Baby Takes His First Steps Straight To His Dog You wont get a better dog than a Boxer when it comes to kids Theyre made for each other. And when my daughter brought her first born home, our two boxers were so well behaved. And once introductions were over, it was a case of who could get the closest. Once the baby could crawl, the dogs cage became the meeting place for the three of them.
And of cause they baby shared his dummy and the dogs their toys. And then one of our Boxers had a puppy and the baby who could now walk, and the puppy became best buddies. So, we had three boxers and a baby and never a cross word between them. Boxers love kids and vice versa, its mutual thing. The baby now had three bodyguards, who would give their lives if needed to keep the baby from harm. And they knew the difference between friend of foe. The baby was quite safe when left in the garden while sleeping in his pram. The dogs were never more than a few feet away.
And with a boxer you can play rough, but be warned, theyll give as much as they get. And keep coming back for more. You cant beat a boxer. Family member, friend, protector, hilarious, always ready to play and have some fun and are great all-round companions. Loves water, hates baths. Never a dull moment, but dont let them get bored. They are very good at entertaining themselves. Shoes, slippers, pillows, cuddly toys, your flower bed. And when you tell them off, the way they look at you, they make you feel guilty. And when youre sick, they watch over you like a hawk, they just know. Just as ours knew that my daughter was pregnant. If youve got or had a boxer, youll know what I mean, they are the most loving dogs imaginable.
Theyre working dogs, not lap dogs, but they are quite happy to sit on your lap all day or cuddle up.

It actually has been shown repeatedly that dogs know when a woman is pregnant, but not because it can hear and feel the baby when it gets big enough to be visible. Dogs sense of smell isn't just a tracking or memory thing. Dogs smell hormone variations and immune system changes. Dogs essentially communicate through smell, in very detailed ways, which is why marking is so instinctual to them. The dog smelled her hormone system changing. The dog likely knew she was pregnant before she did. This is also how dogs know when you are sick, stressed, or sad. Theyve even been shown to recognize grief. I don't know if its true, or been proved, but ive heard that a dog can differentiate your smell and the babys even before the baby is born, and can even recognize children or spouses as linked to an owner without any foreknowledge. Imagine your dog smelling a child it had never seen before and being able to tell you yes, this is your progeny. Where are the rest of the litter One! Surely my human will need comforting. Human. i feel your pain, and as the sole remaining offspring from this litter, I vow to protect your sole heir with my life.

My parents had a boxer when I was a baby, an infant. She would babysit me and my brother. Apparently, when he was mean to me -- he was 2 1/2 years older -- she would sit on him. Or she would drag him around by his t-shirt. My father was a doctor, I think at that point he was a resident. Bess, the dog, was hit by a car. Instead of putting her down, he and his friends attempted to operate on her. But they gave her too much anesthesia and she died. I can't remember her, but I was really an infant when we had her. I appreciate so much what my father and his friends tried to do. This was around 1953, so nobody was operating on dogs to save them, they just put them down.

So great to watch.
My wife bought me a 1 year old a boxer as a fortieth birthday present. They are powerful, strong and boisterous puppies all their lives and we were warned but after an initial period of settling in, he became a true member of the family. He behaved differently to each of us but was never aggresive. He would playfight with me but was so gentle with the children and always so protective of my wife. Guard dog inside and protector out of the home, yet so playful and loving. Sadly missed but irreplaceable.

Boxers are great with kids. When my aunt visited with her baby, he would not allow anyone near her. He would actually growl at us if we tried to pick hwr up and he let her touch his face and ears which he wouldnt let us do at the time because we hadnt had him very long yet and he was still getting used to us. Dogs are pack animals so are naturally very protective of babies because that is what they see as thei role in the pack.

A family friend of ours had a Boxer named Chyna and when her owners became grandparents to twin girls, Chyna became the loving auntie. She’d hang out by their cribs and fetch the grandparents when the girls would fuss, let them play with her ears and was just super loving towards them.

I have no idea if any studies have been done on this but I feel like being around dogs and cats is good for a developing baby. It's a lot of stimulation for their little brains, and you'd better believe that dog will protect the child to the bitter end if it came down to it

Such valuable lessons learned by a young mind, amazing. Luca’s protective instincts and bonding abilities are a result of a very happy and loving upbringing. You treat them right and reap the rewards.

A boy and his dog. Luca will be a stronger, kinder, more mature person because he had this influence in his life from a young age. Thank you for sharing these beautiful moments with us. _

Obviously a well trained dog before baby came. seen loads of people who don't know how the ek to train a dog let alone introduce a child.

I hate when people speak about a dog as it was a child. A dog is definitely a family member, but not a brother or your child in any way.

Such a lovely and brave one, I wonder where I can get one of these babies. They are good friend, when you treat them right

Dogs see us as their path to their best life. We don't necessarily deserve it; but they believe in us.

A boy needs three things to be a fairly decent human being 1: both parents 2: discipline 3: a dog
