Maybe someday these Disney movies won't be so underrated. For this list, well be looking at the studios most notable animated features that we think deserve more love. Our countdown includes Tarzan, Lilo & Stitch, Treasure Planet, and more! Is YOUR favorite Disney film an underrated gem?

How can Sword in the Stone be underrated? It's an absolute beautiful classic of a movie with loveable and memorable characters, unlike Snow White or Cinderella. Seriously, apart from Raya, which I haven't gotten around to watch yet, I'm really surprised how a lot of these are underrated, with perhaps the exception of The Black Cauldron as it was dark as all heck, and Treasure Planet as it came out about the same time as Harry Potter I believe, and it wasn't that well marketed by Disney, so it fell under rather badly. Still remember watching it in the theater, though; the escape from the black hole or the final scene on Treasure Planet were bombastically amazing!
And now I feel like rewatching The Robinsons and look up the songs for Oliver. Nostalgia needs to be fed!

YES! Thank you so much for this video! I think we all needed to be reminded of these amazing movies that dont get as much love because of timing and stuff like that my all time favs were Fox and the Hound, Hunchback of Noter dame, and Tarzan. I grew up with the first 2 and some of my favorite Disney song arent from the Disney princess movies but from the Hunchback of Noter Dame some of my favorite scenes EVER came from these underrated movies like fox and the hound this is one of my favorite videos I have ever watched because it brings back so much nostalgia, thank you.

Such a good selection. Emperor's New Groove, Princess and the Frog are Robin Hood all very good. Tarzan and Brother Bear for sure deserve more love, their my second and fourth favorite of all Disney films. Really was hoping Disney's Dinosaur got mentioned because that's another film I believe doesn't get the love and respect it deserves but this was still a good list for the most part. Good list and can definitely appreciate the respect of these under appreciated films. Thanks Ms. Mojo, have a great day.

In my opinion, this list should be titled Most Underrated Disney Animated Films. Calling these films, which have their reasons for being on this list, the only underrated Disney films is just wrong for different reasons. There should be a separate list for the live action films. The best of the underrated live action Disney movies is The Rocketeer. It gave audiences a different type of comic book hero that wasn't Superman or Batman. Just saying.

I think Lilo and Stich is pretty popular and appropriately rated, love that movie!
I enjoyed all these movies Ive seen, I havent seen 3 or 4 of them.
I think the Emperors New Groove is the most underrated and HILARIOUS!
Brother Bear is soooo underrated and AMAZING! Seriously a heart wrenching movie!
Treasure Planet is AMAZING! Probably my favorite non-Pixar Disney MOVIE! This is the one movie that could use a live action remake

i just cant believe that you had Black Cauldron so low on the list. Yet ok sure its def not everyones cup of tea. The Rescuers down Under was before Emperor New Grove. Really David Spade it was good but def not any where near the level of Rescuers. are you kidding me that was one of there best films ever made. The colors an the having George C Scott as the villain was perfect. it will always be one of my favorites.

From the post renaissance era, there are 4 movies I would say are underrated, 3 of which were mentioned here: Emperors New Groove, Lilo and Stitch, Princess and the Frog, and Bolt. The fact that Bolt was only used in the beginning is wrong, its probably one of my top underrated movies that truly deserves more love, barely anyone talks about it. I will truly guard this movie

The movie treasure planet should have become a series because of Jim's past and the voyage to see what else the ship stopped at for supplies and extra. Also the quotes in the movie are true of what people do in life and it's also what I'm going through as well so this movie has a special place in my heart like the other movies I've seen on this top 20
reply

Atlantis, Treasure Planet, Brother Bear. All examples of Disney animated films of the 2000s that didnt get enough love from audiences. The post-Renaissance Era was a troubling period that usually resulted with hits and misses.
History is now repeating itself in the 2020s given this day and age of streaming services.

Maybe i'm the only one in the world that actually like Chicken Little, i don't know why people hate it. And one thing that makes me sad is that there aren't any people here in the comments who say Chicken Little is underrated nobody say it. Chicken Little is the most underrated Disney movie and it's true
reply

Tough list. in my experience a few of these aren't underrated at all and the ordering of what is here is debatable. I really wanted to make sure that Home on the Range and Mars Needs Moms didn't get included. However, the most underrated Disney movie that you failed to mention is Chicken Little.
reply

RAYA AND THE LAST DRAGON IS SO UNDERRATED IT IS NOT OKAY. IT NEEDS MORE LOVE. It's actually a beautiful story and Sisu is so funny and Naamari and Raya's fighting scenes alwayg give me chills. It will always be one of my favorite disney movies
reply

Not a single movie from Disney renaissance era should be on this list. None of those movies are underrated and they all got their flowers. Tarzan got a whole Oscar. It probably wouldve won best animation film if that award existed at the time
reply

What about the princess and the goblin! Its OUTRAGEOUS you didnt list this movie XD outrageous! Prince frogliff says this line in the movie! Its iconic! Its OUTRAGEOUS! I love that movie. its very much unappreciated
reply

Treasure planet has been my favorite movie for a looong time, and Jims Theme always brings tears to my eyes.
but honestly. since when was Hercules underrated? It is on the top 5 list of most people i know: O

reply

Im glad that Treasure Planet got high on this list! Easily one of my favorite under-rated Disney movies! Love every character, and loved the song I'm Still Here. Even have the song on my Spotify playlist!
reply

I'm not afraid to admit I teared up when Widow Tweed dropped Todd off in the woods. Despite that, it's still one of my favorite Disney movies. The opening scene of Oliver & Company is sad too.
reply

I really love The Hunchback of Notre Dame, yet I also understand why it's not promoted much to kids. But then again, Quasimodo and all the other characters definitely deserve more love!
reply

I dont care if they are underrated - These movies were a big part of my childhood and Ill always love them cause they will always hold a special place in my mind and my heart
reply

I guess my main problem with sword in the stone is the cartoonish portrait of Authur and Merlin. I love the legend since third grade and that production just seems. off.
reply

I love how Mojo just loves the Hunchback of Notre Dame. I knew it would be number one I love Raya. I think that it was just overshadowed by Encanto during the pandemic.
reply

Hunchback of Notre Dame is my FAVORITE Disney Movie ever! The beginning song is beautiful and tells a story that you dont even need to see the movie for
reply

Oh! How much I LOVED Treasure Planet!
And how much I'd give to see the sequel that never happened!
Or A Live action remake. I'D TAKE EITHER!

reply

Treasure Planet is truly an amazing movie and needs more love! Please support it also my fav character is Captain Amelia (straight up girlboss)
reply

I loved oliver & company, so glad to see it brought up in this & intro songs video - happy memories
the rescuers down under & the goofy movie too!

reply

Robin Hood and The Emperor's new groove were amongst my favourites as a kid! WRONG LEVERRR! was a quote we still regularly recall to this day lol.
reply

Winnie the Pooh is not in the ranking, you decide not to include Pocahontas or the aristocats. But wreck it Ralph is here when it's not underrated?
reply

Robin Hood was my favorite as a child to the point I watched it so much my mom had to buy a second copy of the VHS because I wore out the first
