Cat Who Wouldn't Move in Shelter Loves to Hug Her Moms Now - GRACIE I have a full grown cat around 5, 6 years old. Hes a big cat, he was born under my home from a stray and been around all his life. To this day hes still scared of his shadow and will not come inside. Ive never did one thing to this cat, it took a couple years till hed even let me get close enough to pet him but he always ate the food I set out and never roamed off. Hes much better now but still timid at times. I honestly think a wild animal scared him once or twice when he was a kitten and could have died. There use to be a huge owl around here, and I think it got all the other kittens except this one cat, as one by one they just all a sudden disappeared. Good thing is I havent heard this owl in a couple years now and they wont mess with a full grown cat. Once a animal gets mental shock it sometimes takes a lot to pull them out of it.

My gf and I had a boy cat already. Wanted to get another boy cat so he wouldn't be lonely while we were at work. Went to the shelter and they had like 2 litters of black kittens, so like 8 or 9 in total. We said we wanted a boy and went out to fill out the adoption paperwork.
When it came time to pick out a kitten. I grabbed the tiniest one hiding all the way in the back and named him Louie Lemongrass. Turns out, of the 9 or so kittens, I picked out the only female cat among them. We renamed her Lucy Lemongrass, and now we get yelled at by the vet because she's a bit overweight. But I love her more than I love most humans.

This gave me a lot of hope! Thank you! I volunteer at a shelter twice a week and we have a cat who does not move. He sits in this tent type bed they gave him and lets us pet him, and must come out because he does use the litter and eats, but I’m assuming that’s at night. I’m bringing him home today to foster and I was very scared he would just hate me for the ride in the car and the carry up the stairs and the whole thing of change, but he has his own room and I’m hoping by reading and singing to him etc, which is what I do at the shelter for cats, he comes out of his shell. I really hope I can help him

Thank you for saving Gracie. I cannot imagine what was done to her for her to be that scared. People are the devil. But some people, although the minority are actively making this world a better place for the fur angels. Thank you for giving Gracie and Fred the home they deserve.

There are thousands of homeless animals, and thousands more that are 'put down' because they don't have room for all. Spay/fix all pets, strays, ferals to stop the sorrow. End puppy mills, etc. and pet stores only can sell animals obtained from shelters.

Looks just my 1st cat Mama. I had fed her as a kitten while running late for a job. Next time I saw her it looked like she was pregnant. I took her in but found out she had them months ago. I made the fatal statement oh what’s 1 cat HAAA!

A couple years ago I met an aggressive little bunny at a rescue, she kept boxing and attacking me, but the second we put her in the carry case to come home she became a totally different bunny and has never shown any sign of aggression since

My dog was kind of like this in her kennel at the shelter. She has _bad_ claustrophobia and she was cowering and shaking. We adopted her that night.
