How did we never notice these Disney plot holes Welcome to MsMojo and today we’re looking at the most glaring oversights in Disney films. Our countdown includes The Little Mermaid, The Princess and the Frog, Aladdin, and more! Which plot hole has been bugging YOU since you first saw the movie Hi Msmojo, I am a frequent viewer and as a loyal viewer request- could you please do a list regarding dreamworks villains Please They are very underrated and deserve more attention
what if you do a list of top 10 scary dreamworks villains or "top 10 dreamworks villains you liked more than the hero" it could include villains such as Fairy Godmother (shrek, shen and tail lung (kung fu panda), drago( how to train your dragon) and wolf ( puss in boots the last wish). I would be thrilled if you made a list regarding these villains.
i know i have been requesting this for days, but i am a huge fan of yours and i always look up to you, Msmojo

20. Nitpick
19. Nitpick
18. Lack of Insight (Mulan was going to get kicked out of the army due to failing until she stayed to improve herself)
17. Nitpick (I think the bigger question is how dose the mob know where the castle is)
16. Valid (Someone else in the kingdom might have the same foot size as Cinderella)
15. Valid (If we had a scene where Buzz was taught to freeze, then that plot hole wouldn't be an issue.
14. Valid (If Mother Gothel knew about the lanterns, she would've moved and hid Rapunzel somewhere farther away where the lanterns would never be seen)
13. NO! (There are other lions around in the pride lands not just Pride Rock)
12. Valid (We've seen Hercules save multiple lives more than once. That enough should make him a God earlier)
11. Valid (Why not hide Aurora for one more day after her birthday and bring her into the castle at night after her birthday and Aurora would not have fallen asleep)
10. Valid (Why doesn't Tarzan and the other gorillas move the family away from the humans so they won't be seen by them)
9. Lack of Insight (Scar doesn't want to many witnesses to know that he killed Simba. Plus, blood would be all over him and his breath might smell like blood. So, other lions might notice that it was Scar who killed Simba)
8. Valid (Why didn't Carlette turn into a frog)
7. Nitpick
6. Valid (It was explained in Frozen 2 how Elsa got powers. But, not in the original)
5. NO! (Just no. Unnecessary overthinking)
4. Valid (We've seen Tarzan learn how to speak English but Pocahontas learning how to speak English in a blink of an eye not only a valid plot hole, but bad writing)
3. Valid (As someone who was forced to live with people claiming that The Little Mermaid 1989 is a bad movie for 10 years since I became a fan, that's a valid plot hole because Ariel can write when she wrote her name on Ursula's contract. Too bad it sucks that people use that plot hole to claim that "Ariel is an illiterate idiot", like Patrick Star)
2. Nitpick (So the Beast was cursed when he was 11. So, what He was a brat and it was what got him cursed in the first place)
#1. Valid (If Cinderella lost her dress, then the slipper would be gone too. That is a valid plot hole)
Honorable Mentions:
-Tangled (NO)
-Tarzan (Nitpick)
-Hunchback (Lack of Insight. Frollo was responsible for killing Quasimodo's mom)
-Lilo and Stitch (Nitpick. Obviously the people in Hawaii did not know that Stitch was an alien)
-Little Mermaid (Nitpick. Yes. It's nonsensical that Ariel is having dinner where humans eat fish and Ariel was a fish herself. But, does it matter to the plot Is it worth getting angry over)

Alot were fine, but some disagree
Mulan - Would have brought shame and dishonor upon the entire family
Cinderella - cause I think the slipper represented her, I'm sure the magic also made sure it fitted only her
Tangled - Could be bandits, the guards, etc that could caught them if they did try to move out, Gothel was very protective of healing powers
Frozen - Iduna (Elsa Mother) was blessed by Atohallan as a reward for saving Agnarr (Elsa Father) I'm confused cause you did mention the sequel explained it but dismiss it
Aladdin - Well his father was the King of Thieves so maybe cause Aladdin already was an prince technically, the genie can only make him look more like one
The Little Mermaid - I'm 50/50 on agreeing and not, even if she did wrote down that she saved him, how can she get him to believe all about her real life and I doubt she would write how she feel to him than telling him
Hunchback - Cause Frollo saw it in an way to make up for his sins
Cinderella - Surprised this was number 1, the slippers weren't made from anything like the carriage, they were made from pure magic

In various stories Dwarves have a strong love for gems & precious metals so they probably are hoarding them.
Mulan is explained by lines like It is an honor to protect my country and my family. as her father planned to go due to pride not because he had to and the same for why Mulan stayed. She was consistently concerned about bring shame to her family and so she stayed to try to bring honor to them.
Cinderella is answered by. Fairy Godmother magic and the Fairy Godmother playing matchmaker.
Tangled is answered by Mother Gothel being an idiot.
Hercules godhood timing is maybe explained by his mental state as he seemed pretty suicidal when he faced the cyclops and didn’t value his life so it wasn’t a selfless sacrifice but when he literally offered his life’s for Megs it was. In terms of noticing his soul being missing if you notice it’s a giant, swirling river so I could see it being difficult to notice the soul of one toddler.
When it comes to the Lion King I always saw Scar as simply too uppity to get his hands dirty which is common amongst villains.

