adorable story. we have 4 retired racers, and one of them is definitely a Diva. on your point about emerging personalities. all 4 greyhounds experienced this. each one on a different time scale and worked into different personalities. the fact that they can go from the racetrack environment to ones' living room says much about this breed of dog. What happens is they begin to become dogs. They are no longer hindered by the racing environment. It was interesting to observe each one coming out sort-of-speak. your sweetie seems like just a lovely greyhound.

Lucky lucky dog! They are perfect for each other! This world can feel so dark and hopeless. Human beings can be so selfish and cruel. I know it's a terrible thing but I start feeling the world would be better off without us.
And then she comes along LOL and suddenly it's a beautiful world and people are wonderful! These kinds of people are my heroes!

animal racing is evil. anyone who argues is in denial regarding what goes on behind the scenes. same for dogs being used to baby make for money! spay and neuter> dont you think with the US killing-aka euthanizing over a million animals per year is enuff. we have too many pet animals already. we dont need more!

I've had four greyhounds over the years and they are the most wonderful dogs in the universe. My second grey had an overbite just like Salty's. Greys are smart, funny, lovable and so sweet natured. I hope to have a greyhound in my life for the rest of my life.

Our rescued Greyhound; Rosie, won 60 of 70 races. She was injured on the track, we paid the Vet bill rather than having her put down. Rosie is now 16 years old, yet turns into puppy Zoomies with our young Vizula.

So true, have had 2 greyhounds, never regretted it, wonderful doggos! Not a day goes by that I don’t touch their photos and shed a tear, they passed a few years back

Salty remains me of my fussy 20 year old dachshund. She also won't get in bed and relax unless the blanket is just right. She's the queen of the house
