I'm one of those people that just can't learn a new language. I tried Spanish and Latin and couldn't get it. I can read Spanish and somewhat remember Latin, but I can't speak Spanish and can once in awhile catch words here and there in a Spanish speaking convo, but otherwise I'm useless in that department. I wish my family would've just raised me speaking both English and Spanish. My great grandparents had the fear of their grandkids having learning disabilities by learning spanish first, being in the US, so half of us were never raised with Spanish at all. It wasn't til I was a teen that I realized the older gens (on my mom's mom's side) all spoke Spanish and I was like whaaa well thanks alot guys I could've been naturally bilingual but nooooo. I told them all that they're allowed to speak to my kids, that I'll have someday, in both English and Spanish so my kids are raised speaking both. Hopefully they'll appreciate it.

I can do 5/10 (swimming, doing laundry, driving, cooking, speaking multiple languages - English being my second.
In addition, I know how to grow veggies in theory (my dad has a huge vegetable garden, where I spent half of my childhood watching him tend to his plants) and I had to take two coding classes at university, but I completely sucked at them.
I do not know how to make a fire, how to sew, or how to defend myself. :/
What I'm also lacking in are mechanical skills. I should really learn how to repair stuff and change a tire. :O

As the mother of two adult sons, the things my sons call me most for help with: cooking, sewing and laundry. The kicker? They're both in long-term relationships. What's funny is that I could interest them in driving and car maintenance, and they use those less, because they live in a big city that has good public transportation. Lol

Not too sure why singing/playing an instrument is on this list or coding since there will always be some sort of manual labor job that coding wouldn't be needed for and singing/playing an instrument isn't needed for survival or make life easier unless you're good at it and then you need to get lucky and be discovered.

So your telling me that coding made the list, but CPR is honorable mention? What kind of mixed up logic is that? I agreed with everything on your list except coding. You never said why coding is so essential. what in the world?

You're wrong about Coding that is a very backwards thoguht.
Also no matter how old you are. I'm pretty sure my 9 year old doesn't need to learn to cook yet.

You should be taught to cook at least by age 8. Men and women both need to learn. Great least. I wish I knew car stuff I can drive though

Sewing, cooking, paying bills without the stress, learning to stand up for yourselves, is something I have a hard time learning.

again. Sandbox gardening was not a good idea. Oh and I am also glad to be a reader. Working on figuring out the music thing.
