So many people sharing how they felt seen because of the representation on the show, so I would like to add to it by saying how much Willow means to me. Usually chubbier, bespecatcled side characters are a comic relief or they are just there to balance out the heyper-energetic main character. But Willow is a main character in her own right. She starts out as insecure believing she's a hot mess, but through her friendships - new as well as rekindled - she grows and gets her glowup. And this is what really makes me happy - her glowup doesn't happen through makeup, contacts, slimming down or changing her style - she becomes STRONG. Gradually, on her own terms. She gains the confidence and strength yet still remains soft, nurturing and feminine and I really love it. Lumity was absolutely amazing, but to see the best friend softie ending up with Hunter, whose trope (misguided boy on his redemption arc) is usually reserved for the relationship with the main character was refreshing. I used to feel like a background chubby nice girl. I wish I could have grown up with Willow, but even now she's making me feel seen. Thank you, to every person who contributed to the lovely character of Willow Park.

I've had an interesting theory about Glyph magic ever since glyph-combos were introduced, and even supported by the reveal of King's collar carving: The idea that there is a 5th glyph element, once again based on ancient alchemical and religious elements. The element is- Aether! A basic description of the element is that it is the space between all things, the fabric of reality through which all things connect and traverse. In terms of glyph magic, these means the space between the other glyphs! It makes sense, after all, we know combo-glyphs change depending on the number of each glyph and their positions within the constellations. But I believe King's Island was intending to reveal a deep secret about the magic of the isles to us, as we can clearly see certain magics performed WITHOUT the need for glyphs, as the sigil on King's Island and collar act as a protective spell from the Collector. As such, we know that magic can be performed using ONLY constellations, without the use of any elements. This is, of course, due to the 5th element of Aether! Now as for how exactly this element works, that's up for debate- but clearly it has something interesting to tell us!

I really like that the Demon Realm is non-discriminatory aside from what Belos enforces. It really ties into the importance of the Demon Realm in Luzs story. Its a place that recognizes and accepts the kind of person that Luz is, with the only major problems coming from Belos, a human who wants everyone to conform to his whim to meet his puritanical ends.
Ive also never understood the complaint some people have about Luz being able to walk between both Realms at the end of the show. Its the perfect happy resolution to her story, both in a literal sense but also thematically. For Luz, the Human Realm is a place of discrimination and conformity, and the Demon Realm is a place of acceptance. Severing Luz from the Demon Realm would be a cruel way to end the story, but severing her from the Human Realm would likely detach audiences from relating to her, and the story would feel more like escapism. By walking both worlds, Luz is able to be with people who accept her and is also able to push for a better future for those like her in the Human Realm.
Damn I love this show.

Im sorry but those glyphs are clearly very loosely based on alchemy. As you can see in the design of the light glyph, which I will be using for reference, you can find the the alchemical symbols for fire (the point up triangle) from eastern alchemy and if you really stretch your definition the thing going through the triangle with the circle on top is either a weird upside down symbol for powder a weird upside down symbol for brimstone (a derivative of sulfur) or a really weird symbol for sulfur. Or Im an idiot, thats also an option. I gotta say though it is clearly inspired by instead of composed of alchemical symbols.

You guys should do the worst things Belos/Phillip has done
10. Destroying towns
9. Abusing magic
8. Lying and manipulating others
7. Killing palisman
6. Betraying and leading everyone into an astray.
5. Telling the truth in front of Luzs friends.
4. Betraying Hunter
3. Kill Caleb
2. Commit genocide
Dishonorable mentions
1. Possessing Hunter
2?
3?
1. Kill Flackjack.

reply

So classism to the point of supporting genocide is perfectly okay and is not to be considered discrimination, but if someone expresses any sort of criticism, concern or dismay when you boast to them about what you do with your genitals, they're a complete monster. Thanks for clearing that up.

