Funny Scientists Freak Out Over Crazy-Looking Sea Animals Absolutely STUNNING footage! Thank you, SO much, for sharing!
Just one thing. that humpback whale they filmed, is actually a sperm whale. Look at its lower jaw (very thin and although you cant see them. contains _teeth! _ )
Baline whales, (which humpies are, are filter feeders & dont have teeth. They have a much bigger jaw (compared to toothed whales, in particular. sperm whales.
Im quite surprised these guys misidentified something so obvious!

Being a marine biologist is just like being a kid at an aquarium watching the fish and waiting for them to do something bur they don't do anything and you don't wanna scare them so you dedicate your school work to becoming a professionally paid kid at an aquarium where you can watch all the fish all the time

BREAKING NEWS: Marine biologists unable to identify one of the most iconic whales in the ocean, at what is probably a depth that is the habitat of exclusively said whale. In all seriousness, this was really cool to see, and I loved witnessing all of the rad creatures they found: D

Never seen an octopus with dark eyes before. I notice the cephalopods in shallower waters have different eyes, more amphibian-like. Their deep sea relatives seem to have more expressive eyes (even the cartoon-looking purple one.

The purple squid is Rossia Pacifica, aka the stubby squid. It may look fake, but it’s actually real. Probably left a HUGE blob of black ink after they finished roasting him (which is what they do when they’re disturbed)
reply

i dont know why, but squid and octopi are two of my favourite animals. i dont have a specific favourite, but for some reason i just find squid and octopi ADORABLE, especially the shy octopus.
reply

I might be broken, but I swear that purple octopus looks so much like Octodad
The humpback whale is a sperm whale, you can see it from the body shape as well as the lower jaw.

Love how everyone would expect them to use big words that you would have to look up meanwhile there just losing it as they say shiny and haha big eyes go brrrr

The shape of that Vampire Octopus betwixt 1: 20 - 2: 00 always & instantly reminds me of the umbrella end of the alien ship from the 1985 film, Lifeforce.

How can you still believe in coincidence God created all this. Animals were made for humans to serve us, but we must respect them and take care of them.
reply

Sad to think that humans will make all these beautiful creatures extinct by our daily actions. They will all be dead forever within our lifetime.
reply

I love how you can tell they're absolutely enjoying their job as biologists, so invested in these creatures yet being so amused and amazed by them
reply

If you like this!
Watch octopus teacher, on Netflix it's a documentary about a guy who slowly befriends a octopus, I cryed at the end.
