Even when they aren't onscreen, we recognize these actresses' distinct voices. For this list, well be looking at talented women we can name just by their voices. Our countdown includes Cree Summer, Holly Hunter, Fran Drescher, and more! What voice sticks out the most to YOU?

As wonderful as the actresses are from the past, beyond one or two of the actresses, nobody knows who these people are anymore unless they are old film afficionados or old school Batman fans. There are enough actresses with distinct voices from the 80's onward that people would recognize for this list without including cartoon voice actors. Emma Stone, Cher, Katey Sagal, Kristin Chenowith, Jodie Foster, Joan Cusack, Allison Janey, Oprah Winfrey, Miley Cyrus, and Eliza Dushku, I mean, there are dozens of modern actresses you could easily recognize and name just from their voices today. But with those old school actresses you would stump almost everyone. I think Shohreh should have been first based on that alone.

Eartha Kitt sure knew how to make a character likeable. Her voice is somehow manlier than my voice, and i'm a man. I'm a man, but sounds like that annoying kid everyone hated in school, but i only sound like that because i do have a slight problem with a lot of slime in my throat and as i'm a bit overweight, my diaphram wasn't really able to fully become what it should've become. I also have issues with hormones, as i never really went through puberty in the ordinary sense.
I guess depression also played a part in it too.

I feel like there are a lot of people who should have made this list. Bea Arthur, Bette Davis, Angie Harmon, Bette Midler, Cher, and even Betty White. You know them anytime they do voice work. Some of the people on this list I don't think you could say the same. Drew Barrymore and Charlize Theron are the two that come to mind the quickest. They may sound recognizable, but unlike the ones I mentioned, you wouldn't know right away who that the voice belonged to. It would just sound familiar.

You're missing: Viola Davis, Sigourney Weaver, Jodie Foster, Jamie Lee Curtis, Kristen Stewart, Bernadette Peters, Dakota Fanning and/or Elle Fanning, Maisie Williams, Bella Ramsey, Linda Hamilton, Goldie Hawn, Bea Arthur, Liza Minnelli, Emma Stone, Penelope Cruz, Jessica Lange, Angela Bassett, Juilet Lewis, Queen Latifah. Those are the women who come to mind for me who aren't on the list.

I came here because I HATE my voice. The problem is that I use my voice as the most important part of my job, because I'm a teacher. I was afraid of losing students because my voice is a bit high pitched and too childish for a 30 year old person. But seeing many people with a similar voice made me feel better. Thank you: )

Eartha Kitt Wes truly an icon with her sultry but eerie voice that fit Catwoman well and well impersonated by JuJubee but I was hoping for Jaclyn Smith to be on there she had a innocent tone to her voice and yet sultry sound in her early years as Kelly Garrett of Charlies Angels that was recognizable

Your number 1 is perfect, and your list is excellent. I do think you should have found space for Lucy. That comedian/ actress had one of the most distinctive voices of all of television. And of course Tallulah Bankhead is peerless in this dept.

Wendie Malick should have made this list! Her voice is so easily recognizable and she's played so many great characters, including but not limited to Chicha (The Emperors New Groove, Beatrice (Bojack Horseman, and Eda Clawthorne (The Owl House)

Im 65 years old and Im always being mistaken for a 12 year old girl, when someone calls they always say hi is your mom or dad home. When our oldest daughter has a cold she sounds just like Fran Dresher

I was surprised Emma Stone wasn't on the list, but there is no one else to put at number one. Eartha Kitt is a goddess.
Also, if you hadn't included Kathleen Turner, we were gonna have a problem.

Good picks, but I'd start a second list of distinctive voices with Elizabeth Ashley, Brenda Vaccaro, Joanne Greenwood, Billie Burke, Judy Holliday and Judy Garland.
