9: 56 Of this entire list of movies that I've watched one each, the one that has moved me the most is unequivocally Remember Me. Throughout this film although mundane, this family drama can already inevitably resonate loudly in the viewers heart. It makes you realize that life is far from being a smooth ride, tragedies happen, mistakes are made, easy judgments hurt, but in the end, we feel and grow, as long as we allow ourselves introspection to understand the meaning we want to give to our life despite everything that surrounds us, everything that has happened to us or our surroundings.
At the final sequence of this film, we have a light heart, because each person has taken the time to feel and grow, to finally move forward. Then, there is this date that appears on the board, this date that I didn't even realize, that I read without reading, without making the connection. Then we see Tyler (Robert Pattinson) coming to stand in front of his father's office windows. Then there is this camera movement. Little by little, we see the Twin Towers appear, and that's when it hit me, when the date on the board was brought back to my mind and suddenly, I couldn't stop crying. I had only just understood and it was terrible to admit what was going to happen. To then see one by one the reactions of the characters, it was so poignant. To project the fact that this happened to thousands of people, it was heartbreaking. I was almost sick after watching it and thought about it for days afterwards.
That's why this movie is worth watching, this ending is innovative. It does justice to the lives of thousands of people who were overwhelmed by more or less complicated daily lives like Tyler and for whom everything collapsed suddenly one morning, despite the hope.
Just watching this excerpt gave me chills and a heavy heart.

The mortal instruments movie and book series are amazing. You just fall into them and you can't stop until you're finished with them. The sibling plot twist; was in my opinion, much better illustrated in the movie though. In the book it was kind of like they're dating and then BAHM! Jace is like You're my sister now. You don't see how he came to believe that, we're just told that Valentine told him and then they follow the siblings in love thing with no sign that they aren't until the third book. You don't see why Valentine decided to lie to him about that, or how Jace believed him so quickly. In the movie we learn Hodge suggested it, how Valentine convinced Jace and more of how horrible Valentine is. In the movie you can tell that they aren't siblings, or it's easier than in the books, all the books say is how Jace doesn't look like Clary, Jocelyn, or Valentine. It made it seem less weird, wrong and a little less sudden.

I'm sorry but if you decide to insert HP (honestly could have been off the list since it's not exclusively addressed to a teenage audience in my opinion but ok) there are tons of mind-blowing plot twists from the series of movies (SPOILER AHEAD: Harry is a damn horcrux for christ' sake lol) certainly more mind-blowing than the Maze runner being an experiment. I mean c'mon, why else would a bunch of teens be put in a place like that?
reply

Im surprised that you bothered to include the city of bones reveal at all. The whole thing was pretty much moot since the audience was told in advanced that it was just further manipulation from the movie villain. Also, the film itself was just not good; a vivid example of how Hollywood will often assume that spectacle and eye candy can substitute a consistent story and genuine talent.

Honestly, I was PISSED with the Remember Me reveal. There was nothing in the advertising that showed that the plot was happening around 9/11. There are thousands of people still dealing with the PTSD from 9/11, and they and the victims deserved better than that. I still can't believe they did that without any kind of warning that the film could be triggering. PTSD isn't a joke
reply

how is the maze runner reveal shocking?
they're in a maze trying to crack it and they literally were being sent in one by one from that elevator thing which was also their way to recieve stuff from SOMEONE
this SCREAMS someone was in control of this for some sick motive/fun entertainment, like it's so obvious someone was in control of it. logically

To this day I can not watch Remember Me. This is not the only sad movie on here, but this one really hit at my heart when I watched it. I was just 13 when those planes hit, but I remember that day. I didn't live there, but all I could think about was all those
people who died and wondering if my state would be next.

reply

I had not read the twilight books when I watched the movies. So to me the battle, all the family/friends who had died made perfect sense. It really pissed me off when everything was revealed to be a vision. And now that I've read the books, it made it even worse. There was nothing lost, no sacrifice, no real battle.
reply

Remember's ending is so bad, they put something to bump into an extremely boring movie.
That ending was like a big reveal to give something exciting to a weak production and it was totally out of context. An ending that has no connection with the film itself, in order to generate something like: Wow! My God!

