing how hard other sports are)

I wouldn't wish to be a male for any other reason than to know what it is like to be a guy dancing. To experience that vitality and power. I've always felt, weighing everything, they have the best moves.
reply

As a dancer, many of these things are the foundations of what I do now, especially the tap steps. I also teach and the three year olds can easily do shuffles and paddle and rolls or paradiddles
reply

we do a prettier version of the monkey flip in contemporary at my studio (we call them flickovers) and we do a split while our legs are in the air. it's one of my new favorite dance moves!
reply

Check out the world title winners of ball room dancers Michael Malitowski and Joanna Leunis. They do some very complicated foot work but what is amazing they have to do this in sync.
reply

Just came back from Dracula practice at the South Carolina Ballet today. I was bleeding from my feet and got a perfectly stunning penche which I was just absolutely proud of: )
reply

All of these ballet moves are easy except for fouetes sometimes, personally I think that echappe sautes and courus en pointe should be atleast an honourable mention
reply

They chose the wrong Ballet steps to showcase (besides the Cabriole. Gargouillade, Revoltade, Grande jete en tournant and Tours should be up there.
reply

and I would also like to inform you that the MONKEY FLIP is actually called a Valdez if your using in jazz or contemporaryor any other style that is hip hop
reply

student ballerina here - penche, grand jete, and arabesque (while difficult to the average person) are by no means some of the hardest ballet moves.
reply

So one Jazz and a split of Ballet and Break dancing was all you could muster? So many dance moves and this was all you could lazily put together?
reply

that monkey flip is just a Valdez. a balance beam or floor exercise move. Denise Bileman used to do those scorpions while spinning on skates.
reply

I think you got some of the sequences of difficulty wrong, and there are many more difficult dance moves out there. in various genres for sure.
reply

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but arabesque is so easy, non-dancers can do it. with practice, of course. Easiest step to pick up.
reply

so lame to compare Ballet to that. While it takes considerable strength to do the two are polar opposites and should not be compared.
reply

whoever made this list, is not a dancer lol, Most 3 year olds can do the paddle and roll, which I dont even think its called that lol
reply

Great list! And a credit to the people who are talented to make it look so easy - when it's so very obviously not. These are athletes!
reply

5: 23 i tried and got a cramp/charlie horse. In a weird place too. In like my hip/upper buttock area lol AHHHHH! Both sides lol.
reply

For Tap dancers you should have shown who did it best were the Nicholas Brothers they made it seem so easy, flawless & it wasnt
reply

To me ballet is still in the top of the list, either cabriolet or grand jete, grand adage, arabesques. or any other move
reply

That head spin can be much easier if you stop moving your head and just turn youre body alone! You'll die but it's worth it
reply

The monkey flip is a joke because have you ever tried a Valdez? Arguably a lot harder and needs 100x more flexibility.
