It saddens me that so many body shamers think that being overweight is only because the person chooses a poor diet and chooses not to exercise. It goes so much deeper into the psyche than that as well as medical conditions, particularly with the heart, liver, and lungs, and some antipsychotics make you gain weight like crazy! So does some BC. Life happens and it's really weird for me to see that others don't realize that. Injuries happen, medical conditions happen, mental illnesses happen, lifestyle changes happen, pregnancy happens, not working through childhood trauma happen, poverty happens, life happens- all reasons why people can stay heavier or gain weight.
If you have an issue with someone's weight, use your uber toned muscles in your uber fit neck and look the other way. Someone else's body is not yours to comment on. How would you like people to pick apart every detail about you that you likely already see as a flaw and are insecure about? Is that the kind of world you want to live in? Is that the kind of person you want to be- to tell someone that they're too imperfect for YOUR standards despite not being asked.
Get a life assholes.

I'm sorry, but can someone please explain to me why there was any controversy made at all over Lady Gaga exposing her midriff in the 2017 Superbowl performance? I'm not understanding or seeing the problem.
What exactly was the debate or heated conversation over specifically, in regards to it, anyways?
TBH She looked fabulous and was perfectly toned and physically fit to wear anything back then, so why was there some controversy, let alone any at at all? She looks gorgeous now and she looked gorgeous then.
I'm just having a hard time wrapping my head around somebody actually having an issue here. There's nothing to have an issue over, in my own opinion. (And prob millions of other's opinions, as well)

Remember Mallory Hagan? She was a Miss America who got fat-shamed when somebody posted a beach photo of her a few months after she was crowned. People were speculating about whether she was pregnant or not, (one nasty man even posted the comment Moo) or whether she ought to even be allowed to finish her year as Miss America! She didn't really clap back, but she did post that bodies change over time, and that having eaten only greens and fish while competing, she ought to be allowed to eat real food afterward!
And for the record. anybody who struts like royalty _is_ royalty, no matter what size they are. To all those who basically said F% the haters. Amen!

You say I'm too fat, you say I'm too skinny
You say I'm not cool, you say I'm not pretty
Then you spread it all around
And post it online for the whole world to see
Why, why you wanna make me cry
And laugh at me like that?
Does it make you feel good making me feel so bad?
Hey, bully
Did someone hurt you
Make you feel small?
You take it out on me
'Cause it makes you feel tall
I bet you're scared and alone
If you looked in my eyes, you'd see
Hey, bully, you're a lot like me

Media are so rude, these people are human beings, they have no rights treating stars like this, even fans needs to learn also need to learn respect these stars as well, how about humanity, these famous people does not need crap from others, for once relise we all humans, Death Threats are not necessary definitely when it comes to Rebecca Black, leave them alone, I have enough of Media and fans and all they are doing is incredibly rude and erigant and that's all, and they are giving everyone entertainment, seriously

I get so pissed off when some ass wipe criticizes a female celebrity for their flaws that I feel compelled to comment. Like I'm doing now, except when I'm pissed off I tend to use language that can get me booted from most platforms. So I am forced to check myself and a lot of times I just can't tone it down so, in the end, I leave it alone and make no comment at all. Then I feel bad because I wasn't able to show support for whoever was the victim. Privately, behind the scenes though, I am seething.

Proud of these girls because in the end another person's opinion is just that doesn't matter in your life. I get dog because I went from a size 3 to a size 18 nobody stopped to ask well hell you're 60 and got no thyroid nothing they just keep dogging me so here's my response when you can look in the mirror and you can take a picture and you can prove to me that you're the most beautiful body on the planet then you can say something to me otherwise shut the hell up
reply

Every body is different, and they are all beautiful in their own way. Different people will be attracted to different attributes, but that just means that everyone has something to offer someone. Those who claim to speak for the masses need to stop promoting unrealistic body images and accept that the human experience is more nuanced than their superficial standards may imply.

