Musically a very strong year - every genre at its peak and co-existed. All these songs still sound very good today. I remember Texas Lightning - everyone thought it would have won Eurovision for Germany that year. Lordi was deserved, but that song had such a charm. Personally, it was a poor year for me - a nervous breakdown, a temporary relationship breakdown and a lot of these songs I can relate too. 'Goodbye My Lover' was played at the funeral of my late ex who died young at the age of 32 in 2014 and it is a very special song to me. Perhaps one day we'll reunite Richard. Xx

Wow. Each year just gets worse and worse to where this year there was only ONE good song.
Sure, there were a couple of okay songs, but not anything that's worth saving (I'm creating my music collection going through every year.
The late '70s, '80s, and early '90s were literally the BEST music years. I have over some 3, 000 songs from those years. But after that till this moment, I have only like 170 in essentially the SAME amount of time. WOW!

Nelly Furtado had one of the most bipolar music careers ever; from 2000 when she started her career with the songs I’m Like A Bird & Turn Off The Light; then she was forgotten after that for 5/6 years and then suddenly comes back with the Loose album bringing her back to the top (2006-2007) and then her disappearing again ( sucks the new generation will never know how good she truly was in her peak )

2006 not a good year for music. Thank heavens there were some really good exceptions that were actually different than the majority of the dross. Stuff like Evanescence, Snow Patrol, James Blunt, The Fray, Pink, My Chemical Romance, The Killers and Gwen Stefani made listening to radio that year bearable.

There are probably many of you here that feel nostalgic hearing those songs but I'm out at this point in time. I can't really identify what it is that made the late 90s and early 2000s so incredibly catchy while always leaving me between happyness and melancholy. It's strange!

Hinder Nickelback - and so many more - auto tune - same fake voice - I was dancing to the great club music 90s 2000s but the rest was a huge drop in level from 70s 80s much of 90s my dears literally 5 songs that I really love the rest meh

The final great year of rock music Emo and post punk revival were at their peak. pop rock was more balanced between the two genres compared to the entire 2010s. We still got many rock songs after 2006 just not to the many as 2006

As far as hits go, I really had my pick of genres that year! That's the year when I gained employment at the department I still work in as of 2023. This video montage reminds me of how much I dig Sean Paul's music.

Check out Marion Raven if you haven't heard of her she's the girl in the It's All Coming Back To Me Now video, really her early - middle 2000s stuff is underrated she was so so cool.

I was born that year, and I'm really into the songs from the 80's to 2010's, they're the best in my opinion, but some recent songs still freaking slap

Chasing Cars was the best song of that year. Evanesence, Raconteurs, Jack Johnson, My chemical romance Kooks, The killers and RHCHP were awesome.
