Actually they are well known to be heard animals. If you got a few cows that knew where food was. Just throw out some hay and the beefalo will most likely follow the heard.
Probably the reason why he was so slippery. Because he was by himself. So hes on edge constantly from predators, never feeling safe. You get him in a group, Be way easier to catch him.

I am so proud of the policeman that had the compassion, kindness and bravery to help buddy get rescued and find sanctuary.

At least this cop, during the time he was focusing on the bull, was NOT pulling any bull on innocent civilians and trampling their civil rights or trying to shoot them for no reason, that is I HOPE he wasn't, BUT he IS A COP.

Much respect to the officer who genuinely cared for Buddy’s well being. He even made a trip to Florida to visit Buddy. That was a very sweet gesture. I love sanctuaries that give animals a second chance and a loving home.

Those Yankees spent all that time and money trying to catch him, they could have had a Cowboy from Texas rope him in an afternoon. You can tell a Yankee. But you cannot tell them much.

This remind me of the Colombian cocaine hippos - small, insulated communities seem to really be able to rally around animals in need maybe that’s why they worked out so well for so long
