Britney deserves more than an HM. She opened that set in a cage with a live tiger, and while it may not have been her best/heaviest choreographed performance, the moves were fitting with the animalistic nature of the song, she looked smokin hot in that outfit, and that snake was not only alive (we all know that) but he's a literal beast! Weighed atleast 25lbs, and moved. I'd say the only downsides to that performance were that we lost a lot of Britney Time when she was going to get the snake, and the tan and bedazzled boots/leg warmers that she wore were oddly distracting.

Too many from MTV and music awards. I'd have put no 5 as no 1 and nph did several numbers at Oscars and Tony's that were also good. In the 80s Jason Alexander also did a good routine during Oscars singing songs like Maude and cheers in a medley and there was a routine with the children of Oscar winners singing about there ambitions that was good too.

Britney SHOULD be at least Top 5, not honorable mention. Where's Like a Virgin / Hollywood? It drove everybody INSANE! I love Janet is on the list, but there are plenty of better performances from her than the one listed (VMA 93 f. e. And the range should be wider, Europe & Asia have their own award shows with some killer performances.

Gagas Paparazzi performance was not only iconic because of the message, the drama, the shock. All of that was amazing. But she also sang the harmony on her own song, instead of the melody. And I love that about her. I think most singers prefer singing harmony, its more fun. But its a BOLD choice for a live solo performance.

The pop music performances and the Broadway performances are such different animals. If you haven't done so already, I'd suggest pulling Jennifer Holiday and Neil Patrick Harris (a revelation in his performance of Bigger at the 2013 Tony Awards) out of this ranking and doing one for just the Tony Awards.

I think it was on the 2017' American Music Awards were P! nk performed Beautiful Trauma on the wall of a building. That performance was amazong. And her grammy performance with Glitter In The Air. And any of her performances. She's, in my opinion, the best performer and entertainer of this century

P! nk is the best live performer hands down. Doing things no artist would even dare to attempt. Never Lip syncing, putting 150% into everything she does, always taking it up a level everytime. Always unique and exciting. She is the peak of a performer, a real artist. Legendary.

You seem to have missed the mark on this one. Ricky Martin's iconic La Copa de la Vida Grammy performance in 1999 FAR outshines Beyonce's performance - and you didn't even give him an honorable mention. Bey's performance is in the HM category, imo.

I like this list, but you should add the qualifier that it's for US awards show. MMA and MAMA shows consistently go hard, much harder than western shows. The possible exception is Beyonce. :)

Madonna didn't even have a mic on her, Janet was lip synching, Prince's guitar was not plugged, MJ I think almost never really sings in his performances, he only signs when he grabs the mic.
