Baby Skunk Stomps His Tiny Feet When He Wants To Dominate Stompy McGee, lol, that was precious. What you have done for these beautiful babies is heroic. Ty so much for saving an animal that, most ppl in the world, would try to avoid and walk away from. I have rescued cats/kittens for almost 2 decades and have dedicated my life to ensuring that they, not only survive, but thrive. I know very little about skunks or skunk babies except that they are so precious looking and seem domesticable if given the chance. I do have one question though. How do you keep them from spraying you Do they do it for the same reasons that cats spray Do they do it to protect themselves from predators Do you constantly smell that horrible smell that we all have smelled at one time or another Im just curious. ALL animals deserve to live their best lives, they all deserve respect and love. Not a single one is exempt from this rule, no matter how stinky lol. I would love to spend some time w one of these babies and learn how their species is the same and/or different than the other ones that I am familiar w. Ty for any knowledge you can impart.

There was a family of skunks that made a home under my shed years ago. I had a flowerbed close to the shed and started noticing the tops of the flowers would be missing. So one evening I was sitting outside and noticed some movement by the garden. When I stood up for a better look I could see the tails of mama and 5 babies all in a line making their way down the rows of flowers just enjoying their little flower feast. I had no idea they ate flowers.
Tbh, I never enjoyed those flowers more than the summer the skunk family found them. I loved watching them

I was born on and lived on US veterans' hospitals back in the 1950s until sometime in the 1960s, when they closed all the old ones, which were on old army bases. We lived in old nurses' quarters. Anyway, on the post in Nashville, where the doctors and their families lived, there were lots and lots of skunks. They had nests under the corridors that connected the buildings. They were basically tame, and would come up to us when we sat on lawn chairs in the summer. Lots of friendly baby skunks! I've never encountered that anywhere else.

We used to live in a house that was part of the evening route for a skunk family. We could set our clocks by them. They seem to have very poor vision (nearsighted) and if I encountered one outside I would stand absolutely still while the skunk sniffed the air. The skunk would move on after deciding that there was nothing to hear or smell here.

I took cat food out to a flat granite stone every night. Skunks, raccoons, opossums, came to feed. Sometimes they would be touching side to side. Getting along, just crunching away. Some nights when I was running a bit late Fi-Fi would wait for me. Never once sprayed but I always expect a major run-in some night.

When my cat was only a year old, he befriended a skunk and a squirrel in the yard. They were all pretty good buddies for a few years. I wouldn't let the wild ones in though, since it's against the law to have wildlife as pets here in Canada. They were an odd trio that's for sure. This little one is so adorable.

I guess you could say having to say goodbye really stinks, I hope they may even be able to find their biological parents again one day possibly even just to know of their origins, that would be nice, maybe for both, in so far as for the mom to know that her baby-ies have survived.

Ive never been sprayed by a skunk but when ive smelled their spray in the air ive found it pleasant, not stinky at all! Now if skunks really wanted to put a hurt on you, they'd stink like bad human BO! THAT is stomach churning to me! WAY worse than skunk!

A friend of my parents had a skunk years ago and I would babysit her when they went outta town. She was the cutest, most lovable, little girl ever! I still miss her all these years later (30 yrs. Maybe one day I'll get one bc they're just too adorable

I dont think hand raising animals and then releasing them to the wild is safe for them. For 2, how can they survive on their own when theyre not wild and depend on humans. 2. Theyre use to humans and theyll go into peoples property and get shot

Me: Aww what a cute pokemon! Lemme catch you!
Him: Stomps ground, starts biting. Deflects pokeball.
Me: Oh. You don't want to be in a pokeball Okay, You're my Pikachu, then. You dont have to be be in the pokeball: D

I thought only human children stamped their feet. My boo boo. I tried that at roughly age 5. I was forced to keep stamping my feet for say 15 minutes. I tuckered out and took a good nap. Supper tasted good when I awakened.

Why does the person im the video keep prodding him and agitating him It's obviously making him stressed. I'd be stomping my feet and trying to bite, too, if someone was constantly sticking their fingers my face.

So, a skunk will only spray if it feels threatened Wow! Do they still have that skunk odor even though they aren't spraying If a skunk trusts a human and is handled respectfully, it won't spray! This is news to me!
reply

Just out of curiosity, when they're meant to be eventually released, and aren't therefore descented, how is it possible to tolerate the spray smell

Are you allowed to keep a skunk as a pet In Australia we are not allowed to keep native animals as pets. Even though some of them make great pets.
reply

What beautiful little animals, it's heartening to know there's great people doing there best for these animals, thank you, .

I love skunks! So smart and spunky. I was happy to see a skunk rehabbed started in indiana. They really are incredible creatures.
reply

The skunk should be our national symbol. They're cute, mostly friendly, and no one in their right mind messes with them.

My brother and I found a little of baby skunks when we were kids. I remember the foot stomping! They really are adorable.

His bossiness is why his mother abandoned him. Mothers love their children, but enough is enough so tough love.

this is incredibly difficult to watch after the recent loss of Atari the Skunk. they're toooooooo freakin' cute.

Our little skunk would eat cat food off our porch. We named him King.

It’s a shame they are so stinky because they are a pretty cool animal

It seems weird that there are so many abandoned baby skunks. idk.
