Cursed Child is good. But Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them is better. So I'd recommend the Fantastic Beasts script book. Or both.
Also I'd recommend Fantastic Beasts tickets (if they haven't seen it yet) even more-so.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child was terrible. Instead of Cursed Child, it would be better to get one or two of the actual 7 books (which I think would be under $50) for someone who doesn't have them.
