Disney animated movies are forever timeless. For this list, well be looking at the best feature-length films from the studio that continue to get better with age. Our countdown includes Mulan, Tarzan, Beauty and the Beast, and more! Which Disney animated movie do YOU think is the most timeless?

Predictable number one as always. Will there ever be a Disney list that isnt topped by the Lion King?
Yall need to start looking more closely pre-renaissance. I know some of the films can be a bit problematic by modern standards, however it doesnt subtract from the beauty of the art or the awesomeness of the story.
Lady and the Tramp is an original, beautiful story about two dogs from opposite worlds finding love (and not at first sight) but having to face the realities of being a dog as well as responsibility over desire.
Sleeping Beauty is a visual masterpiece of art that created several timeless characters in a world of art that is extremely detailed. The story may be a little by-the-numbers, but the art is so breathtaking that you wont notice.
Robin Hood is a softer retelling of the original story with engaging characters and soundtrack that deserves more praise than it gets. The art isnt great, but Peter Ustinov will make up for that with his over-the-top Prince John.
Drag yourself out of movies of the past 30 years and enjoy something that is actually timeless.

Frozen is NOT timeless. It never has been and it NEVER will be 'cause it's nothing but a godawful, woke, dumb, dated, lazy, immature, unoriginal, uninspired, confusing, contrived, hypocritical, toxic, half-baked, poorly-made, poorly-written, poorly-executed, and style-over-substance rush-job. Also, you guys should've made a top 20 list of the same topic since there are many other Disney animated movies that are timeless and worth including. Even the underrated ones like The Rescuers Down Under, The Great Mouse Detective, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Fantasia 2000, and especially Treasure Planet deserve to be on here.

it's funny. several outlets are celebrating the Lion King today. Disney XM station has played many songs over and over. If only that it is an original and not an adaptation that is far from the original, I'd have to agree with it being #1. Actors chosen, lyrics and songs written, completely overwhelming struggles that the characters faced. all just perfect drama. Emperors New Groove is boring. I thought Mulan should have been higher. Again, Lilo and Stitch. boring. Beauty and The Beast would be a tie for number one for me.

ah nah! Ah Nah! AH NANANA! EX-CAH-USSE! ME!
why isn't snowhite here? I mean I get it it's a boring movie but c'mon she started the whole thing and created the whole Animated Movie Genre, At least an Honorable mention at this rate lol
(edit: in fact why aren't any older aged disney movies really here? Bambi, Sleeping beauty, Pinnochio? FANTASIA? Seriously? I guess no)

Im so glad both lilo and stitch and the emperors new groove made this list! Theyre two of my favourites movies to come out of the 2000s considering the fact it was a very disappointing era for Disney animation at the time. Plus both of them got their own spin-off straight to dvd movies and shows so the company saw how much potential each series had at the time.

The Emperor's New Groove and Mulan and Lilo & Stitch and Tarzan and Hercules and Cinderella and The Princess and the Frog and The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast and Frozen and The Nightmare Before Christmas and Tangled and Aladdin and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and The Lion King is the most timeless on TV or on the DVDs or on Disney Plus
reply

So hoping you'll eventually do it part 2 with other cartoon classics please. Also Aladdin wasn't on this list really? Can you also do computer animated movies on here here's a mini list: toy story number 10, how to train your dragon number 3, Tangled number 2, Frozen number 1, that's sort of all I can think of her now hope you do this please and thank you.

5. Hunchback of Notre Dame
6. Mulan

I'm so glad Tarzan was on this list! It gave me a few hours of sleep at a time a night when my son was a baby - he would only fall asleep to the movie during his sleep regressions. His sister was much less receptive. ha ha.
reply

Technically the lion king isnt really an original as a lot of the themes are largely based on and inspired by hamlet. As well as the straight to dvd sequel simbas pride was larger based on Romeo and Juliet. Just saying.
reply

It sure was something to grow up in the 90s with all the then-new Disney movies that have truly stood the test of time. Beauty and the Beast and the Lion King have always been my top 2 as well. Glad I'm not the only one.
reply

If theres something that elevates these good movies to just classics is the incredible memorable music. I love the movies but the music is what I love the most about Disney. Disney should be a music genre in itself.
reply

Not a fan at ALL, but the only good thing about Tarzan was Phil Collins' work on the soundtrack. Also what about Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and Bambi as honorable mentions? (this could easily have been a Top 20)
reply

The Lion King was my first film in cinema (1994 when I was ten years young) and I am so happy that I fall in love with cinema due to such a great Disney Classic! For my The Lion King is still Disney's best!
reply

Love this list, got a little worried about number 1 when Beauty and the Beast came in at number 2. But when you can say a line from a movie and everyone gets it you know it's a classic
reply

Shouldve Been An Honorable Mention: Mickey, Donald and Goofy in The Three Musketeers. Mickey is the reason why we have Disney movies if it wasnt for Walt Disney. Its a fun movie
reply

Love all of these, especially Hercules, Princess and the Frog and Beauty and The Beast. But my all time favorite is Sleeping Beauty. It doesnt get enough love imo.
reply

I'm surprised you didn't go REALLY far back and include Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, Pinocchio, Sleeping Beauty, or Bambi, even as honorable mentions.
reply

Emperor's New Groove and Tarzan should have been a little higher. Pocahontas and 101 Dalmatians should be added maybe even Fox and the Hound.
reply

I'm surprised The Hunchback of Notre Dame wasn't even an honorable mention. And Hellfire is like the second greatest Disney villain song
reply

Cinderella is Walt Disneys favorite princess, The Lion King is King of All Disney and The Emperors New Groove is the funniest of the best
reply

Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Pinocchio, Dumbo, Bambi and Peter Pan should all be on that list! Your list of 1990+ films is pathetic
reply

Mulan is just aging so well and getting more incredible!
Princess and The Fog is so great. Tina is the only business gal!

reply

My top 5
1. Beauty And The Beast
2. The Little Mermaid
3. Pocahontas
4. The Princess And The Frog
5. Frozen

reply

How about SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DORFS THE VERY FIRST ANIMATION MOVIE AND FIRST DISNEY MOVIE EVER MADE not ever a mention
reply

We love Winnie the Pooh so much in my family, even my two-year-old niece can sing the rumbly in my tumbly song!