The Maze wasnt really a suprise. I mean, who thought that its how the world goes that young boys live in the middle of a maze with killing robots sorrounding them? In Divergent on the other hand, it was shocking that Chicago was a part of an experiment (and in opposite of the films, Tris didn't survive)
reply

Most of these shocking reveals weren't that shocking because I'd read the books. I don't know if the movie makers didn't do a good job with the plot twist or if it was because I already knew.
Also, it might be a bit cringey but the way Snape says always always gets me

Man, this is the end of an era. I wanna say that after 2015, we haven't seen anything like it anymore. Nowadays, in terms of franchises, teens have a bunch of bad teen Netflix movies starring TikTok influencers: (
(I still have hopes for Shadow and Bone though)

My biggest rage against a movie plot twist was in One Day, after decades of both characters denying their feelings, losing eachother only to be reunited over and over again and then they finally be happy together about to start a family AND BOOM TRUCK i was FUMING MAD
reply

They spell out the ending of Remember Me in the first 5 minutes. Even the director said it wasn't supposed to be a shock, that it was always a 9/11 movie. And it ties together the whole point and purpose of the movie: What do you want to be remembered for?
reply

Why wasn't Breaking Dawn Part 2 higher on the list? I mean, I despise the trilogy (BDP2 is the only one I can bring myself to like) and yet I'm rooting for this movie. I literally had a hollow feeling in my gut watching Seth, Leah, and Carlisle die.
reply

3: 40 movie goers did get an answer to whether To Jace and Clary were siblings in the same movie, in a conversation between the guy from the institute and Valentine it was said If you lie to them and tell them they're siblings. worse execution ever
reply

a movie about two cancer kids and you're shocked that one of them got cancer in the end? Yes, it was such a gut-wrenching moment, but not at all surprised. The premise was never going to be a happy ending based on the reality that they have cancer.
reply

Every teen movie is just playing someone dying of cancer after making someone else fall in love. it's hard to count how many movies are the same thing. But I watch and cry anyway.
In My Girl the death with the bees was more creative.

reply

I would say that scene in Its a Sin where the mum tells the friends that he wanted to see them and then just says that he died when she meets up with him. I would've put that in front of Maze Runner
reply

The Twilight plot twist was still the funniest I can remember. Everyone in the cinema had a break down, was screaming and crying like nuts and I started laughing. so my friend punched me in the face.
reply

You guys forgot that Peter Pettigrew was alive and disguised as Rons pet Rat, and was the real person that turned the Potters over to Voldemort in Harry Potter 3 that was such a shock as a kid!
reply

the twilight one shocked me the most! I actually cried during the battle and remember going wild when Seth and Edward died but I got really angry when I found out that I was crying for no reason
reply

With the twilight battle i totally forget that in the book it was al a vision. I was so sad and shocked while watching it. And relieved when it was a vision.
reply

I will never forget the collective horror that was in the movie theater of Breaking Dawn pt 2 and the audible clapping and cheering when it was a vision.
reply

That is why you should read the books first for context. None, none are faithful adaptations because of time. Then people react ridiculously and rudely.
reply

Its been 10 years down and i still don't understand why almost everyone in twilight movies whisper. Whom they were afraid would hear their words.
reply

I mean though, if you read the books, its not too much of a shock. Trust me though, when I read it in the books
reply

I dont think you remember me got the credit is deserved that was an excellent movie and blew me away at the end
reply

I love any romance movies and shows my favorite is probably the twilight movie movies from Maddie Beacham
reply

Some of these movies broke me watching them for the 1st time and I still get emotional over some of them.
