The Vietnam war wasn't just a tragedy for Vietnam, or a bungle by the US. It was a fundamentally imperialist war that the US is responsible for. I'm incredibly disappointed at Polygon, which used to post thoughtful well researched videos. This is just another cog in the machine of endless war reproductions that are more interested in the accuracy of battlefields and weapon systems than in the human cost of war.

As a historian, this attention to detail is stunning. I am quite shocked at the transparency regarding the subject matter and how Vietnam is a more complicated conflict, meanwhile WWII’s narratives are more dominated by newsreels, propaganda, curated media. I hope they don’t shy from centering the NLF (Viet Cong to Westerners) and PAVN, and I hope the ARVN gets a spotlight too!

This seems like what i wanted from rising storm 2. Rising storm has hardcore gunplay, but other than that the gameplay doesnt lend itself much to realism due to game modes and map sizes.
If players can actually communicate instead of larp or scream in engrish then it could be pretty fun.
