The shrunken head also reference to Grandmama in the original sitcom had a shrunken head hair to knit. The carnivorous plants that was seen throughout the series is a reference to Morticia's carnivorous plant Cleopatra the African strangler that ate raw hamburger meat. The Nevermore gate opened and closed on it's own accord reference to the wicket gate in front of the Addams Family's mansion. The crocheting that Enid does is a reference to the crocheting that Morticia does. The shawl that principal Weem's wears reference to Grandmama's shawl and the Addams Family theme song. The broom in Pilgrim World is reference to the theme song also a broom you can crawl on. The guillotine mention as a reference from the sitcom that Pugsley and Wednesday would use to cut the head off her doll Marie Antoinette.

I think it's funny the whole Wednesday dance thing. Because despite the video saying it's 100% Wednesday. it wasn't. lol It was weird alright. But it still felt off for her. It was random and dumb looking. I'm baffled this became a tiktok trend except for the fact that whoever started the trend clearly aimed to make an actual dance out of it that doesn't look bad. In the show, it doesn't look good at all. All the moves are completely disconnected from each other. While in the tiktok trend they flow into one another and are performed more like actual dance moves. So if the original trend setter actually saw the dance in the show and thought it was amazing, I can't see how. But good on them for actually turning it into something that looks somewhat appealing. lol

I like Christina Ricci's version of Wednesday better.
If you go back and watch the movies, her eyes and facial expressions sell the character more.
That said, I'm not going to take away from anything Jenna Ortega did to bring Wednesday to life in her own way i. e. learning cello, fencing, creating a dance, etc.
So I will put Christina Ricci at a 10 and Jenna Ortega at a 9. 8.

During Wednesday's dance, she does the part of the tango where Morticia uses the castanets.
Right after Wednesday tosses the pilgrim bullies around in the Weathervane, when the sheriff comes in, Wednesday steps forward with the same arm and leg moving together. This is a fighting stance. She is still prepared for battle.

LOL spoilers. I just realized when she asked the head mistress about her excitement for the Raven when she was younger. That would have been the night her brother was going to murder them all. So the innocent comment, was really a 'I wish my brother had killed you back then, and soon I'm going to do the same. '

Why is it when they talk about things people miss they never mention Ophelia Hall? Ophelia was the name of Morticias sister in the first series and Carolyn Jones played her perfectly. She was originally supposed to marry Gomez but ended up eloping with Itt. And that was how Morticia and Gomez actually got married.

You kind of touched on it, this may be a spoiler
So
Spoiler warning
But theres a line where Wednesday says theres no such things as coincidences or something along those lines, as shes saying they we see Christina Ricci on screen.
That was probably my favorite part of the whole series.

When they show the throwback to her birthday there is a poster pin the tale style but Beetlejuice! and the year book Morticia holds is the year 1991. The year the movie came out with Christina Ricci. Also in the boat race scene, Wednesday's outfit is an homage to Tim Burtons cat woman in Batman: P

can someone explain to me why Jenna Ortega looks way more beautiful during and after Wednesday than before it? is it the make up or what? i really found her looks different in this period of time of Wednesday than her previous roles. ok well, puberty hits hard on her i guess, but anything else?

I thought Thor was related to Thursday not Wednesday? Thats how Thursday got its name. Also fencing, in the original tv show Morticia and Gomez used to fence. The coffee shop you rang references Lurch. the ooky and spooky reference to the theme song. The rose head removal.

You appear to have missed bit where Ophelia is floating face up in the pool under the dead tree in the courtyard on parents weekend while the principle is giving her speech at the beginning (at around 3: 15) of Episode 5: You reap what you woe

During the dance Wednesday bumps into Tyler before having a vision
[spoiler alert]
A hint that Tyler was the hyde because Wednesday only has vision when she accidentally touches people or things and has visions related to them

I don't know if it's just me but did anyone else notice the appearance of the similarity of Rowan and the character in Addams Family Values that joins Wednesday and Pugsley in causing chaos? He even has an inhaler and glasses.

Many parts of the series gave me big Harry Potter / Hogwarts vibes. The boat race depicted the 4 houses, Rowan was basically a Harry Potter look-a-like and Enid reminded is basically of Luna, even the werewolf theme fits!

Another interesting nod to Thor with Wednesday is that her psychic power is identified as a raven and Thor iconically had two helper ravens. Also anyone notice Xavier has painted two ravens in the quad in his mural?

I noticed Wednesday removing the bloom from a rose when taking it to Garret Gates's gravesite - an homage to Morticia's habit of cutting off the blooms from rose stems, leaving only the thorns.

Also in the dance was a move reminiscent of Tim Burtons, Mars Attacks! When the alien disguised itself as a blond woman, it walked in a peculiar way that was duplicated in the dance.

Another Easter Egg in the dance scene is when she throws her arms over her head at the beginning, she's paying homage to Wednesdays cousin Lumpy Addams dance moves from the 90s Films.

It feels like foreshadowing that the song that played when Wednesday and Tyler danced was about a teenager turning into a nocturnal monster that goes prowling/hunting around town.

Millar and Gough were also the show runners for Smallville. In the first episode the pickup truck dropping off the hiker is Martha's which is a reference to Smallville.

Having seen the original Addams family, seeing Christina in Wednesday was awesome.
I'm 25, I just have cool parents and a love for the goth aesthetic.

4: 55 Another Interesting Easter Egg.
The woman playing Ophelia and Morticias mother is Margaret Hamilton, the original Wicked Witch of the West!

Is there a Harmony Hut on the grounds/Ground of Nevermore? That scene is one of my favorite parts of The Addams Family movie. :-) The series looks great.

Subliminal Easter Egg - Jenna Ortega's appearance and demeanor closely resemble Helena Bonham Carter, who just happens to be Tim Burton's wife.

The only thing I didn't like about Wednesday is how her little brother was portrayed. I hope to get more of him in the upcoming seasons
