I rented a guest house on a small ranch which had a door in the bathroom that led directly outside to a coral. One time I must’ve left the door slightly ajar and the horse made its way into my tiny bathroom. I wasn’t home but later I found the bathroom was kind of trashed and there was a little hay in the toilet, ha ha. I realized the culprit was Dandy, the horse, and he’d drunk a little toilet water.
From the point on Dandy ALWAYS tried to jiggle the door open and sometimes when someone stopped by at night and used my bathroom I’d hear a blood-curdling cry because my guest would see the bathroom doorknob moving and they thought it was a pervert trying to get in.

You will never know the full extent of what it means to be human until you form a close bond with a creature from another species. Without the convenience of language we figure out ways to portray, as well as understand emotions, through action and behaviour. We learn to communicate feelings that no words can describe. This is when we level up and take those lessons learned and go communicate love, kindness and compassion to other humans without the need for ever using words.

OMG, Ive been trying to explain this set up to my family but they just cant conceive how wonderful it would be. I want an indoor barn like you have, a main barn but a small connected one to my fun room and a big window over my kitchen sink so they can poke thier heads in and visit with me while i do dishes or cook or just giving snacks. thanks for showing this adorable set up. I had a shetland that would get busted in the house eating the dog food.

Love the idea of the connected barn, even just having a window into it would be really cool!
Also for anyone curious, the main reason why most people lock the horses away in stalls at night is for the horses safety and peace of mind for the humans. Plus horses definitely create a lot of chaos when they’re comfortable with their environment and you wouldn’t find out about it until 8 hours later

He knows how to open the door because you intentionnally let them open so he can go inside For views I'm fine with it but stop pretending he does it on his own lmao. He's tamed to do it and you do everything so that he can do it. Lock the door and cya, no more horse.

I had a horse that did this when I was growing up. He even tried to get into the neighbors kitchen one morning when we were on vacation. that was the neighbor taking care of our animals. He must have been too slow with his coffee that morning

I just love how the barn is connected to the house (I take it use to be a car garage) I'm happy I'm not the only one that if I ever had any ponies I also would turn my attached garage I to a barn. Happy every.

I know how she feels about chemo. On my chemo days, I'm gone from 7: 45 AM until about noon. There is nothing better than coming home, laying on the sofa, and snuggling my 85 lb. German Sheppherd.

It's brilliant that she built the horses' barn directly inside her house so they can literally make house calls. Except for Hermie, he's apparently a horse burglar.

Having the stalls attached to the house is such an amazing idea. I'm sure the horses love knowing they're living with you and not separate from you.

I love this idea, sliding glass doors right off the house into the barn, it's a really sweet way to stay close to your giant dogs. I love it.
