too silly so I was looking at this is not good 2nd place okay All I'll say is that I can still remember back when people said that Brother Bear 2, Bambi 2, Mulan 2, and The Fox and the Hound 2 were all considered to be among the most unnecessary sequels ever made, Especially because the plots of these particular sequels didn't really offer much to the stories of the first films. 5 minutes ago (edited) Ralph Breaks the Internet is a disaster, it ruins the message of the first one by letting Vanellope go turbo without thinking about the consequences. The princess scene is the only good thing in the movie Yeah, all those productions made by DisneyToon Studios are officially considered non-canonical Blackout 2 is what I want for early American Fourth of July Christmas. Frozen 2 should be on the list that was as good as the original! The box office became so popular. And the other that missed the mark is Peter Pan: Return to Neverland. Not as great but it was ok.
The Little Mermaid 2 is underrated in my opinion I enjoyed Frozen 2 and Inside Out 2 I’m in the minority, I wasn’t a big Incredibles 2 fan. It was alright, I didn’t see what the big deal was. I remember after seeing it, feeling it was nowhere as good as the original I really despise Mulan Two for multiple reasons it was a complete character assassination for the character of Mushu the story is completely unfocused and makes me believe that China is dead because they didn’t continue with the mission And the animation is just too over the not at top and bouncy I was wondering if you were going to include 3 the Good, even though it’s the newest out of all, it is an amazing movie we like it when you guys bring something from Disney Mulan 2 should have never been made. There was no need for a sequel. Same with Pocahontas although Pocahontas was a real story and her story was already romanticized enough new reboot okay it is I saw Inside Out 2 with my little cousins last week, and we all greatly enjoyed it. We get to see Riley and the rest of the emotions evolve, and they depict anxiety attacks incredibly accurately, without talking down to their target audience. number 1 place is Toy Story 2 and 3 were better than the first. I don’t dislike 4, but it was nowhere in the same league as the previous 3 films I feel Toy Story 2 & 3 are better than Toy Story 1 & 4 Top 10 Best Moments from No Time to Spy: A Loud House Movie! is it the best movie is too silly is it good check it live-action. I actually really like Return of Jafar (though I am willing to admit that could be nostalgia talking as I grew up with the movie) and, much as I don't approve Disney's approach in what that did to Robin Williams, causing him not to come back until the 3rd movie. I think Dan was the only one of the 2 who could be Genie in Return of Jafar and the TV series.
Rewatching episodes and the sequel that started the show last year, I found myself trying to imagine how Robin Williams' Genie would've sounded in those scenes Genie's in. and it just felt wrong.
Dan was perfect for Return of Jafar and the show, leaving Williams as the perfect one for the book ends of the franchise.
While I understand the bad blood regarding the reasons. I honestly feel it worked in the franchise's favour.
It's. hard to put into words what I mean and this is the best I could do.
And I don't get the dislike for Cars 2.
I'll be honest, I actually prefer it to 3.

cinderella 2 only first and second segments only good parts (in fact i only watch them when i watch the movie)
pocahontas is few sequels i don't thinks exists (could have just left john rolfe and pocahontas as good friends or something else
never like little mermaid 2 (melody was only disney sequel kid i never could seem to like (morgana, alex, tip, dash, undertow, cloak & dagger, and songs only things i like from this movie)
mulan 2 needed rewrite
aladdin 2 is only miss the mark due to the lack of robin williams
car 2 could of work as spinoff to cars
bambi 2 is good sequel
lion king 1 1/2 isn't bad but its hard for me to enjoy after they ruined opening scene of 1st movie (i was never fan of fart jokes) if they wanted included timon and pumbaa in that scene but seriously fart joke during iconic moment

I don’t know how many times I’ve said this but I just love it. This is literally the best part of Ralph Breaks The Internet: Vanellope meeting the Disney Princesses (bringing back the incredible voice talents of Jodie Benson, Paige O’ Hara, Linda Larkin, Irene Bedard, Ming-Na Wen, Anika Noni Rose, Mandy Moore, Kelly Macdonald, Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell and Auli’i Cravalho.
I know I’m not a Miss Know It All but I’ve been a Disney lover for years. It even won the award for Best Animated Feature, that’s saying something for a Disney Sequel before 30 Disney Sequels that went Straight to DVD. Yeah, I counted. There’s 32 Disney Sequels. Another great part is their new looks that represents their iconic look from the movie. Great work animators and Jaq and Gus!

One of my top Disney sequels is Lady and the Tramp 2: Scamp's Adventure. It was very sweet and had good animation, plus a couple of good songs I still hum to to this day. Lady and the Tramp is just a sweet movie though so it probably wasn't hard to make a sequel to.
Now, amongst my least faves/missed the mark. The Hunchback of Notre Dame 2. I wanted to like it and I guess I'm happy Quasi got his love story, but it just. didn't carry the same weight or significance as the first. Frollo is such a terrifying villain compared the cheap circus clown in the next. I can't even remember his name. And the music is so bland. not one song holds a candle to Out There or God Help the Outcast. And Phoebus and Esmerelda's son Zephyr is kind of annoying.

