This Pittie Was Pregnant In A Shelter When She Found The Best Family Adoption Day I will only ever adopt older dogs in the future, huge congrats to the woman who adopted Zia!
Ill never forget my old labrador, we got him when I was around 14, recently moved to a new house and my parents put an ad somewhere saying dog wanted and got contacted by a lady who in short said take this dog or Ill abandon him.
He was only 4 years old but his entire life he was chained up in their backyard, they were (from what I gathered) backyard breeders, he was born with pretty bad hips so when they found out they werent going to be able to sell him for a good price or use him for breeding they just chained him up and left him. He was severely obese from lack of exercise, they would just throw out sacks of food at a time and refill it when it was empty, since he had nothing else to do all day he just ate. The weight made his hips even worse, it took us 2 years to get him at a healthier weight and get him to the point where he could go on 40 minute long field walks but he was never able to do more than an hour max. He was probably the sweetest and most loving dog I think Ill ever have, being completely affection and socialisation starved didnt effect his personality a bit, perhaps even made him that more loving because he knew what it was like to not have it. At first the vets didnt think he would make it past 6-7 but we had him till he was 12 before finally saying goodbye. Ill always miss him

I rescued a precious girl years ago who was left alone at a public trash dump. I was kind of afraid of dogs and my parents were not pet people so never had one growing up. I can clearly remember her jumping up in my window as soon as I pulled up at midnight! Scared me half to death and I sat there terrified. It was cold out but she was smiling and wagging her tail so I lowered the window and she licked me, game over. I took her home and once I got her into the light, I got thoroughly pissed off. Poor girl was so malnourished that I do not know how she was alive. My sweet beauty was black as night with a perfect diamond patch of white on her chest, I named her Midnight obviously, she gained almost 30 pounds the first month I had her. I did not know she was a pit until I took her to the vet and at the time I had a 2 year old. Alot of people said I shouldn't keep her but I knew better. This was long ago, daughter now 35 but I will never forget my black beauty, she was the best dog I ever had, such a sweet, gentle and goofy personality. Love them right and breed does not matter.

I think this is one of the most well done videos that shows life after adoption for a mama dog and the pups. I laughed, I cried, i fell in love and I felt the loss of not keeping the mom and ALL her puppies cuz that’s how I roll but it teaches me how vital fostering is because there will ALWAYS be another momma dog and her puppies who need exactly what this video so beautifully showed. PS LOVE the Z names.

Dodo, if you really want to help the APBT and pet owners in general, push for legislation requiring licensing to own one. Hounds want to hunt, greyhounds want to run, Pits want to fight. They are working dogs and their job is to fight and kill large animals. Like several other breeds bred for this type of thing, they are NOT appropriate in an urban setting with other pets, children etc.

So happy the couple rescued her from the shelter and she had healthy puppies and they found good homes I wish I can rescue a pitbull puppy or an older pitbull but where I live they do not allow them its really ashame because they are great dogs I have friends who have them and family members who them and they are very friendly

There's nothing humane about taking every puppy from her. It's barbaric.

What’s the deal with the owners making their dogs wear a harness 24/7
