Viola is. she just is. Any movie. any role. she is. I've watched so many movies in my life, but she always stands out and has the ability to fully capture my attention, and my emotions. I love watching her performances, simply because I feel like she knows what it is to the people watching. She knows how to make them feel everything that her character is going thru. She's just so good. Like. Wow. I am thankful to learn what acting really is and can be from watching her. I genuinely wish her well in her life, and if I ever had the chance to talk to her I would say, Girl! Do you know you turned what it means to be an actor on its head? Like YOU DID THAT! THANK YOU! You're expressing what it means to be a real human being and I love you so much for it! PLEASE MAKE MANY MANY MORE MOVIES! Well, as many as you can handle. I get we're all human too. But I love your performances. Sending so much love your way!

Heres a FACT about DREW BARRYMORES 15 minute opening scene in SCREAM. IT WAS HER IDEA NOT THE DIRECTORS TO DIE IN THE FIRST 15 minutes. Also While they were filming that scene Drew actually called the REAL POLICE and after the props manager FOUND OUT when the police called back the manager DISCONNECTED THE PHONE. So yeah IT WAS DREWS Idea TO DIE in the opening scene. She shouldve WON AN AWARD MAYBE A GOLDEN GLOVE OR OSCAR FOR THIS PERFORMANCE

Liam Neeson as Customer in Ted 2. He makes buying a box of Trix as dramatic as possible and its hilarious!
Sir Patrick Stewart as King Richard in Robin Hood: Men in Tights. He only gets one scene but he OWNED it and was brilliant!
Christopher Walken as The Headless Horseman in The Legend of Sleepy Hallow. He has zero lines! Its all facial expressions, body language, and gutteral screams. And its an INCREDIBLE performance!

One of my favorite scenes is with Christopher Walken and Dennis Hopper in True Romance Quentin Tarantino dialog and the acting is perfect. I absolutely love that scene. Your other lists are great too. But Christopher and Dennis kill their dialog. Quentin is known for great dialog and this is my very favorite one.

It is staggering you omitted Marlon Brando's cameo appearance in the film Superman. He was paid, with the share of the box office, $19 million for 12 days work. He was paid more than Gene Hackman and certainly Christopher Reeve. In my opinion, he should have been number one on your list.

I'm just glad someone else is also giving Les Grossman some love for once. That WHOLE MOVIE was a giant cluster F#K of casting who can be more outrageous and funny. I loved every moment of that movie. It has a lot of the main stereotypes, they are all great in their performances.

A couple things. First off, I'd add Anne Ramsey from Throw Momma from the Train of 1987. Second, it's more than a tad short-sighted of MsMojo to only consider relatively recent movies. If you're only limiting the field to films known to younger audiences, you should say so.

It was pretty ingenious to market Drew Barrymore as being in _Scream, _ even prominently featuring her on the cover, only to kill off her character in the first scene. It really threw audiences for a loop, and brought her back to the public's attention.

Jack Nicholson had a key role in A FEW GOOD MEN, popping up throughout the picture; if it wasn't the lead part, it wasn't 'small' either.
Viola Davis wasn't a 'big' actor yet in DOUBT, nor was Phillip Seymour Hoffman in HARD EIGHT

reply

Drew Barrymore scene in Scream is Wes Craven's nightmare that inspired all the Scream movies. That's the entirety of the dream. Everything else was murder mystery theater. but that scene with Drew is an absolute masterpiece.

I love Nicholsons portrayal in AFGM. But I wouldnt call it a small role. He was the antagonist. How can an antagonist be a small role? Granted it wasnt the leading role. But I dont see it as a small role.

judi dench won an oscar for shakespeare in love and only had 8 minutes of screen time that proves that actors can have great performances in small roles because the film dosent rely on them the most.
reply

Fun fact Drew Barrymore was supposed to be the original Sidney in Scream but bc she was so popular and her career was blowing up Neve Campbell got the part by default which was perfect bc she killed it!
reply

Though it was a terrible film the part of Steve Martin in Sgt. Pepper Lonelys Hearts Club Band singing Maxwells Silver Hammers in the movie was over the top and a scene stealer that was hilarious.
reply

Should have been on the list: John Cusack as big brother Denny, whose death had a profound effect on his brother Gordie. He was in just a couple of flashback scenes but made such an impact.
reply

I think if you only watch the last 30 minutes of A Few Good Men, then you get the gist of the entire movie because the acting of both actors is so good it does a good job doing so.
reply

I dont think people really understand how influential those first 13 minutes of Scream are to Drew Barrymores career.
It brought her back to the zeitgeist in a BIG way.

I saw Doubt on Broadway and the woman who played Ms Miller absolutely owned that role. The audience was totally in her pocket and she received standing ovation
reply

Number one should have been Dame Judi Dench in Shakespeare in Love. She won an Oscar for a part with less than 10 minutes of screen time.
reply

Viola Davis definitely should've been #1. That woman stole the entire film AND got an Oscar nom in just 7 minutes of screentime.
reply

You did if you don't feature Anne Bancroft in Malice as the alcoholic mother. 6 minutes of the best acting I've every seen.
reply

I wish Samuel L Jackson got a mention for his memorable scene in Coming to America, his one scene in that was legendary!
reply

The moment Billy Crystal enters a scene, he owns it and who knew that Gene Hackman could do comedy? Mel Brooks, of course!
reply

Umhello? Marlon Brando as Jor-El in Superman, 1978? $3, 700, 000 plus 11. 75% on back end for 20 minutes on screen.
reply

Melissa McCarthy in This Is 40 is one of the funniest things Ive ever seen, especially the bloopers for the scene
reply

James Franco's small cameo in The Green Hornet was probably the best (and funniest) part of that movie. #Underrated
reply

Judi Dench won an oscar for a few minutes on screen in Shakespeare in Love. Can't believe she was overlooked!
reply

I would love to see Keanu Reeves in the same movie with Jeremy Renner as an on-screen bromance of nice guys.
reply

If MsMojo should decide to do a Big Stars in TV a Cameo vid I nominate Brad Pitt as Will on Friends.
reply

The last time I checked, Bill Murray (and the rest of them for that matter) aint no small time actor(s.