My thoughts on each film on the list
Cinderella 2: l love a good anthology
Incredibles 2: I laugh at times when I first saw it
Pocahontas 2: definitely problematic more than the first
Little mermaid 2: the animation is a tad strange
Mulan II: one of my favourite princess gets sequel mhhh
Inside out 2: gave me less flashbacks to Nina and the neurons which I feel was an inspiration for the colours of the og five emotions
The return of jafar: very glitchy animation
Simba’s pride: I love kovu’s design he’s so cute and this also helped lead up to the awesome lion guard
Belles magic world: same reason as return of jafar
Toy stories 2 & 3: I cried at the sequel and third one was intense

2 honourable mentions (just as good): Peter Pan 2: Return to Neverland and Jungle Book 2
With the former, given how Ariel absolutely didn't age in the Little Mermaid sequel, this movie honestly deserves a lot of props for actually growing up and maturing Wendy.
And with the latter, given how great both the voice cast and the animation were, this one deserves some kind of attention. Especially how the sequel gave an emotional goodbye between Mowgli and Baloo as well as an intense climax.
Both might not be all that great, but there was still just enough decency to make them two of the better direct-to-DVD sequels.

Disney would NEVER tell the real version of Pocahontas through film, no studio would. To know we got a magical musical romance that ends with heartbreak instead of happily ever after is truly relateable and compelling, something most other Disney cookie cutter fairy tale films don’t have. Disney disneyfied Pocahontas’ story, just as they disneyfied the actual horror stories of The Little Mermaid, Rapunzel and Snow White. Stop shaming Pocahontas, the world got to understand her culture whilst meshing it with Disney magic, it’s not supposed to be what really happened, who would want to see that on screen

Disney has always been the sequel generated monsters even outside of animated features. I know making live action successors is a different story because that’s basically what every studio does but I can’t help myself from saying that Spider-Man Far From Home by Sony should’ve been a final film of the MCU to wrap up. When new MCU films came around & declining effects & good stories, let me tell you guys. it’s not Marvel’s fault or Disney’s fault, it’s the fans. It was YOU, all you Marvel fans are the ones who wanted to see more from this franchise.

Nothing will ever beat the original Lion King but the 2nd was decent, thanks to the storyline which ties in well with current circumstances. I quite liked Aladdin 3 but the 2nd I completely agree was terrible. I didn’t mind Mulan 2, and Beauty and The Beast Enchanted Christmas. I also loved the TV series of both Little Mermaid and Aladdin, but after that everything else was very meh.
Admittedly I haven’t watched Frozen 2, not to mention a few other sequels. I was never a lover of Cinderella, I honestly prefer the live action film.

Absolutely disagree on Frozen 2, The Incredibles 2 and Ralph breaks the internet.
Even with being monetary successes. one is full of argumental plot holes that rest the seriousness it wants to bring, the next has a lame as fucc villain what was a BIG part of why thr first one is awesome and the last one destroyed the logic nad message of the first one.
Plus I2 and F2 have a common problem: secondary characters nobody cares. neither the story.
Monstruosities No.
Good as the first one Hell no.

(Coughing) So sorry but The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea isn’t exactly one of the great sequels. It’s a nice story but doesn’t exactly measure up to the original. It’s nice that the talented Tara Strong voices Ariel’s daughter Melody but Morgana, the sister of Ursula is nothing like her (whom is voiced by Pat Carroll. It didn’t even make sense. Why would Ursula have a sister in the sequel when she was already related to King Triton

I agree Cinderella 2 & Aladdin 2 was bad sequels but Cinderella 3 & Aladdin 3 was as good as the originals which I find it a little weird that they did that. Why was the 3rd movies a lot better than the 2nd one. I hated Aladdin 2 but Cinderella 2 I liked it but that as much as the first one so of the stories I like in it but some I didn't. I actually loved Mulan 2 but it wasn't as good as the original but I actually loved the story and music.

I don't really understand where people get the idea that Kovu is the son of Scar, whether adobted or biological. All we are told is that Zira, Kovu's mother, was a follower of Scar, along with the rest of the Outcasts. Nothing there indicates Scar is the father of Kovu. Just that these guys sided with Scar when he took over the Pridelands, and were banished as a result. Sure he could be, considering we don't exactly know his dad, but still.

To be fair though, even if Disney never had any falling out with the late Robin Williams over breaking some of the rules in his contract to allow the Genie more prominence in the ads, I highly doubt Robin would’ve returned for the Aladdin series or Return of Jafar considering like most famous celebrities, his busy schedule would’ve prevented it. I think him being replaced by Dan Castenella would’ve happened regardless.
reply

Most of the sequels that you mentioned on this list that YOU said were bad, are actually good and not bad except for beauty and the beast 3 cuz that was horrible, inside out 2 would have been better if anxiety looked at 10 more human instead of it's a weird look and no I haven't watched it yet but I might at some point not sure when. If you're able to hope for an eventual part 2 PLEASE
reply

If I were you guys, I'd include The Rescuers Down Under and call it better than the original, include Frozen 2, but call it just as BAD and OVERRATED as the original, and include Ralph Breaks The Internet, but call it MISSED THE MARK. Also, you forgot about Fantasia 2000, though I wouldn't call it just as good as the original, but still a worthy sequel.
reply

My just as good sequels: Lion King two and three (one and a half in North America)
My guilty pleasure sequel that I love that mostly everyone hates: the hunchback of Notre Dame 2
My missed the mark sequels: the little mermaid two and its prequel Ariel beginning, beauty and the beast Belle’s magical world, Tarzan and Jane and Atlantis Milos return

DP: It is out ragouse out standing!
Aka meaning that to goo indeed that Frozen 2 reach uper in greater level then the original, but me I an say it's still both unstoppable to say which one is stupendous film.
For me what I gotta say is about I got no rated point of which film miss the mark, for the return of Jafar and the rescuers.
