Wonderful story My late husband built a similar house for a stray cat in our neighbourhood in Canada (harsh winters. It was double walled and insulated and had a foyer with a heat lamp. We named the cat Sita I don't recommend naming a cat after a Goddess because they already have an inflated opinion of their stature! We didn't want a pet because we worked full time and traveled quite a bit so we thought we'd get her spayed, build the house and feed her and keep her as a yard cat. Sita had other ideas and decided why should she live in this little house when she could move into the main house which must have seemed like a mansion to her. She wasn't taking 'no' for an answer. Then her arch enemy (who we named Willoughby) started frequenting the yard and moved into the cat house, which was on our deck. One day (sadly) he disappeared. We were so sad. He showed up a month later, greasy looking and much thinner (we wondered if he'd accidentally got locked in somewhere) and did something he'd never done before. He demanded to be let into the BIG house. And that's how the two arch enemies became roommates! They were the first of 5 cats, to date, to move into the BIG house. Thanks for taking care of the outdoor cats. .. you're a Prince among men.

That is so very nice for you to do that for those poor cats. I wish all stray cats had a nice shelter house like you built to go to. You are such a kind and caring man, thank you for helping those poor cats and giving them a better life

Plz spay/ neuter your pets to prevent the homeless influx of stray animals since it's a tough struggle to live on the streets, having to fend for themselves. Nit all strays are as lucky as this one, unfortunately.

Ahh! My only concern would be to get them neutered - less stray cats! I'm a birder, and love all animals, but wild cats are terrible for bird population. So thoughtful though!

Some of the cats have missing eartips that usually means they've taken trips to the vet and these cats won't make any more kittens. Well done Sir!