I voted yes for a beach day. The day before the finale of season 2. It would be a Practice day slash relaxation day for the Resistance. And a day for Luz to say her good byes(You know For Now) Until she would return next year for another summer of living with A Witch and an all powerful titan.
reply

Theres a hidden message for season 3 as well with.
Thanks to them
For the future and lastly
Watching and dreaming.
And the message connected together means Thanks For Watching! It is sad but it means the owl house is coming to a close. Just pointing that out.

My favorite thing about lumity is that it's not just the enemies to lovers trope. You can see Amity's development through the show, without her having a dramatic moment of her yelling I'm done being bad! Instead, she has slow but easy to see development.
reply

There is discrimination on the island. Belos hates the entire island population because theyre Witches. Just cause its one person doesnt mean anything. Theres still discrimination on the island. He also convinces the Emperors coven to hate Wild Witches.
reply

Also Idk how I didn't realise this earlier but. we all know that Luz in Spanish means light
WELL APEARENTLY NOCEDA MEANS NIGHT IN SPANISH soooooooo. Luz Noceda means night light
make some theories in the comments if u can

reply

Not only is Lumity my favorite ship in all of media, but Amity's character development is one of the best displayed in a television series. I've never seen a character go through so much. You can really relate to her as well
reply

Owl house has
-Good plot that perfectly mix comedy and serious
-well written likable characters
-good character development
And proper LGBT representation that fits well with the plot
This show is such a 10/10

reply

8: 20 What? I didn't knew that!
I want video about that fans predicted what will happen in future episode, because some of them even from comics or arts predicted what happened in episode Thanks To Them.

reply

I have more facts! King and Hooty have the same voice actor Alex Hirsch. Also Dana Terrace hates musicals because she was forced to take dance classes as a kid which is why there isnt a musical episode in The Owl House
reply

I'll be honest, tho this is pretty dark.
Realistically.
Homophobia deserves the same category as racial slavery.
Innocent families were separated because of it. it is the literal mindset of a nazi.

reply

Here's a fun fact: Masha, the Gravesfield tour guide, is voiced by Grey DeLisle, who plays Azula in The Last Airbender. Amity's voice actress, Mae Whitman, also voices Katara in that show.
reply

Another thing in Season 3 episode 1 after flap-jack gave their life for Hunter, until that point Hunter had redish eyes but after flap-Jack dies Hunters eyes turn brown just like flap-jacks
reply

I'm from Spain, I didn't know that Remedios Varo, was one of the inspiration for this. I love that.
And is funny because my surname is Varo too. And is not a common name

reply

It's such a shame this show is coming to such an abrupt end. There was so much effort put into making it that it became one of the most groundbreaking shows in animation.
reply

10: 34 Im almost sure this sequence was a jab at Star vs the Forces of evil, since it did a beach episode way to late in the show, and kinda screwed up the finally
reply

The owl house had an in world moment that proves Amphibia is in the same universe. Luzs mom had an article open about a girl who was lost in a frog world
reply

I really wanna meet whichever parent Steve doesn't share with Matt. Cuz I while I like both if their appearances, Steve is a goddamn cutie pie
reply

I personally like the new designs even Hunter's haircut but I still prefer his original hairstyle, other than that they look amazing
reply

7: 05 Now that you guys mentioned it I noticed that the light and fire glyphs are reminiscent to Roy Mustang's(FMA) alchemic power.
reply

Ive had heard somewhere that Luz was written to have ADHD, Hunter has PTSD, and Gus has autism of a very high functioning degree.
reply

If anybody's looking for another show about witches with LGBT inclusiveness, I highly recommend the show Motherland Fort Salem.
reply

When one of Willows dads was showing her a book Im pretty sure that was hop pop on the cover if you look closely enough
reply

Also apparently among King's plushies are Sachiel from Neon Genesis Evangelion and an Ohm from Nausicaa.
reply

Sad to think that so many young kids are gonna miss out on this amazing cartoon because they have ignorant parents.
