It's not ironic that michael mastro mourinho died of bone cancer, it's coincidence. Irony would be like someone becoming a doctor to prevent people from dying only to become known as a doctor who unintentionally kills all his patients in one way or another. The key to understanding irony is the intent of what someone says or does vs the outcome.
No shock there, a catholic priest guilty of murder, catholics are known for their murderous rampages

Season 12, Episode 3 (Bittersweet) was taken from the Paul Bernardo/Karla Homolka case in Canada in the late 80s, early 90s. I used to drive over the bridge where they found Leslie Mahaffy's body parts encased in concrete to get to work from Welland to St Catharines. Did you skip this in your recap because they're Canadian?

I honestly prefer the CSY NY due to being a Gary fan since forest gump. He lost his wife in 911 and the show humbled him. The two women whom worked in the lab both survived seperate crimes but became strong and brilliant. However all shows had there merits and they were all so smart.

Idk about the case it was inspired from, but in Gentle, Gentle it was nothing malicious but the family protecting Robby from having his whole life destroyed by an accident. The Mom confessed to killing her child and was about to be thrown in jail when CSI discovered the truth.

I remember seeing Blood Drops during a forensic class in high school. When Grissom discovered what Buffalo meant, everyone in my class either gasped or let out disgusted cries. Pretty sure everybody left that class a little nauseous.

What's interesting is that Marg Helgenberger, who played Willows in CSI, was also in Erin Brockovich where she played one of the Hinkley residents who'd developed various cancers because of the contaminated water

I love the franchise. I learned so much from this show. They took the stories from the news, personal stuff too. Forensics is quite fascinating. Loving the new CSI series, Vegas. I've seen all these episodes.

You can do a top 20 list of CSI episodes inspired by real crimes. For instance, the episode Bittersweet in season 12 is similar to the case of Karla Homolka (I think that was her name) in Canada.

If you wanna do another list theres an episode called Empty Eyes where several showgirls where found murdered in their shared house and was inspired by the Richard Speak murders in 1966.

Wasn't there an episode based on the case of a pedestrian who was fatally injured by a driver who left the car in the garage? Oh, and the pedestrian was stuck in the windshield.

There's also one called Grave Danger where one of their own is kidnapped and buried alive which is based on the real life case of Barbara Mackle.

Gentle gentle reminds me more of the Charles Augustus Lindbergh, Jr, 20-month-old son. As it was a baby and they were found not in the house.

#3 Fracked / Hinkley-PG&E: you missed a bigger connection: Marg Helgenberger stars in both CSI & the movie Erin Brockovich!

The Boy in the Box was one of the most devastating for me. And there was a real case of that featured by Buzzfeed
