No One Wanted to be Friends with This Rescue Camel Until a Baby Cow Came Along

When I was serving on the Kuwaiti, Iraqi desert border, I went to take a crap on some dunes about 50 m from the other soldiers. With my pants around my ankles, and squatting, I was joined by some very curious camels. After some difficulties with the camels while doing my business, I got myself properly dressed. The camels, many of them with different brands on them, surrounded me. So, I pet, caressed and spoke lovingly to them. Bad mistake! All of sudden, they all wanted to be petted, caressed and snuggled. They kept wrapping their necks around my head. There were about 25 of them. Never having had any experience with camels in Lubbock, Texas, I didn't know what they were doing. I walked back to my Bradley with all these camels in tow. When I got to my platoon, all the soldiers came out of their vehicles to love the camels who were begging for attention. Camels are the sweetest, most affectionate animals I have ever had the pleasure of spending time with. I am so blessed to have had that experience.

Must be devastating to be in a place as a child without mom and on top of that, being rejected by the other animals
That animal sanctuary is more than that. People there make sure every creature has a happy life.
Baby cow is the type of friend everyone would like to have. I loved how they bonded. No more sad cryings from baby camel

Horses are inherently scared of any animal they have not grown up around. If they have not seen a camel before, they will be terrified. They need to be trained to be around camels, then get accustomed being with them all the time. I'm guessing the horses I see in the video have not been around camels, so they avoided the baby camel.

In desperation they are bonded but u should find another camel from another animal shelter.
Imagine you are camel and u don't see anyone like u and have to spend all life with some other species. It may look funny to us but not easy.

Horse, donkeys, even zebra hate the smell of camels. Camels can scare horses and it was used during the crusades as a tactic in war. Put some camels downwind of the battle field and the horse would freak then buck their riders while trying to flee.

That's so awesome and cute! The not sharing reminds me of my cats that are both about 1. 5 years old. They both sometimes won't share a toy, just like toddlers lol. They're a darling odd couple. So glad that very creative idea you had worked out!

Awe that fills my heart with joy and love felt so bad for Camelot I am glad he has a buddies now hope it last for a long time.
