It was beautiful seeing these celebs clap back against beauty standards. For this list, well be looking at the most powerful examples of stars calling out, taking a stand, or making a statement against unreasonable ideals of beauty in their industries and beyond. Our countdown includes Billie Eilish, Jonah Hill, Pink, and more! Which of these celebs inspires YOU the most?

I am 41, and a professional. I have extremely sensitive mixed skin- nordic/italian. I dont use make up and occasional have blemishes. I have been told that not wearing make up makes me look unprofessional or 'younger'. Though, i think - do you want the work done right or for workers to be attractive? With my degrees and (recognized/awards given) excellent work, i do wonder if I would be farther up the food chain if i wore heels and make up. - // mojo, Thanks for this list - I am just sick of these over the top beauty standards across the board.

it's one thing to love yourself, but it's another to recognize that your body positivity is sending the wrong type of message to the public. being overweight is not a good thing, and yes for most people losing that weight is just not practical either, and weight on or off, it won't change what type of person you are. celebs like these should encourage healthy eating as much as getting exercise and clapping back at fatphobic comments. you can love your body and try to improve it at the same time.

Great segment. There are way too many celebs who could be on this list! Adele: gotta lose weight if you want to succeed! They were Wrong.
Black women: change your hair!
All women: gotta be skinny. So proud of Kathy Bates for that naked scene with Jack Nicholson, but Jack got all the attention and no critiques for him getting old/flabby, just compliments: double standard!
Great segment!

I love that my husband loves me without makeup doesn't need me to put it on every day and accepts that I'm a plus size woman and loves me for who I am and always has. I know one of his crushes was Alicia keys because she didn't plaster her face with makeup besides the fact that she's a beautiful woman none of us need makeup and it should be fun to do it when you do decide to put it on

The body hair thing is so annoying. People keep telling others that body hair is unhygienic. If it really was, would human evolution have gotten rid of body hair completely? Lack of hygiene can lead to deadly consequences. I am a hairy woman and have met hairy people. We all would have ended up or very sick.

I love how real Billie is. She's one of those celebrities who loves to wear whatever she wants without caring what other people may say or think. I feel like that's what the world is missing out on. Stop trying to judge someone because of how they look. You don't know their whole story without reading it first.

I'm glad they included male celebrities because even they have their share what should look like. This isn't talked about much because of society stating how men don't care about what they look, but that isn't true. Men have their share body issues and insecurities, and we should take that into account.

I used to wear makeup every day when I was younger, but it did more harm to my face than good. I had terrible acne, but Alicia Keys has inspired me to stop wearing makeup as often. Since then, it really helped my acne go down and I started to feel more comfortable without makeup. Thank you, Alicia.

I've given up wearing makeup. I have sensitive skin and I tried suffering through wasting money trying to find a product that didn't make me break out. I've never minded not wearing it but wow did it get frustrating when I felt pressured to wear it and inevitably suffered the consequences.

Haters are always going to hate.
Its nice to have celebs that are finally stepping up against the tabloids and shattering perceived stereotypes to just be themselves.
The consumer always tries to emulate their favorite celeb but now they don't have to be what is expected.

I have several auto-immune conditions that affect my skin. Because of it, I haven't shaved in years, and I also only wear makeup for special events, because my skin gets red and itchy. Sure makes getting ready, super fast!
reply

Its frustrating that we as a society still focus on how we should care so much about what some one is wearing. Like out of all the problems of the world, were focused on what a celebrity is wearing? Get a life people

Channing Tatum actually impacted me the most. This guy is a fitness role model and to hear him acknowledge my predicament ( I dont have time for the gym anymore ) was super impactful to me. Love this man.
reply

Glad Lizzo is happy with her body though she should not be a role model for women. Morbid obesity is definitely unhealthy and usually produces significant health issues especially with age. I personally know.
reply

Thank you for showing both females & males.
While women are more commonly pressured into societal beauty standards, more & more men are increasingly bullied into unrealistic physical expectations.

The way conservatives treated Simone bills was completely classless, never question an American athlete, their dedication a patriotism when they're struggling because that's what a bully does.
reply

I do dye my hair because I want to feel good I dress my way. I know some people don't under their arms just don't other people to shave because I heard that from people too. I wear what I want
reply

I feel like Margo Robbie should have been on this list somewhere. She challenges stereotypes and expectations by simply reinventing them to fit her own comfort.
reply

Personally I think the top two should of been reversed. I praise Alica for being make up free but Lizzo is changing the world in how women see ourselves.
reply

We're somehow proud of celebrities showing their real selves despite all the harsh criticisms they face. We call that immense courage.
reply

Channing Tatum, it isn't healthy(steroids) medicated and directed by a Dr obviously plus working out and eating right if not.
reply

It's not easy to go makeup free if you have horrible skin. Kudos to them for loving themselves! They are all beautiful!
reply

John Wayne was over weight and one of the biggest stars in the world. Tell critics to check your talent out and shut up.
reply

I should clap back years ago when a men told me wear something nice and a girl named Mika was wearing sweat pants tracksuit
reply

Out of all of them- Jonah Hill breaks my heart the most. I feel badly for him being reduced to his physique
reply

Alicia Keys is so beautiful, she doesn't even need makeup. People need to stop judging. Everybody's beautiful.
reply

Jamie Lee Curtis shouldve been #1. Her campaign of no make-up or touch-ups put aging in a much better light.
reply

99. 9% of celebrities get off on attention. They are just clapping back at those who call them out for it.
reply

Im not fat.
But I was called gross, unattractive, and disgusting. Because of my physical appearance.