Definitely should seen P! nk on that list, who has been poked and talked down at constantly by the media, for being too strong, or muscular, etc, a fact she herself has made a point of emphasising her lack of care about and unwillingness to change to please others, particularly during a fantastic speech she made in honor of her own young daughter, during a red-carpet appearance.
reply

#10 I thought she looked fine
#9 media and paparazzi are trash
#8 she's always been so fine
#7 how is she too big?
#6 she looks beautiful, I love em thicc
#5 that's f#%ed up
#4 dont know enough. Cant comment
#3 she's perfect at any size
#2 she looks better after losing that weight
#1 she NEEDS to lose weight. Her obesity will be the end of her

The simple word too should not be used for a discription of anyone. Even if you think you are complimenting a person, as soon as the word too is used it is the exact opposite. In fact how a person looks is an individual opinion. Have you heard the saying Beauty is in the eye of the beholder? It is the most true saying that has carried over for generations!
reply

Raise your hand if you look in the mirror and immediately begin judging and criticizing your appearance. It is part of our culture and it is MESSED UP! I'm glad these celebs are speaking out and clapping back. What a strange culture we live in where attractive people like Jen Anniston, Beyonce, Selena Gomez, are criticized for their appearance?
reply

Ok constant harassment is of course wrong and over the top, but, still. if we had more Fat Shaming in society I guarantee there would be less Obesity around, particularly here in the US. Look at Japan and some other Asian Countries, even some Eastern European countries, where they tend to be a lot less overweight on average.
reply

Ummmm I hope the ppl shaming realize that when they're done spewing it out online, they get to go make a hotpocket while the celebrities get to go home and have their toes licked by beautiful people. like c'mon turds, they could have the weirdest bodies ever and their lives are still gonna be way better than yours LOL.
reply

Body shaming was never cool, neither it is nor it will be. Applies to all genders. The losers think that they won by targetting certain people. Nope, the joke is on them who actually feels victorious by body shaming. They forget someday, their own body might go out of shape and collapse. What goes around comes around.
reply

If people can not say anything nice about someone they should keep their damn mouth shut.
If you have to disrespect other people to feel good about yourself, then you invite others to disrespect you in return.
Give to others, what you want to be given.
Say to others what you want them to say about you.

reply

You gain weight there's a problem, you lose the weight you have a problem. I think people need to stop listening to these critics, if you are healthy enjoy your weight (big or small) please.
When we don't give voice to these critics they will get frustrated and eventually shut up

reply

If I would to get publicly criticized for body shaming, I'm just gonna say: I'll get there, I guarantee ya, but, just to remind you, I love myself and when I say(myself. you don't have to rebuttle because. whatever you say doesn't apply to me. (Removed post)
reply

I don't care how someone looks. but I do worry about their health if they're very over or under weight. Too often kids idolize celebrities and try to emulate them. It's great to accept and love your body, but maybe be more careful with the messaging.
reply

I've never been what you would call beautiful, after my 1st daughter was born I put on a lot of weight. I've never really worried about what other people thought of me as far as my body was concerned. They don't like it, they can just suck it!
reply

Honestly, as huge P! nk fan, her body positivity messages should be on this list. Also, the fact that skinny people are called fat is concerning and says a lot about society. Stay in your lane when talking about someone elses body, periodt!
reply

It's so sad to live in this world where people feel so much internal shame that they have the need to pour it over others that are just living their life and being everything that the haters will never be. Look inwards people.
reply

The answer is - be careful what you criticise. Because ultimately it could be you. We are all different. Thank goodness. And once we embrace that difference, the world will be a far more interesting and nice place.
reply

I would have liked to see Lili Reinhart and Jennifer Lawrence. They are both very down to earth and their clap backs are iconic especially when someone is commenting on their appearance
reply

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I would have given anything for these women (Lizzo especially) to have been around in my youth. I am sooooo glad they are for my daughters.
reply

The only thing wrong with the tulle gown I foundIT MADE ME WANT TO SCRATCHlol anyone that was forced to wear a collar to this kind of dress knows the need for cortisone cream
reply

Hats off to Lizzo. She has received so much flack but still carries on. Yes if skinny people are ridiculed for the way they look, God help the rest of us.
reply

Singer Anastacia. She not only sported a killer voice but most of the time wore midriff outfits to highlight her very visible appendix scar.
reply

When the west has started body positivity and self acceptance, here come Kpop with ant waist, super white skin and non-sense visual standard
reply

I blame the media for the uncool way that they advertise things. I also blame photoshop for the unrealistic ways people morph the bodies.