I'm way more concerned about why Rapunzel's hair never seems to grow after it's been cut. That little strand should be a LOT LOT LOT LONGER but it's still so short. Even in the 2d animated movie/series, despite being several months after she reclaimed her title, her hair still pretty much looks the same as when it was first cut. Same for the wedding, which takes place even longer afterward.
As for frollo, my guess is the priest was HOPING that MAYBE caring for another human being, might actually teach him some empathy. Always sucks when people count on that for someone who CLEARLY won't learn, and the child is left to suffer for it.

Mulan aready answered it herself: Besides her father, she joined, and stayed, to prove something to herself
Also, when it comes to the Beast's age, nobody ever brings up these important details: THE PORTRAIT and CHIP'S AGE. The portrait clearly shows a fully grown person, not a preteen. Also the curse can't be any older than Chip since he's like, what, five or six I think it'd be a stretch to call him ten. Instead of getting hung up on that one song lyric, I like to think it was simply on oversight on the lyricist's part, or Lumierre was exaggerating.

In the live action Aladdin, Jasmine actually asks Aladdin where his kingdom is since she can’t find it on any of her maps and he has Genie make the kingdom’ Ababwa appear after hilariously showing different parts of Disneyland. He gives him a name, fancy clothes and a parade, but certainly he would give him a royal bloodline and homeland so his kingdom can be joined with Agrabah for peace and trade. True Aladdin is an orphan and it’s later revealed his father is the King of Thieves, but he has no extended family or other connections to royalty
reply

With mulanit’s easy to explain why she stayed she was more or less protecting her father from himself. He said it’s an honor to protect and possibly die from protecting his country. But if his daughter is out there fighting, then he feels like his family is represented and she wanted to prove something to everybody that a woman can protect the country and their families just like a man can
reply

Mulan wasn't good at frist, as was told to go away. She almost left but decided to try again at the arrow and the rest is history.
Originally the army expected her father who couldn't do that not anything. We will just not know if they let him go, get more hurt/die, etc.
We know what happens to Mulan in his roll, not what it was to be.

reply

I know it was just an honorable mention, but the Frollo thing really isn't a plot hole
It's subtly explained through the archdeacon that Frollo will be punished by God if he kills Quasimodo, and being the religious fanatic he is, Frollo takes this seriously and even asks the archdeacon what he must do

reply

Aladdin was always a prince because of his father being the king of thieves and everyone called him that and respected him for that it was basically a title that was given to him, and he earned that title so therefore, it made him a king, so Aladdin is a prince the genie owes him
reply

Actually in the story of Mulan, if we were to base it on custom of ancient China it's because of honor that they must strive to do better etc. So yeah she stayed in not because it's just her wild whim but rather because of her moral and philosophical ideal
reply

When you try to find logic and reason in children's movies -_- but the Mulan one is easily explained, being sent away from the army is considered dishonourable, so the Fa family would have been dishonoured if Mulan actually did leave
reply

Adam in Beauty and the Beast is probably not royalty but a lord of a large Manor estate in a feudal society. The fact that the Manor is thought to be abandoned and haunted may mean that the villagers just avoid it.
reply

A lot of these plot holes may be unaswered but they play a part in what makes these Disney movies interesting, At least in terms of theories and what not. Because what fun would there be if everything in these films made sense.
reply

At least the life action Beauty and the Beast addressed why the townspeople didn't seem to know where the Beast had gone, nor question what happened to the Palace staff. I never thought about that aspect as a child.
reply

The reason why glass slippers remain unchanged is according to the Disney princessography book,
Unlike the gown, the glass slippers required almost no magic at all, therefore they were able to remain

reply

Anyone else think maybe Cinderella losing her glass slipper wasn't an accident Suppose since she had met and fallen in love with the prince something was destined to happen to help lead them back together.
reply

Honestly, I try not to think about these things. I get headaches from it. I can theorize about them after I've watched the movie! By then, if the movie hasn't already explained it, I'll cook up some theorise
reply

In east Asian culture, family pride, dignity and status is very very very important, being sent back from the war is not seen as light, it scratches the family prides and status
