Jack’s coming out on a two-episode story arc in Dawson’s Creek was really groundbreaking at the time, especially for us male teens who had no role model (Willow had come out earlier that month on Buffy. The scene he stood up to his father was a total tearjerker.
Another great scene was the You are glasses monologue in Grey’s Anatomy. Callie’s first on-screen girlfriend was written off because the actors lacked chemistry, but that doesn’t erase how moving the scene was when she made a perfect analogy to realizing she’s gay.
If they make a top 20, they should def include these two scenes.

I remember there was a good one on the original season of Skins. The gay character had been lifelong best friends with a Muslim guy and was basically a 2nd son to that guy's family. He was really nervous about coming out to that family but eventually the dad found out and said something like Its a messed up world and there are lots of things I don't understand, but I have my God, and I know one day he will help me understand. It's called faith, I'm a lucky man. Come inside, son, the food is ready I remember watching that years ago and thinking it was very casually beautiful

Nick's mom's reaction is what we want when we come out. My mom was 100percent supportive of me but me and my dad never spoke again after I came out to them up until the day he passed away we never spoke. In a real world I would've loved the ending Patrick got I Schitts Creek but it's never like that in real life

There is NO WAY that you made this and didn't include Marco from Degrassi TNG! Those characters were the same age as me and Marco coming out was so iconic. It's the ultimate millennial coming out story! He did it in front of his entire school! He came out to his homophobic father. Please make a part 2!

I was hoping Umbrella Academy and Doom Patrol would have made the list. UA did it with subtlety when Viktor told his family. While in Doom Patrol, Mora Lee Corrupt kicked ass and made it clear she was no less a person because of who she decided to be.

I love that instead of Steve and Robin inevitably ending up together, Joe and Maya felt that it would be better for Robin to come out to him. Even better, Steve instantly accepts this, and good naturedly teases her about her dodgy taste in girls.
