Golden Retriever Rescued From Puppy Mill Treats Her First Toy Like A Baby Foster Diaries My second rescue beagle (who weighed 9 lbs when foundbelieved to be 4 yrs old heart worm w intestinal parasites) we believe was dumped on a county road by a backyard breeder bc she was obviously so sick. It happens often in rural Alabamaunfortunately. The rescue named her Angelthinking she might not survive. Angel exhibited the same behaviors w a soft toy! I’ve had her 5 years and she’s a chunky queen! Still breaks my heart when she carries her baby around

The Amish operate most of the puppy mills. They don’t think animals have souls. My friend 3: 53 bought a small farm in Amish country in Ohio. Her Amish neighbors beat their working horses and kicked and brutalized the dogs kept outside to guard the goats which they used to make Amish cheese. She had to sell because it was making her physically and emotionally ill. Puppy mills are horrific. People that buy animals from pet stores are supporting this cruelty.

My little sausage dog girl was also used as a breeding dog before I could rescue her (she’s retired now of course with me in her forever home. I don’t know what her situation was like, maybe it wasn’t so bad (although her belly now drags on the floor from being a momma too often. But I think about her puppies a lot, I wish I knew where they went to and if they are in good homes now.

It never ceases to amaze me that the people who run puppy mills are so evil and heartless to dogs that just want to give love and receive love. Puppy mills should be illegal. It's unconscionable that living, breathing beings are treated this way. It makes me cry to listen to her crying as she held that toy in her mouth as if it was one of her own stolen babies. heartbreaking.

People that can treat animals so inhumanly must be missing something mentally or emotionally. How could someone possibly keep a sentient being locked in a cage, artificially inseminating her, take her pups away over and over and not feel a shred of guilt. Whoever you are, may you rot in hell.
Whoever saved Elenor from her hell, may you be blessed.

So true these puppy mills have to be shut down for good it really hurts me and breaks my heart every time I see videos like this but at least there are really kind people who really do care about animals thank you all for the Good things you do helping these poor sweet animals

I rescued a 6 year old beagle. She had never been out of a crate. No medical care. Severely malnourished and filthy dirty. One year later she knows she is sage and never leaves my side. Always rescue dogs!

I also adopted a dog who had been a breeder in a puppy mill, and she carried her toys around exactly the same way. I made sure she always had plenty of little toys the size of her babies to mother.

Shelter rescues are truly something else. I adopted my first shelter pup (Cleo) in the beginning of April. She is my whole world and there are videos on my page if you want to see my silly girl
reply

I hope Jill decides to adopt her. They have built such a loving connection that I would hate to see Eleanor having to get used to another human like that, all over again.

She was like, 'Thank you for not taking my babies away mama'
I'll bet if you took in a baby anything - she would be the best mama ever. She needs a furry face to love.

Golden retrievers are such gentle, mellow dogs. To end up in this state she must have been in horrendous conditions. May karma be visited upon the evil ones who harmed her

Awesome story, we have 2 puppy mill foster fails for the last 8 months. They have come such a long way. They now love to play and go outside, very rewarding.

Poor little girl. She needs to have her own babies in her own time and then love them for as long as she is allowed. Beautiful little girl xx
reply

She needs a real puppy so she can, hopefully, forget what she never was allowed to keep. THINK: If you couldn't have YOUR baby, how would you feel
reply

This broke me heart. To see her craving for her her babies was so sad. Thank you for caring for this beautiful soul and helping her heal.

What I don’t understand is tearing this poor sog away from her foster home. That has to be traumatic unless this lady kept Elenor.
reply

We adopt 'retired' puppy mill Yorkies. Our current female looks under my phone or digs into my lap if she hears puppies on my phone.
reply

Get her a puppy she must need to feel n experience the emotion of being a mother so please get her a puppy to enjoy motherhood
reply

It's truly a crime against the universe what some people do to these animals. Smh. Glad this dog got a chance at a good life.
reply

Eleanor is so sweet. Sometimes I just don’t understand humans that mistreat animals. PS. Love her name too.
reply

So happy to see that this poor dog was treated by this woman with a tremendous amount of love and compassion.
reply

Anyone that buys an animal from a mill is horrible. That's just my opinion. But we should adoot. People hat
reply

It takes a lot to break a Golden’s spirit. If you see a depressed golden that means they have gone through hell.
reply

People need to stop buying Goldens. As long as there's a market, there will be puppy mills and abused moms.
reply

My former puppy mill dog did the same thing. She would even try to save her food and feed the stuffed toys.
reply

Thank you for loving her and giving her stability. Finally she's happy the way she deserves to be so
reply

Beautiful video. You should also get another baby animal for her to mother (puppy, kitten, etc)
reply

The exact same happens to dairy cows, which is why I switched to oat milk and eat mostly vegan
reply

Universe will never forgive our kind for what we have done to animals. This breaks my heart.
reply

Oh this is too sad that poor sweet girl, enjoy the rest of your life beautiful girl
