Some of these are impressive, indeed! For this list, well be looking at the craziest moments in which animated TV series mentioned, showed, or revolved entire plots around events that would actually happen later on. Our countdown includes moments from Futurama, The Jetsons, Hey Arnold! and more! Did you see your favorite mind-blowing moment in this list?

Honorable Mention:
Disney Comes Under Fire - South Park
-In the episode The Ring, we're introduced to South Park's version of Mickey Mouse. Do not be fooled, THIS depection of Mickey is NOTHING like his wholesome counterpart. Here, he's depicted as a violent, greedy, ruthless, selfish and uncaring tyrant who's willing to go to whatever lengths to get what he wants and even some unethical methods to keep his employees in line. Near the episode's climax, he goes on a rant backstage at a televised Jonas Brothers concert, cursing out religious groups and even his own audience. The boys manage to expose his tirade to the audience, effectively permanently tarnishing Disney's public image and disgracing him in front of the entire world! When he finally realizes what's going on, its already too late, he gets so angry that he grows to kaiju size and goes on a rampage (which I no doubt would ruin his image even more.
This isn't the first time Disney has come under fire and it certainly won't be the last. Because when you really think about it, this fictional scandal may have predicted Disney coming into heat in recent memory. What with firing director James Gun, leaking episodes for Amphibia and The Owl House, canceling The Owl House and cutting it's 3rd season short, as well as some other questionable pride points and decisions, is it too late to assume South Park's Mickey Mouse REALLY IS the one running Disney nowadays? Because it wouldn't be far off.

This is going be a depressing subject; but I remember watching an episode of Looney Tunes that aired on August 13 in 1949, called Often an Orphan, starring Porky Pig and Charlie the Dog. When Charlie was having a breakdown trying to convince Porky to adopt him, he mentioned that the towers were falling. The only towers that I can remember falling were the Twin Towers in New York on September 11, 2001; 52 years after the episode aired.

South Park didn't predict Trump winning. They write and produce each episode weekly so that it's current, not in advance like most TV shows.
In this case, they actually made two episodes with both outcomes. In fact, IIRC, they had the one with Hillary winning ready to go and had to scramble to finish the Trump episode when the results came in.

You know how the Reds (the Soviets, not the baseball team) shocked everyone by sending up Sputnik 1 seemingly out of nowhere? I would not be the LEAST bit surprised if SpaceX one day just surprised everyone by humans broadcasting live from the moon without anyone even knowing they were going to the moon!

Yeah, Walt Disney studios slowly gaining everything under the sun is less of prediction and more of a promise. I think we're pretty far off from a Rosie the robot or at least humanoid robots. I don't think we'd ever have something like androids, they wouldn't really be practical.

Everybody in the whole world went past the year of 2020 it's when Sealab 2020 faked appeared in cartoon fantasies and it was premiered in 1972 is when the narrator during it's theme song is talking about the future from 48 years in 1972 to 2020.

I can't believe how the Simpsons correctly predicted the esclator ride right before his announcement of running for President AND they got the sign on the podium surprisingly similar to the real one as well!
reply

The Simpsons is widely (in)famous in Brazil for predicting Neymar Jr would get seriously hurt during a match at FIFA's 2014 world cup and Brazil would be eliminated by Germany just after that.

The one I keep seeing over the internet recently is an episode of Kim Possible that first aired in 2002, where Wade states in less than 20 years, everyone will work from home.
reply

I saw a Kim possible one today
I also respect Steve Harvey a lot more after that. They didn't want to fix it right away. But he went out there and admitted he was wrong.

The Kevin spacey joke on family guy was not a joke. Seth MacFarlane knew what was going on. People talk. It hadnt been made public, and he was trying to raise a red flag there.

5: 05 we WERE better prepared. But the FIRST thing Trump did when he became president was close down the pandemic preparedness committee. It's like he knew what was coming.
reply

Imagine if cartoons predicted the future all the time! Because if if they did then think of all the future problems that humanity could avoid and or prevent. lol
reply

I thought President Trump would be number 1! Well even long before that Simpsons episode a lot of people already had the idea he may have been President one day.
reply

For people who hate Trump like you lot do, you gotta keep talking about him. I'm sure you like him deep down, you know you do. If not, why keep talking about him.
reply

5: 12 And the characters from the cats movie made a cameo appearance in the Chip n Dale Recuse Rangers movie in the Uncanny Valley scene.
reply

Can we actually say that the Kaitlyn ginner was actually predicted by Married With Children like many years earlier, like late 1990s early
reply

10: 00 So by this prediction that was made, of Lisa Simpson becomes president after Trump; does this mean Joe Biden is Lisa Simpson?
reply

Fun Fact: Donald Trump ran for President in 2000. He ran as a third-party candidate. And apparently, I'm the only one who remembers.
reply

Can you imagine if cartoon predicted scores on sports and lottery ticket numbers? Then people would watch more cartoons often.
reply

Amazing video Rebecca from ms mojo of cartoons that eerily predicted future events that come true in the end, fantastic job.
reply

Let's be real: The Simpsons could've made a list all their own because of all the times they predicted the future.
reply

I feel like technology doesnt really count as predicting the future because its really just what People wanted to have
reply

Ed Edd n Eddy also predicted the pandemic, as almost everyone was quarantined through chicken pox (except the Eds.
reply

Simpsons and Family Guy are the kings of predicting the future. The Simpsons will always have that title.
reply

Can we please start taking these seriously? How many times are we not going to pay attention to cartoons?
reply

I knew the cats movie was going to be a failure, when I first heard about it. Yet I still wanted to watch.
