#10 can probably be explained by the following: 1) We see the ring actually getting destroyed; if it sank immediately, we subliminally think, it might remain intact despite no longer being accessible. 2) We see limited realism: assuming that the ambient heat weren't enough to instantly melt the ring, it would take the breakup and convective scattering of hardened lava to expose the metal to molten material. The magical nature of the ring also makes immediate destruction less plausible.
Thus the artistry has some logic behind it. 3) Audience members who empathised with Frodo feel vindicated upon seeingthe lava take ten seconds to melt the ring. In other words, Frodo's struggle to resist corruption looks less pathetic if a force of nature has to struggle against the ring.

The scene in Hook where the little boy takes Robin Williams' glasses off and stretches his face to see if he's really Peter Pan always gave me ASMR. Not sure if it's considered oddly satisfying but it always relaxes me. There's also every scene in Death Becomes Her with Isabella Rossellini that I've watched over and over again because of the ASMR effect it has on me.

Actually there are two from The Princess Bride I like. One is after Count Rugen uses the machine on Westly, the way he talks is just so soothing like a doctor or psychologist. Also at the ending, the credits end with Miracle Max and his wife Valery waving good bye to the audience always gives me a good feeling that is hard to describe.

as a German I can not at all agree with your number 9. It was about the most UNsastifying movie moment I ever shared with people in a theater. The groan of the audience in unison over the considered sin that is to remove the foam on top of a beer was the truely satisfying moment there.

What is the point of analyzing everything to death? These are good scenes but why go into such detail? Why do you have to tell us why we like it? Now explain why people enjoy a nice cold glass of water. The cold refreshing liquid feels so good on our parched throat. Ok. so what.

I thought this was going to be about ASMR in movies, but nope, it wasn't. How disappointing.
Oh, and The Land Before Time is NOT a children's film, but rather a family film. I hate it when people assume that a film must be for kids if it's animated.

THANK YOU for mentioning Spike eating his grass nest. When I was a kid I found this moment to be very satisying for some reason. Idk if it's because it made me hungry or whatever but I always loved that part as a kid.

I'm being honest here, the moment in cars when Guido is cleaning Lightning's wheels has always been oddly satisfying for me and I just never knew why. Anyone else there with me?

literally the entire movie of Edward Scissorhands is so satisfying, Edwards soft voice, the makeup scenes, the suburbs, and everything he cuts up with the scissors

The Snapchat oddly satisfying posts are beyond annoying. What's satisfying about a girl with chipped nail polish crushing eggshells between her chubby fingers!

#6 probably has to do with audience members empathizing with Little Foot and his mother. Their circumstances definitely make things look the way they do!

I'm about halfway through and getting ready to vehemently disagree with #1 if it isn't the haircut in Edward Scissorhands.
