There is a theory that it will be set in Yokuda, due to the geography we've been shown. It is a province that was sunken, so the game would take place BEFORE it was sunken and therefore the area of land would be very large. Here is what the Elder Scrolls Wiki says about Yokuda, -The majority of the continent sank into the sea in 1E 792, although the cause of this catastrophe is still debated today. [2] Some suggest a series of natural earthquakes caused it, while others argue that it was the Ansei group, the Hiradirge. [2] The Yokudans escaped this disaster by traveling to Tamriel, in the province of what would later become Hammerfell, arriving in year 808 of the First Era. [3][4] One reference claims that -the Redguards destroyed Yokuda so they could make their journey- to Tamriel, but does not elaborate. [5]- So perhaps we will be experiencing the disasters that lead to the sinking of Yokuda? This would make sense because Todd said that Bethesda did not have the technology to pull off the things they want to do in the game. I think we are seeing Yokuda prior to its destruction and we will find out what cause the great area of land to sink.

I think it's quite possible that this is not even Tamriel. Think about it.
The Elder Scrolls Online has got all the regions. At least from DLC to DLC we always get another one. Why would Bethesda pick only one place to tell a story. They will leave those chances to the developers of TESO.
By the way, Tamriel is only one continent on planet Nirn. so this might be Tang Mo or even Wildnis in my humble opinion but I'm no expert. :)

Emboldened by the disharmony caused by the Stormcloaks in Skyrim nearby, the Orcs are marching on High Rock to unseat the Bretons and reclaim their homeland. You, the player, break out of prison to discover that you are the chosen one spoken of in the Elder Scrolls who will resolve the conflict between Orsimer and Breton once and for all - you, of course, get to decide what that means.

While geographically, High Rock makes the most sense (it has a bay. and high rocks, setting the game there means they need to deal with the fact that most of the regions recent history is defined by one of the crazier parts of ES lore: The Dragon Break. The narrative fudge that means all of the possible endings to Daggerfall actually happened, even though they contradict one another.

I would go for the Summerset Isles or High Rock. The main thing that pushes me towards High Rock is the fort. But the main thing that pushes me away from it is that Daggerfall was already set there. Plus, the Summerset Isles would form a much nicer contrast with Skyrim. Very southern and pro-elf and prosperous vs. very northern and anti-elf and in trouble.

Has anyone said an Elder Scrolls game cannot spand two regions? High Rock is certainly likely, but I don't think it'll be High Rock exclusively. I think VI will spand both High Rock and Hammerfell. The reason I think this is climate. Assuming Tamriel follows roughly the same climate patterns as Earth, High Rock has more or less the same climate as Skyrim.

I really think its either Akavir or Yokuda. There was a voice line/dialogue in Morrowind that stated that the Akaviri people were going to invade after an -Imperial civil war- a. k. a. Imperials vs Stormcloaks of Skyrim. Morrowind was known to also predict the setting and story of TES4 Oblivion, so I might add, it could be a reliable source.

Lol, the Bretons aren't boring; they're just very much like the white people we know and love - or love to hate - in real life, as opposed to elves or lizards. Doesn't mean it can't be a fun place to explore. And there'd be Orcs too, and bordering Hammerfell and Skyrim, there should be a fair amount of Redguards and Nords too.

I think it could be Hammerfell - not all of Hammerfell is sandy desert like the Alik'r, there is also Southern Bangkorai, Craglorn and Hew's Bane which are more craggy and arid than they are pure desert. Plus Hammerfell is home to the Dragontail Mountains, so I wouldn't rule Hammerfell out just yet.

Problems:
1: The coast matches Northern Hammerfell
2: But the mountains match the Dragon Tail mountains.
3: That's just the edge of the Crater of Volendrung.
4: So is every were and that strong hold looks Redguard.
Orcs will less in High Rock now and a bit more in Hammerfell.

High Rock is the most boring region they could have picked, so of course they picked it. Plenty of people called this way we saw anything because it's obvious that they're not willing to break away from using Tamriel as a LOTR cipher. Bethesda is run by a bunch of hacks these days.

I don't mind High Rock but it seems a little small and mostly water, so I hope its at least High Rock AND Hammerfell. In an ideal world it would be in Akavir because im lore thirsty and akavir sounds awesome but i know we aint gettin that

I mean, Highrock kind of makes sense because it Skyrim and Cyrodil are the only true Imperial controlled provinces, but like come one, give us the freeing of Elsweyr from the Aldmeri Dominion already. That's WAY more interesting.

Can't stop laughing at -Bretons, who are boring- because I was talking to a friend yesterday about which races we've played and honest to god forgot they existed until this very moment even though I've played as them before

That shot matches the description of eastern Sumerset really well: rolling hills and rugged mountains. Also, the architecture of the fortress is really round, which i think is much more in line with the elven style

I think it could be Elswyer. Which contains both terrain matching this video, and the jungle surrounded by that. Also that fortress also matches that of old khajiti architecture. High forest are more Valenwood

But hammerfell has mountains in it too and grasslands. Also that plateau looks like it could be the crater where the dwemer hammer landed when they flung it (forgot the name of it but it started with a vul)

-We'll see you in High Rock in 2030-
Oh, you card! We all know it's coming out much sooner than that! 2020, surely.
Though it will be seeing its 15th re-release in 2030 so you're still right.

I wouldn't be surprised if the next game took place over multiple regions. I feel like that's the next big push for Elder Scrolls, and a globe trotting adventure would be pretty incredible.

There's some pretty interesting arguments for the possibility of it being in Akavir on Reddit, most convincing of all being that it has the Roman numerals for 6 in it. It basically confirms it

The Alik'r desert is only about a third of the landmass of Hammerfell. I don't think it's reasonable to write off Hammerfell based off of the fact that we didn't see desert here.

Maybe they're actually doing something interesting with the series and it's in a different continent, like the one with lion dragon people in the east where the blades came from.

I just hope that wherever it is it's gonna be more fantastical than Skyrim was. I guess there's a chance of that if it really is elf country

Bretons vs Orcs? Could be interesting. Still wondering what the Redguard trademark was all about. Perhaps it will be High Rock and Hammerfell?
