I would have added my favorite, Barbra Streisand.
She won a Grammy award for her first record album, which was called, appropriately, The Barbra Streisand Album. (1963)
I think she won a few other Grammys over the years.
She won an Emmy for her first television special, My Name Is Barbra. (1965)
She won an Oscar for Best Actress for her first motion picture, Funny Girl (1968, which was based on her Broadway musical of the same title.
But while she was nominated for a Tony for Best Actress In A Musical for the Broadway version of Funny Girl (1964, as well as one for Best Supporting Actress In A Musical for I Can Get It For You Wholesale (1962, she didn't win either one, but in 1969, she was awarded a special Tony for Entertainer Of The Decade. Incidentally, I Can Get For You Wholesale featured Barbra's future first husband, Elliot Gould, the father of her only child, Jason Gould. Barbra and Elliot divorced in 1971. She's married to actor James Brolin now.
I think she and Paul Williams won an Oscar for the song Evergreen, from her 1976 film, A Star Is Born, as well as a few Golden Globes (she lost the Globe for Best Actress In A Comedy or Musical for Yentl, but she won for Best Director for the same film; I think she and Clint Eastwood won special Golden Globes in 1969 or 1970.
In 1965, a group of former actresses who appeared in the many Ziegfeld Follies shows in the late 19th Century and the early 20th Century named Barbra Miss Ziegfeld of that year, because her character in Funny Girl was actress and comedian Fanny Brice, herself a Ziegfeld girl. I once saw a photo of Barbra dressed in a white gown and wearing her Miss Ziegfeld crown on her head.
A year after winning her Oscar for Funny Girl, Barbra appeared at the Academy Awards ceremony again, this time as a presenter. It was she who handed the Best Actor Oscar to John Wayne for True Grit (1969.

AlthoughbI disagree with 90% of your musical presentations, I never answer. This one I had to say something about.
You have Robert Lopez being an Honorable Mention, which is the largest travesty I have seen, yet.
Robert Lopez:
First to become a Double EGOT
Youngest to achieve EGOT status
Fastest achievement at 9 years
He only needs a single Academy Award to reach TRIPLE EGOT.
And, he got an Honorable Mention?
Andrew Lloyd Webber (all genuflect in reverent awe, whom you have as #1:
Has ONE Oscar (Robert has two)
Has ONE Emmy (Robert has three)
Took 38 years to get his (Robert took nine)
Was in his 70's (Robert was in his 30's)
Though I am a mostly hard rock/metal musician (as you can tell be my photo, I am also extremely well versed in most other forms of music, including stage musicals. I worship at the altar of Lord Webber.
You got this so completely wrong.

That is not Jonathan Tunick in the video clip! I believe it is Peter Stone, who also won a Tony for the musical Titanic (and whose wife is indeed named Mary, whereas Tunick's wife is Leigh Beery. Mentioning a 5-year genesis should have been a giveaway, as an orchestrator does not get involved until relatively late in the process. Jonathan Tunick is eminently worth honoring, but this is a very shabby way to do it.
reply

Audra McDonald and Cynthia Erivo should do a musical film together as a musical duo so they can win Oscars as best actress and best supporting actress so they can both reach EGOT status. Tracy Morgan should get recognized in some way for coining the phrase EGOT. Side note: Cynthia Erivo is the only entertainer to win three of the four major awards within one year for the same project.

I feel Bo Burnham could easily join this list, he has Grammy's and Emmys, and as a director he has shown great potential, winning awards, just not an Oscar. And as for a Tony, this is easily something that he could win at some point. He could even win a Pulitzer, he is still young, heck he could win a Nobel prize too such is the importance of his work
reply

All these people deserve these Awards, but I want to send a special shout out to Jennifer hudson, pretty damn good for someone who came in 7th on her season on American Idol, I think things worked out good for her LOL she's a powerhouse and an amazing talent. And Rita Moreno, she's just a legend and I just adore her
reply

I just have to put it out that the Academy robbed Lin-Manuel Miranda of an Oscar. He could've easily been at the top half of this list. Sue me.
Edit: Considering that this guy already has a MacArthur Grant and a Pulitzer prize, even a Kennedy Center honor. I mean, come on! This guy's a national treasure!

