Maybe her granddad has a calming personality. We had cats growing up (one after the other, not at the same time) and they were all nice, but my father would take naps on the couch and the cat was his personal sleeping buddy. He'd lay on the couch with the cat stretched out next to him.
When my father walked down the basement steps (which had a musical sound - plastic mats on wooden steps, they'd hear his footsteps and race him to the basement. Then they'd flop on the concrete floor for a backrub. He used to add a little pat by the tail that they liked.

I own such a Cat since 9 Years. We are still making progress today, but he is a lil cutie now. It is worth it. He was a feral Cat, quiet young (max 1 Year, with a damaged leg (it had to be cutt off) and you couldn't get closer than 2-3 meters to him without hissing. but he never attacked me in any way. His option was always fleeing. Till this day we are still in progress - it took him 7 Years to initiate some cuttling on his own. Now he's coming 2 to 3 times a day. and so we move on. step by step by step.

Was she born a single cat i wonder. I had a cat who hissed and just didn't appear happy. She had single cat syndrome and never learned the threshold of too much pain. They learn this when play fighting with siblings. Idk. Just a thought. I learned to understand it was how my cat knew to communicate and no, giving her to someone else wasn't an option. However since she is at peace with your father maybe her life would be less stressful with him and she may get better. Id definitely let him have her for her.

I hate how she presents the cat to be evil and hate everyone especially children there's no such thing as evil cats, she is clearly afraid, did that woman ever stop to think why the cat is acting like that around anything that breathes What if she had a traumatic experience with a child What if one of the family members had manhandled her before I really hope the cat lives somewhere that she feels safe at and away from that girl, she doesn't deserve her

This is why so many people grow up with a fear or hatred of cats. The father probably has his reasons why he can’t have the cat so good on her for taking the mantle. It there’s gotta be a reasons for this behavior. Maybe some cat specific furniture that isnt outdoors where other cats can approach and lay on it Perhaps a territory issue and no redirection of that aggression But there’s almost always a way to make an aggressive cat less aggressive.

Maybe the cat living with her dad is unrealistic. He could Iive in an apartment that doesn’t allow pets, does not have time to take care of the cat, lives in an assisted living facility, there’s all kinds of reasons why the cat does not live with her dad. The cat is healthy, loved, and well care for which is wonderful!

I suspect that this cat may have been abused or traumatized by whoever previously owned it My aunt had a cat that had once been thrown around by the tail by some punk kids -it hated everyone except my grandfather, who ended up keeping it, and it loved him, hissed at everyone else.

This young woman should read about cats to understand hers better. And characterizing the cat as hating everyone is actually quite destructive. From this short video I can see clear reasons why this cat strikes out at her. There's no such thing as an animal that hates happiness and joy.

The dad is the only one who doesn’t express nervous energy around the cat. That’s what she picks up on and responds to in every one else.
The dad essentially just walked right over and snatched her up. He showed no fear. Therefore he is the cat whisperer.

I would not give her up but I would take her to some kind of specialist behavioural vet to see what can be done. They also have meds that calm cats and dogs down so they don't get so stressed. I would do that for her well being rather than the people around her.

Someone call child services. You can't let loose a dangerous cat in a home with children. And call PETA too. She's definitely stressing out the cat for laughs
If the cat loves that one guy, have him adopt her and take her away

Wonder how long the cat has been with the woman. I agree with the other comments that her father is the only person that has the ability to give the cat a calm, loving home. Time to think of what is best for your cat, lady

This is why you have her looked at and taken care of by a behavioral specialist, or send her to live with grandpa. That's trouble waiting to happen. Stop treating stuff like this as quirky.

The cat is def not dragging her anywhere, she’s just letting the cat run around and be aggressive for the internet game when the owner could easily just not move and hold onto the leash

sorry but I think that if you have a cat they should like living with you. The cat is clearly miserable, let her go live with someone she loves. what kind of idiot narcissism is this.

I'm not one to say you shouldn't have animals but this cat needs to be rehomed with her father. If the cat is aggressive towards your child their safety should come before the cat.

Our oldest cat was like this for 10 years. He hated kids the most. One day he just snapped and started letting us pet and hold him. He still hates kids but no loner hisses.

Cats like to come to you. In their own time and space the cat obviously doesn’t like being teased and force into situations. Leave the kitty alone and stop stressing him out.

If your dad doesn't want the cat then the cat has no future. Don't waste your time taking it to the Humane Society. let it live in the woods by itself.

My cat, Kodiak, is the complete opposite of this girl. She is extremely affectionate and she does tolerate my sister. She loves my dad and me.

I think that their child doesn't respect the cat, because the family neither do it and the only one who respects the cat is the grandfather.

Something is wrong here with this family. And it's certainly not funny. The cat needs to be somewhere else and should be rescued.

Millennial behavior at its finest. That cat needs discipline, conditioning or psychoanalyzing. Not zombified enabling.
