Military Dog Is SO Happy To Finally Be Home With His Dad Reunited BEAUTIFUL! These service dogs dont forget their handlers. Ours was with a different handler when he was up for retirement. That officer couldnt home him so we were the next call. It didnt matter we hadnt seen him in 5 years. we said yes. The look on his face when he was back with my husband in our home was priceless. he was so happy. He now enjoys a different job, watching the walk to greet amazon drivers and the pool man. A car ride is like a 12 year old getting Taylor Swift tickets- he jumps around like a lottery winner. I hope they all enjoy his remaining years, they all deserve them.

Understand security dogs trained inUS are being maltreated in Egypt and certain mid-Eastern countries. These are trained dogs, valuable dogs who deserve respect, and if these countries fail in proper care for these days, gather and fly these dogs back home to the US. (This info, news article based on Senator Grassley a few years ago. WE SHOULD NOT LEAVE our Military dogs behind in despicable situations)
Can army, marines, whoever use these field dogs investigate and arrange flights back to US

Working K9s have no choice in their future once they are chosen to work for the government. They are sent into deadly situations whether they want to or not. Thank heavens for their allocated working partners who love them and appreciate their worth by adopting them when they retire. Most working K9s are euthanized if nobody steps up to the plate. I have personally rescued 2 elderly K9s. RIP Ganja and Crowbar (German Shepherd and Belgium Malinois )

The country USA has not been defending itself. it’s an empire like the Roman Empire or British or Spanish Empire and USA is an aggressive empire. look at the few years it’s ’not been at war or conflict with other countries’’. for resources. or position. Let’s be honest. Defending USA is like fighting for king and country bless the Truth. What was Vietnam doing Was Iraq or Afghanistan a threat to USA. NO it’s resourcesclearly

We just had a former handler, US Army, that served in Afghanistan, reunited with his working dog he had while he was deployed there. We, as a group, reviewed the rules of the VFW and have made him, the Military Working Dog, a full lifetime member, in good standing of course, with our local VFW. I hope this MWD can also become a member of the VFW of it local community.

It was so cool to watch Bakk almost immediately zoom in on Henry and watch him so carefully! He is really going to look out for those kids! He's got about 3 years left and hopefully they are the best 3 years of his life being a family pet!

Super cool. Who else wishes the USA would STOP starting conflict. Save our SONS. There are only 70 MILLION people in the USA from 0-17 RIGHT NOW in 2023. We have no more sons to give to war. We need them for reproduction. Stop US Conflict

Its a year assignment but you can take whats called a mid-tour leave so at the 5th -6th month you can take a 2 or 4 week leave to be with your family. I have 3 tours to South Korea but I wasnt married at the time so I stayed the entire year

All military and working dogs DESERVE a happy retirement with forever loving homes in the USA. These courageous four legged veterans defended all our freedom and we owe each of them a happy retirement.

Thank you to American Humane for bringing these soldiers home to be reunited with their partners and finish out their best lives. Service dogs deserve every opportunity to retire knowing they did a great job.
reply

I love these stories. It’s the way it should be. I know they spend a lot on trying those dogs up, but the connection with the handler should be allowed to be maintained. Great work y’all
reply

So wonderful. Tha k you for your service and defending the USA, while missing out on your children's lives. Much appreciated sir. So glad you are reunited.
reply

umm. the dog was in S. Korea, not the USA. Not defending the USA, but just as a deterrent against communist China's attempt at attacking S. Korea, Japan, and Taiwan

4 years late, but when that little boy was up on the ledge, Bakk was watching him like he was ready to catch the boy if he fell lol. Love German Shephards.

The military should let the dogs come home with the soldier and figure out quarantine. American Humane is doing their job for them. Thank God.
reply

Hartwarming, all military dogs should go home, they do so much, so that is the least. Happy this sweethart is with his own family now!
reply

Honestly, service dogs should just, by default, go to every handler that'll take them upon their retirement. It's clearly what's right.
reply

You guys deserve each other. I was a Marine for 8 years and I am not surprised by this. Military stick together, including our fighting dogs.
reply

Bakk, you deserve a rest and by the looks of it, you will get all the love a family can give. Thank you for your service Bakk.
reply

At least the poor dog doesn’t have to serve the biden administration anymorethe country he supposedly defended is destroyed
reply

At the end he's watching/guarding the toddler to make sure he doesn't do anything to get hurt, you can tell by the posture.

I think adopting retired soldier dogs is right up there with prison inmates in prison getting dogs to train. Everyone Wins!
