Guy Builds Themed Cat Patios

This guy builds cat patios for a living. It all started when he was able to fix his cats relationship, now he wants to spread the joy and love. Wait until you see the Alice In Wonderland one! Not the first guy to catify his crib, there was the first one I heard of, about 15-20 years ago, I think in San Diego, who did more or less the same thing. Very creative and clearly it was a labor of love and it made everyone happy. See, kids, find what you're good at, which will make you happy, then others will notice and start paying you to do it for them, word gets around, now you have more work than you ever imagined.

I'm afraid that would be wasted on my adopted cat.
The poor girl had a bad start to her life. She was ill-treated by someone before she came into my life, and she has brain damage. The vet thinks that she was kicked in the head
As a result, she has no idea of the concept of play. She also has major mood swings. Sometimes, her behaviour verges on self-harm. Other times, she is very clinging and can not bear to be away from me. The place that she is happiest is lying on the back of the sofa.
Last year, I volunteered to care for my friend's cat as he had a business trip abroad. My poor girl went berserk, tried to attack the other cat, and because he was in a cage, she attacked me. I ended with five surgeries, 12 days in hospital, and permanent limited use of my left hand.
I still love her and wish that I could build her a catio. I've even planned one, but I'd never forgive myself if she came to harm. These are so lovely for a normal cat, but not for my girl.

These are beautiful! And this is much cooler than any of the current home building shows.
I have never seen such creative catios. Lee Asher is building them for his cats.
I have always tried to keep my cats indoors, but at our last house, it was hopeless. Thankfully we lived on a very quiet street. I used to take the dogs out and we would go for sniff walks with the cats.
Now the two girls, Bibby, 19 and Ursie, 17, have not figured out that the door on our new place is at the top of the stairs and they do not go out. Our boy, Casey, still goes outside. Again, we are on a very quiet street in a very small town. The girls are couch potatoes now.
Blessings to Alan and his crew!

The great thing about catios is they provide tons of stimulation, fresh air & sunshine for cats--without putting either the cats or OUR NATIVE WILDLIFE at risk.
Cats are responsible for the deaths of billions of birds & small animals every year. Many of those deaths are caused by feral cats, but free-range & 'indoor-outdoor' cats wreak devastation on bird populations. Catios are a fantastic solution, so bravo to this guy & the message he's sharing.

We had a makeshift catio at our last place that the cats used all the time. But now we own a house, so, when we built our deck, the plan was always to create a fantastic catio on part of it. We can sit in it with them. We put bird feeders in front of it so they (and we) can watch the birds without the cats catching them. It's so lovely sitting out there with them.

This makes you so far above regular people to me, this is hero work like Superman. I'm fostering 6 kittens right now and i'm keeping two, my mind was going this direction but i have to look at more of your work because i got so many ideas from this short video. You are a hero to me man, thanks for all you do for cats.

On the East Coast, most homes are multi-level with a basement. Our house wasn't that old, but the basement was unfinished and had a lot of nooks and crannies that were fun for a cat. Then, add in lots of windows, old school radiators w/ covers.
Weirdly, we just left food out all the time. Cat(s) were always slim.

Cats are hunters. They need lots of exercise and stimulation. Plus, they are smart and want to learn. Keeping them caged without stimulation is harmful to them. All my cats are indoor/outdoor cats. I refuse to live anywhere that my cats can't live with some level of safety.

I wish I could hire this man. I just got my first house in the desert. Because of the coyotes I can't have them outside anymore but unfortunately I'm on disability and the house is a gift. So i'm too broke to get something like this done

Amazing work. I have 7 cats. We do manage with 4 scratching posts & cat flap to the garden. I think it would drive me crazy if my cats were running around the walls although I would love to see it. It's great

Just brilliant! This is by far the best catio I've ever seen! They're getting plenty of exercise and are obviously having so much fun! They're very safe at the same time, and they all look so healthy!

I'm in the process of buying my house. Close in May. And the first thing is building a catio. I need to find out where this guy is and how expensive he is. He does such beautiful work! Thx the dodo

This would be the ideal way to keep cats. Keeps your cat safe and entertained and keeps wildlife safe. Pretty cool. Now, if only I could afford all of it! But that's another story lol

I love this idea! It's cat heaven (and heaven for some agile, adventurous dogs) I've seen similar videos from clever DIYers. I just wish I owned my house so I could do it.

I wish I could afford this. I only have a small amount of (approximately 2 x 10') apartment balcony, so I don't know what could be done, but it would be nice to find out.

God calls on us to do the work we love as well as the work that is needed, this man has kept his eye on the ball and god in his heart! We should all work in such a way!

It's all fun and games until one of the cats poops in there and then they all start pooping in there and you have a horrible mess. Happened to my old cat room.
