Trapped woodpecker stops crying the moment she realizes these guys are here to help watch her wait patiently until she can fly away I appreciate that they helped her but some species breathe thru their beak. so pls if your going to help dont traumatize the animal by holding their beak together. that fishing line should be out lawed. so many people use it then leave it and it always hurts wildlife. whether on land or sea. It does more harm then good

Sometimes we hear a read stories about people who leave animals behind when they move because they can't take them to a new place.
We hear about people who leave their animals behind because they pass away or for whatever reason and the animal is left to roam the streets and it's a horrible life. Sad and everything that goes along with living alone on the streets feeling rejected just like a human would.
But then we see these stories of compassion of care of people helping a little bird. A little woodpecker to be free out of a net. Bless these people.

Thank you for the update, The Dodo! There is an identical looking red crested woodpecker living near where I live. He's a bit weird though. He likes to hit a street light metal pole really loud when people are walking near him. He also doesn't seem to care when a person is walking right next to him while he's pecking into the trees near the ground.

I love hearing the 2 Woodpeckers out in my yard pecking away on the trees & the house siding. Sometimes startles me when they peck the tin flashing. They are so busy, everyday. I love these kind people who rescued this sweet bird.

We humans must be more aware of the trash and potential deadly objects we leave lying around in the natural environment. It has consequences on so many levels. We can do better. We must do better!

Remains calm they say, while the woodpecker is still visibly struggling and off and on calls in distress.
Regardless, thanks to the two nice guys for rescuing the bird. Keystone species.

She's not being patient, I disagree on that. She's dealing with the situation as best she can what with the shock, pain, etc. I'm very glad such good people came to her rescue!

thank you for saving the life of this beautiful woodpecker. she was
calm because she knew that you were saving her. releasing her back
into the wild was the best part.

Amazing how people from all over the world show animals such kindness and mercy. I ask our Heavenly Father to remind us to look at one another the same.

Bless these gentlemen - these truly _gentle_ men. The best sort of manly man there is! I wish them every good thing.
That bird was stunning, wasn't it!

Another video showing one more time how dangerous our discarded refuse can be harmful to animals. Properly discard plastics, nets, fishing gear etc.

Great job with the rescue. Now comes the hard question. how do you prevent more birds getting entrapped Has the root of the problem been corrected

I hope those guys aren't fishermen. Or if they were, they realize how wrong fishing is and never do it again. All God's creatures deserve freedom.

I was walking outside of a mall parking lot. And I found a tangle and loose crafting thread and I knot it up and I threw it away. In a Trash.
