Rescued Baby Black Bear Slowly Falls In Love With His New Friend Little But Fierce Sad Fact followed by fun facts. Bears that get separated from their mothers when theyre less than around 3 years old, can never be wild bears. Bears have to be taught to be bears by their mother, they cant figure it out like some other animals. Now for the fun facts. A new born bear is only the size of a squirrel. Bears have the easiest births of any mammal. Second, you cant _actually_ tell the type of bear from their color. Black bears can have brown fur and a brown bear can have black fur.
The easiest way to tell is the hump, or lack there of. Brown bears have a large hump on the back of their neck and black bears dont. Their faces are a different shape as well, brown bears having a prominent forehead ridge. Black bears have a smoother, less angled head.

Ah I didn't know bears were born so small and cute. Thanks for posting. Curious how old they were when released Also curious if it's possible to tame bears or for humans to be around a trained bear like at a zoo like I've seen with tigers for a tiger show. I'm thinking no, but curious if humans raised the bear.

Oh my Lord they got so big! I am so happy to see them both released together, it would be hard to be alone (just one) all on their own. This way they don't have to feel they face the world without another familiar animal: . I do hope they do well!

This was one of the best rescue and release videos. Just watching these two naturally run, climb, and swim was so heartwarming. I wish them both well and hope they both grow up and live long, happy lives.

It's BS releasing young Bears into the wilderness in the Fall. They still need to forage and find a shelter. By doing this, you have greatly reduced their chances for survival.
reply

So you're sure that that was not a death sentence for those two You know that they can survive on their own in the wild Bears are primarily omnivores. What did you feed them
reply

The imagery of a pet you raised up from a baby and all the memories you had, looking over its shoulder at you before disappearing into the wilderness forever, gets me choked up: (
reply

In wild bears, only 25% of cubs reach reproductive age. . In other words, their natural infant mortality rate is 75%.
Any interference with this is unecologic. .

Probably just get a Xmas card every couple of years, with a few scribbled lines - that’s the younger generation for you no gratitude
reply

How do they train them for release in the wilds Do they put living small animals in the cage Is it sufficient for their survival
reply

Oh wow, I'm so glad they got released together. Thanks for helping them. I think I'll end my internet time on this happy video.

i often wonder how many hibernating bears and chipmunks get killed by all that logging going on across the boreal

The cub looked so much like an otter at first. I actually thought he was an otter in the thumbnail pic LOL.

Absolutely darling, dodo is the best, I'm glad they were able to live in the wild as they were meant to be

To the entire world. Make the Dodo your go to content. The world is dark and we need Dodo light shining.

Excellent job raising them in a way that they weren’t too bonded to people, so they could be released.
reply

Nice, but I wonder if it was really safe to let them loose when they've been around humans so long.

What a wonderful end to having black bears for a little while and then to set them free!

They’ll be best friends until a female bear comes along and ruins everything

Instead of having a guard dog to protect your house you could have had guard bears.
reply

You left them free in the winter Hmmm spring would seem to be a better time
reply

I hope they live long lives and dont go near other humans who might do them harm.

reply

I love how these bears didn't even try to bond with the humans