reply

Lin-Manuel Miranda should've won his Oscar both times he was nominated #LinWasRobbedTwice #GiveLinHisOscar
he did a fantastic job with both Moana and Encanto respectively
Once Lin gets his EGOT, he will have one hell of a record. Not only will he be an EGOT, he will be a MacPEGOT

I know a few others who are missing an award that should achieve EGOT status:
. Quincy Jones
. Common
. Hugh Jackman
. Cher
. Barbara Streisand
. Julie Andrews
. Dick Van Dyke
. Marc Shaiman
. Elton John
. Lin Manuel-Miranda

It's more impressive when you actually perform (write, sing, act, etc) to win these collection of awards. And, it's also more impressive when you get it for different works instead of double dipping and winning the multiple awards for the same thing.
reply

A real EGOT winner is the one that only have won for the same profession. Now everyone can be a EGOT? Seriously, why is Jennifer Hudson in this top 10? Is she a singer? Is she a producer? Is she an actress? she has now an uneven career
reply

I think its funny Ben Platt won an Emmy, Tony, and a Grammy just with Evan Hansen. Had the movie been liked more and his performance worthy of an Oscar he could have been an EGOT off of one show! That would have been historical.
reply

It's difficult to pick top 10, however I do think you slighted Lopez, who you mentioned won the EGOT status twice. Also, it doesn't seem equal when someone was part of a team in a category instead of a solo performance or skill.
reply

Waiting for Lin-Manuel Miranda to get his EGOT (only needs an Oscar. He also has a Pulitzer so he will be the third ever PEGOT winner when he does. Marvin Hamlisch and Richard Rodgers are the only PEGOT winners so far.
reply

I would like to see Lin Manual Miranda and Matt Stone and Trey Parker get the EGOT. They are one award from having the EGOT. Yes Trey Parker and Matt Stone the creators of South Park are in the running for an EGOT.
reply

I'm hoping for Cyndi Lauper to get an EGOT. She has the Grammy, Tony and Emmy already, just needs an Oscar. Lin Manuel Miranda needs an Oscar as well to get his.
reply

Are you kidding? Robert Lopez won 2 of each award, and he's only in the honorable mention list? He should be number 1! He's the first and only (so far) double EGOT!
reply

jhud win for tony was rigged.
she paid to be in the producers' list only.
she was never directly involved.
this is like an investment to secure the award.

reply

What a strange countdown, especially since the full list isnt even twice as long. It just means that living/more currently popular EGOT recipients make the list.
reply

I feel Lin-Manuel Miranda got robbed of EGOT status twice.
Nominated twice for the Oscars, but didnt win neither. That wouldve assured him his status!

reply

True it was on a technicality with an honorary Tony, but the only mention of the first EGOT winner (Barbra Streisand) was during Marvin Hamlisch is a crime.
reply

Soooooooo the FIRST WOMAN to become an EGOT WINNER was merely an HONORABLE MENTION on this MS MOJO list? MMMMMMKAAAAAAY I'll go finish cooking dinner now.
reply

I'm so happy for Jennifer Hudson! Cynthia Erivo is really about to become the next one doing history as the youngest to get it & the fastest to do so.
reply

Im offended on Robert Lopezs behalf. Hes the only person to have won not once but twice, yet he doesnt even make your list? Come on, do better
reply

You can't argue with those top two! It seems EGOT needed Andrew Lloyd Webber more than the other way around. Lin-Manuel Miranda should be next!
reply

10 seconds for TIm Rice that it. Think about who wrote the Lyrics for Joseph, Superstar, Evita Chess, Aladdin and The Lion King that's Tim Rice.
reply

Robert Lopez is the only person to ever double EGOT and he's not number 1? And do we really need to talk about ALW right now? Ugh, honestly.
reply

Lin-Manuel Miranda has got to win an Oscar for best song eventually. Hes already made two of the best Disney soundtracks ever made.
reply

Richard Rodgers, Audrey Hepburn, Mel Brooks, Rita Moreno, a true legend, Alan Menkin maybeok but John Legend and Whoopi Goldberg? What a joke!
reply

Lin Manuel Miranda and viola Davis is next to be inducted into his list, And also I can see Ariana Debose I think this list too
