6: 17 - Surorised yall didnt reference this. The almost loss of Toy Story 2 was an Easter egg in Toy Story 4. In the flashback scene at the start of the movie theres a shot of the back of the family car in the rain. Theres a closeup of the license plate which reads RMR F97.
This is a reference to the Linux command issues that wiped out the movie. The command was rm -Rf /. Thats a very bad command to issue with root level access on a Linux system. It wipes out everything. And of course the 97 on the plate as the year of when that happened.

A sequel to Finding Nemo was supposed to be Finding Marlin at first in which Nemo had to find his father. Newt was supposed to be in Pixar but got cancelled because of being so similar to Rio. It was supposed to be a sequel to Monsters Inc at first to give Boo a birthday gift only to find out that Boo had moved. Brave was originally supposed to be called The Bear and the Bow. And at first it was another version of Toy Story 3 being planned.

Honorable Mentions:
Charles Muntz's Named After Charles Mintz Up (2009) - He was named after the man who stoled Disney's rights to Oswald the Lucky Rabbit.

Trivia note: The Pizza Planet Aliens were originally supposed to be pizza slices with sunglasses, but the creators of Toy Story decided to lean more towards Planet then Pizza for their mascot, which was a smart decision since the Aliens became so iconic both in the U. S. & abroad that Pixar brought the Aliens back for each of the Toy Story sequels.

Joe Ranft's death was tragic enough, but the fact that the film he was working on when he had his fatal car accident was _Cars_ is such an unfortunate coincidence. I'm sure some studios would have canceled the movie entirely out of reverence. The dedication to him in the credits was such a nice, touching moment.

Yes all of that would ruined my childhood if I was so young then what I am now
and even other Pixar facts would totally ruin my childhood like all the original story that they had for Toy Story and other classics movie Pixar didnt know that much on how to make a movies made for children be great for children

reply

#9 and #10 would not ruin mine. William H. Macy I'm sure would have done a fine job as worrywart (sp) Merlin whereas the initial pitch for Monsters, Inc. symbolizes a unique and intriguing concept that Pixar no doubt would easily pull off, given their initial track record achieved such critical acclaim.

I was only a few mounts old when Joe Ranft passed away and watched that dedication so many times not knowing what it was. Now that Im an adult, I realized how much of tragic coincidence that is. Cars was his last project, and he died in one.
R. I. P Joe Ranft.
Pixar isnt the same without you.

Ranfts death is so shocking and sad to me. Dang man that is sad! Making a movie about cars and then dies in a car? And the way he dies is so traumatic like wow so heartbreaking and Im sure he was jus so scared while it was happening. rip legend!

I didn't know people were buying alot of clown fish after finding nemo, holy shit, pet fish are fine but endangering fish is not, I'm glad that situation got handled
reply

Sheesh! I would HOPE that store in France uses stuffed rats instead of real ones! Could you imagine the smell greeting you as you open the door, never mind walk in?
reply

I agree, those dummies in Toy Story 4 are creepy. If I was child I would totally be creeped out by that. It looks like something creepy from the twilight zone
reply

While the initial concept of Monsters Inc sounds compelling enough, I'm glad that they focused more on the monsters, and made it more kid friendly.
reply

Similarly to the Nemo story, they put out a PSA when Finding Dory came out that said dont purchase blue tangs and let them remain wild.
reply

They should definitely still do something with that original monsters Inc plot. Just change the title and let it be a stand alone movie
reply

This didn't ruin my childhood, but still. You do sometimes wonder what twisted ideas they have before they created what they released
reply

And would Toy Story 4 even exist?
It should never have existed in the first place the third movie wrapped everything up nicely

reply

The death of Cars co-director is sad. That said my childhood/young adulthood is far from ruined. Not shook at all. Good video tho
reply

5: 52 and of course after Joe Ranft's death his brother Jerome took over as the voice of some of his characters in their sequels
reply

22: Thank you, supermom. I remember as a kid I saw Toy Story 2 in theaters, first Pixar movie I saw in theaters, love it so much
reply

Someone needs to make a horror movie about the original concept for Monsters Inc. That is such an interesting concept.
reply

If Barabie being the love interest for Woody stopped them from making a Toy Story 4 they should have done that instead
reply

You think the dummies in Toy Story 4 are scary? I turned the TV off when the Tin Toy baby started crying I was so terrified
reply

When I first saw Ratatouille, I was really surprised they showed dead rats in the movie. Thankfully I wasnt scared by it
reply

William H. Macy Was Supposed to Voice Marlin
Early Pixar Was Scandalous
That Rat Killing Shop Actually Exists

reply

I don't complain about anyting ruined my childhood because I really don't get mad and upset over unnecessary stuff
reply

Honestly, I wonder if Toy Story 2 got better because of the near deletion story giving it more time in the oven.
reply

The reason those dummies is TS4 creeped me out is because they looked so much like Slappy from Goosebumps
reply

What does ruin your childhood is knowing that in the lion king the hyenas didn't eat Simba's dad scar did
