My dad was a very typical Chicano macho man who was raised in the '50s and early '60s. He was an amateur boxer in his youth, was employed as a blue-collar tradesman, knew all the Clint Eastwood and John Wayne Westerns by heart, and didn't believe in smiling for photos. Yet he was my more motivational and nurturing parent and wasn't threatened at all by women having agency and a voice, standing up for themselves, and demanding respect. He was a real man, unlike the soft little boys who frequently leave whiny comments on these kinds of videos that show that they're too wimpy to handle the idea of a strong woman. If we women could call these losers (and they ARE losers) out on a more frequent basis, maybe we can trigger these fragile snowflakes into either breaking down and realizing just how pathetic they're being or giving up and going back to sitting on the couch in their parents' basement, playing video games all day and doing nothing with their lives.

#2 reminds me of a part of this show that I used to watch. Don't remember what it was called, but it was like a variety show of sorts. Anyway on this episode about puberty, it had this reporter talking about parents getting too involved in their kids' puberty. There was a girl who didn't want to come out of the stall because her parents threw a party when she got her first period. This segment was supposed to be a PSA kind of thing. It was a weird high school show.

All of those multinational corporations are so hypocrites. Using cheap/slave/childrens labour in poor countries and sell their products in the first world countries promoting equality and supporting feminism. After Gillette feminists ad, I boycott any of Procter&Gamble products. And now I can see my list gonna be bigger. Thanks to Gillette, now I start to pay attention of what I buy.

Ads are just trying to sell you a product. They don't care about you, the marketing team just tries to shill to the lowest common denominator that'll buy their product. If you need corporate america to craft ads that pander to your ego in order to feel empowered and inspired then that is very sad.

I hate women empowerment ads. It's just a company earning a profit off of women insecurities. Women don't need ads to encourage them. Also, where are the ads of women working on cars. I'm a woman and I can work on car as well as man.

Everyone of these was created merely to manipulate you, to convince you to think positively about an entity that is there to ultimately exploit you. Most of the comments here show how easily, and how well, the Ad companies succeeded.

It's okay for her to say women sweating like pigs but if a guy says that and I wouldn't say that by the way but if I had said that it would have been smoking in the city

Anyone know where I can find a English subtitle version of the Ariel #sharetheload ad? I want to use for my class and I can't find one that has subtitles.

I throw seventy miles per hour, that's throwing like a girl. No, that's throwing more like a guy, which is good because it's above average for women

I went back and watched all these commercials, and I am weeping. Brilliant ads! Loved every single one.
